Own by a nice Filipino lady. She is kind and very helpfuKeeps it so clean. She always has a beautiful smile for every body. Unfortunately, the store doesnt have Japanese food items. I purchased a broom that I have been looking for a few years.

Only thing I could think of that would make this place better is if they carried ramuna

Nice little shop but lacking in some of the basics I was looking for. They did not have a selection of spices for pho making and no dried mushrooms. No fresh vegetables. No kimchi. Very friendly unfortunate they lack what I need.

If you are in need of any type of Asian food items, they have a large variety. In addition to shelved items, they also have refrigerator and frozen.

Amazing selection of proteins and ingredients, the owner is excellent, and I only wish I could rate it higher. Hands down the best place to buy in Montana, and will be making trips from Helena to shop here!

I like to cook and these folks have a lot of spices, teas and ingredients that I need for oriental cooking. Yes its a great shop. Plus its in my heights not over on the west end. Which Im giving 5stars just for that!!!

Although it is quite small, Amaya definitely is jam packed with goodies! From any spices or sauces you can think of for your favorite Asian dish, to frozen exotic sea foods, to delicious frozen goodies like Pork Buns and Dumplings!All the items here are curated, kind of like Costco. Theres not enough room to offer many selection on a specific item so they just offer the best/most popular brands of that item. Ive never bought anything here that wasnt good.The prices are reasonable, its no 99 Ranch or H-Mart from the Coast but for one the only Asian stores in the entire state of Montana they could have prices everything up a lot worse.They are closed Monday and Tuesday which brings a little inconvenience, but its also understandable to keep costs down.Theres another Asian market on the West End next to Samurai, however this place is a little more Filipino oriented and the one over there is more Chinese/Vietnamese. Youll be able to find almost everything you need at either one though, just maybe from different brands.Tips: Check out the fridges with the drinks, they got some gems in there. My favorite is the Coconut Milk in black cans.

Our first time here, the lady was very pleasant and greeted us as we walked in and asking if she can help us find anything. I thought there was a great selection of items. We will definitely make the trek back up to the Heights from the West End to shop here again.

Great selection and a super helpful staff

We come up to Billings once a year and last time we came to the market it was closed during hours of operations however she did have a sign on the door that she would be back and a phone number. This time we’ve waited for 40 mins and store is still not open while the hours of operations clearly states 11-4 on Sunday. Loved the shopping experience and the items last time that we over looked the wait. This time however is really upsetting.

Im so glad they are here. The store may seem small but they have an amazing selection.

Having moved here to Billings from California and having lived other places with much larger Asian communities, I am used to having access to some varying degrees of Asian markets so was quite disappointing when we first moved here 7 years ago to find almost no source for ingredients for Asian dishes I prepare at home. Then enter Amaya Market. They are in a pretty small space but manage to stock it with a decent selection of items otherwise unavailable here. The lady that is usually working there when I go in is Filipina and so are a lot of the items available, but they also have some Chinese, Korean and Japanese items as well. They have several large deep freeze chests around the space that are chock full of some of the more mysterious items, mostly seafood, to those not of an Asian heritage but they also have items such as steamed buns and ingredients to make egg rolls, as well as Filipino ice creams and other sweets. They have a large selection of snack foods, mostly in the form of chips, as well as a really nice selection of ready made sauces from Chinese Hoisin to Filipino banana ketchup and much in between. I would love to see more fresh produce and other items but of course understand how costly and difficult it would be logistically to get things like that here from far away sources, but all in all at least one can get a few basic items if nothing else and being able to get a bag of shrimp chips at just about any time is a nice bonus for me...lol!
