The Book Shop of Beverly Farms is a special place where charm and execution create the perfect atmosphere to browse titles and find your next escape. It’s a must-visit, insider spot for any tour of Boston’s north shore. As a local, my kids love stopping by the children’s section, and we always feel welcome even when piercing the previously mentioned ambiance.

Measured by square footage this is a small bookstore, but it is eminently browsable due to its tidiness, use of nooks and crannies and well-selected stock. If I were a kid I could spend two hours exploring the childrens room. The poetry section, although it is only a shelf is selected with care.

Hannah and her staff have taken a lovely store and turned it into an absolute gem. Ive gotten some great recommendations for my family as well as for hard-to-buy-for friends. Always worth popping in or shopping online.

Im a writer and author based in n Minneapolis. I shop at and support all my local indie bookstores in the Twin Cities. But I make one exception! The service and efficiency and friendliness at the Book Shop of Beverly Farms is the best in the business. So, every couple months I put in an order with Hannah and her staff in Massachusetts and she sends them to Minnesota. I could not recommend a better bookstore to help us get through the pandemic and beyond!

The Book Shop is approaching its 50th anniversary and really is - and has been for a while - a landmark to readers and writers all along the North Shore of Boston. I have known the shop since the early 70s and it has been consistently fine-tuned all these years to American culture and writing...and the fun of reading.

A superior bookstore in a great location.

Independent book store with a great staff. They have a good selection and can order anything you wish (our children are voracious and we order by the stack for summertime.)
