Great experience with Kathy and the manager Kevin. They were very professional, understood my needs, and worked with me to get me to my monthly payment amount. Great selection of awesome cars. I would only change the time spent at the dealership however, youre going to spend at least 3 hours + at any dealership anyway.Finance portion was simple and was a great experience as well.I recommend Volvo Cars of Bethesda if you are looking for awesome cars with great features and which are also super safe!PS. They were also dog friendly :)

My experience with Volvo has not been positive. I have verbally and by email shared questions and an email complaint with Volvo USA/corporate and Volvo Bethesda with no substantive response. Given this track record I am hardly going to recommend Volvo within my professional network or community. My wife likes the Volvo brand and child safety features, but frankly after practically dealing with Bethesda Volvo sales and service I have no intention to continue the relationship with Volvo. In the absence of any communication from Bethesda Volvo Maryland would you do any different?

I had a great experience working with Kevin and Kathy at Ourisman Volvo Bethesda. Over the past couple weeks, I had spoken with several dealers in the area about buying a V60 CC, but Kevin was by far the most compelling over text and phone - communicative, friendly, and optimistic that we could make something work. I had a similar experience when I arrived at the dealership. He and Kathy were lovely to work with, not in the least bit pushy. The vehicle I purchased turned out to be my dream car, and it made me feel even better that I was able to buy it through such wonderful folks. HIGHLY recommend working with Kevin and Kathy at Ourisman if youre thinking about a new or used Volvo.

I have worked with Brenda Green for more years than either of us would like to talk about--more than thirty and over two dealerships. She is a consummate professional who knows her business. She knows also how to take are of her customers. She is very good at keeping me informed of the situation and the progress in repairing it. She is good at delivering bad news. If she were not working there I would likely trade elsewhere. I hope you appreciate how good she is at her job.

I was gonna write a big long review detailing how dreadful my experience was, and has still been since, purchasing a CPO vehicle here. But I’m going to keep it a little shorter and just write in all my years buying vehicles, I’ve never been treated worse. Even back in the day when my credit score was lower, I never received treatment as poorly as I did at this dealership. By all the staff we dealt with. The finance guy literally almost hit us in his car on his way out of the parking garage. Yikes. Shop elsewhere 🤷🏼‍♂️

Purchased a (new to me) used Volvo XC60 from Danny the other day. He was very responsive during the process, and it took me several days to make a decision. He answered all of my questions, went out of his way to take care of me even on his day off, and made sure that I felt like I was a valued customer. If you are looking for a good sales person, ask for Danny!

I took my Volvo to this dealership to have the seat belts replaced per Volvos recall notice. They said it would take a couple of hours and that the dealership would pay for Uber ride to the place required by me and back. I told I would like to go to the Mall. They called and paid the Uber driver for the outbound leg. But When I called the same driver to drive me back to pick up my car, the dealership refused to the driver saying I should have called the dealership for them to place the call to Uber for the return trip back.How cheap and bureaucratic can a luxury car dealership get!!!!

If I could give a no stars if I could because, I went there to simply get a key made and the next day the key failed to work nor could I use my original key to start the car. I explained the situation to the service department, they had the car towed back to them at their expense. Bryan from the service dept told me that I needed a ignition module and that it was not the key but my car. I told them that could not be correct because my car work ed just find prior to them reprogramming the key. They insisted that I pay over $900 for the ignition module so they could prove that the key worked. I refused and had the car towed to my dealer. I asked for the money back for the key as it didnt work. Not only did they refuse to give me the money back for the key they were rude . Leo the service director was so rude and disrespectful. They did not even reassemble my car and left my as the pics show. My car started up without a new ignition module with my original key after my mechanic reassembled my car. I have tried to resolve this issue but volvo has been nonresponsive.

Leased a new S90. Car was delivered with a vibration at highway speed. Car shouldn’t have been delivered at all. I’ve had the vehicle in my possession for a week. They have had it for 2.5 days of that week and are now unresponsive to my requests for a status update. Very disappointing for a luxury car.Flip side, the salesman Jeff Wells was amazing. I just wish the service delivery side was as good.

Purchased 2020 xc90 suv and negotiated a dog crate as part of the deal. The crate had to be ordered which took over 2 months to be picked up at service center in Bethesda.Back and forth (crates in and sorry not yet). Finally 3 months later my sales guy “Andre” accompanied me to pick up crate to install.As it would take some time to install and I did not have an appointment, decided to wait and then COVID hit.Finally, took the closed and never opened box containing crate to Bethesda Service last week to find out it’s only the Gate to the crate. My salesperson Andre is only interested in selling cars and not interested in maintaining clients and avoids my call. Kevin is no longer there and New Manager has yet to followup.More to come.

We recently purchased a new XC60 from Volvo of Bethesda. Overall, it was a great experience. They had the car we wanted in inventory. They presented a very good price the very first time. Our salesman, Zee Prokopic, was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle. We closed the deal and paid for the car remotely. Since I was from out of town, Zee came in on his day off to meet with me and give me the car. This car has some great technology and Zee was able to explain to me how everything worked because of his great knowledge. It was hands down the best car shopping experience I have ever had. I would highly recommend Zee and this dealership to anyone.

Both Derrick and Kathy have set an incredibly high bar when it comes to customer service. They were patient, accommodating, and understanding of our car needs, even if our purchase was made beyond Volvo. They took the necessary time to ensure that we made the right decision for us, not simply to put us in one of their cars at the end of the day. I bought my 2019 XC 60 T8 Inscription in Feb 2019 from Volvo Cars of Bethesda and I dealt primarily with the sales manager, Stefan St. John. Was it a perfect transaction? no, there were a few small issues that came up, but Stefan was able to handle them very professionally and we got the deal done that I was very happy with. 1 area where they went above and beyond was locating the T8 equipped in a manner I wanted in the Boston area and brought it to me. Of course the shipping was somewhere in my final price, but it was still lower than what other local dealers offered me. Other dealers only wanted to sell what was on their lot. I have enjoyed my T8 for over a year now and have used their service center on a few occasions, and they have looked after me very well. So it has been a very positive experience so far.

I’m so happy I found Volvo Cars of Bethesda. I I I had taken my S60 to Lindsay Volvo in Alexandria three different times, for the same “problem.” My miles-per-gallon reading was bouncing all over the place, from 0-99 mpg, every time I drove. The other place told me they “reset the system” and hopefully that would take care of the issue. Unfortunately, they did not check to see if the problem was fixed, and sent me on my way. Today, I came to Volvo Cars of Bethesda, hoping for a better outcome. Brenda came to my rescue! Even though she was not the service manager assigned to my car, she was helping to manage the line of customers, and took down my information. When I told her the problem, she immediately asked me if my car’s mpg setting was placed in the “instantaneous” mode? She quickly offered to come out to the parking lot and inspect my car’s settings. She expertly scrolled through the computer settings on my car’s dash and changed the settings, to fix the issue. In a matter of minutes, she fixed the problem which Lindsay Volvo never fixed, even after they had my car for 72 hours in total. Brenda knows her product, and she respects the customer’s time and effort. She was friendly and knowledgeable, and her help is truly appreciated! Thanks for getting me back on the road and into the office on time!

I received a coupon in the mail for a complementary oil change even though I did not purchase my Volvo from this dealership. I called to set up an appointment and they honored it. I worked with John Weir, Assistant Service Manager. He was GREAT. Friendly and Professional. The coupon also included an inspection of my vehicle. The mechanic pointed out 2 critical items that needed immediate attention. They did not pressure me to take action or try to SELL me. I very much appreciated that. I told them I would needed to discuss with my wife and call back to schedule. They said fine. The waiting room was very clean and pleasant. Overall I had a very positive experience at this dealership. Finally, as I walked out the door to pick up my vehicle, I noticed that they even gave it a car wash! This initial experience left me with a very positive view of this dealership.

Bought a used 2017 S60 from Ariel. Their location is pretty new and seamed to be under construction but do not let that discourage you from going in. All the staff were extremely nice and accommodating and I never felt pressure from Ariel the sales associate that I worked with. Although the VIP Services rep I met with had a hard time getting the hint that I did not want paint protection or any other up sold service. All in all it was a great experience.

Came in for a $100 part on Volvo original advice. Told needed $1200 work. Charged nearly $500 to change an overflow tank. Less than 2 hours work!!! Advised were replacing hosing but not done. Told needed cap for tank but original was fine at $50. Don’t do business here unless you want to get ripped off.

I purchased a brand new 2018 S90 T8 on 12/12/18. As I drove home, I noticed vehicle shaking above 60+ mph. I dropped the car for service on 12/22/18, the technician confirmed that the vehicle required new tires due to a lengthy period of time that vehicle sat on the lot. The tires were not stocked in the parts department and had to be ordered however prior to ordering the tires, General Manager approval was required. GM approval took 3 business days (not including Christmas day) thus delaying my tires. Another issue the finance departments lack of urgency to mail a check out to the credit union which held the title for the vehicle I traded in. As stated, I purchased the car on 12/12/18 and the dealerships finance department did not send a certified check to my credit union until 12/27/18. It was also not until I spoke with a POC in the finance department that action was completed. Finances delay causes me money, a very small and minute sum of money but its indicative of their lack of professionalism. Although I have owned my car for over 2 weeks, it has been in my possession for half the time since it has been with the service department.. The maintenance service light was on at time of purchase...details people! Lastly, service department dinged one of the wheels when they mounted the new tires. UGH

Knew what i wanted when i walked into the showroom so the sales rep got lucky they tried to pack a lot of unnecessary extras onto the price and when I declined they tried to put the extra cost elsewhere. said they would take care of returning old and getting new tags as part of their customer service. They lost my tags and never ordered new ones until I had to call., delaying the pick up of my new car. Now I am dealing with MVA and lost tags. Love my x60 though!

I thought despite the reviews, I would give this dealership the benefit of the doubt. Dont make this mistake. Luckily, I just had them do a diagnostic and give me a quote -- And they gave me a quotation for over $8000 of repairs, saying different hoses and valves had holes and were clogged, etc. etc. and acted like they were doing me a favor. I then took my car elsewhere for a second opinion, and they recommended about $200 and said all the hose and valve work was not necessary. The mechanics and staff here should not be trusted and are obviously just out to milk every customer for as much as they can.

Check engine light was diagnosed for $170. Pablo assured me that a detailed estimate would be provided, it has been nearly a month and nothing. I have a handwritten estimate with no specifics. He gave me and my Dad the run-around, and tried to make me buy a new car (the car is paid off). I plan on contacting the BBB and requesting a charge back because of services not rendered. Establishments like this give mechanics a terrible reputation.

Customer and sales service is pretty bad here. After 5 days corresponding with 4 different people I gave up trying to get an appointment to look at and test drive a Volvo XC60. Someone would reply to my email once and then stop responding only to be picked up by someone else who was equally unhelpful. Im going to go to the Volvo in Silver Spring instead which has much better reviews.

We were supposed to get a refund on another item, its been 7 months of follow up and calls and nothing. Volvo makes amazing cars, but go to another dealer!

Our sales person Kathy Johnson was truly outstanding in every way! My wife and I have purchased over 10 new cars in our lifetime and this was FAR AND AWAY the very best experience we have had. Kathy was extremely attentive, knowledgeable, compassionate, and best of all a fantastic advocate! Living over 1,000 miles away we were a bit nervous about buying a $68,000 car sight unseen. Kathy, along with the sales manager Stefan St. John put our hesitation at ease....and boy did they deliver...Literally! SALES: During an internet search for a new 2019 Volvo S60 T5 on 05/24/19, I received an email response from Daryoush “Danny” Javaherian at Ourisman Volvo of Bethesda. Over the next 4 days we exchanged 4 emails and countless texts. Early on I told Danny exactly what I wanted. He immediately found me two in stock, which already put them ahead of any of the 5 Volvo dealers closest to me. Then came the price. I did my research fairly extensively before reaching out to any dealers and Danny and the management team said they would be able to match the price I had hoped to get the car for without any haggling. They beat what any competitor was either willing or able to by more than $2,000. I simply told him what I wanted and how much I wanted to pay and Danny made it happen. Finally, my trade. I was trading in a 2016 Race Red Ford Mustang GT with 30,000 miles. Again, I researched and knew what a fair trade in would be. I texted a few pictures to Danny and he agreed to my trade in price. Wow, this was too good to be true. Or was it? Over the next few days I continued to text Danny, trying to figure out the “catch”, the “hidden costs”, the “sleight of hand”, etc. He continued to answer the texts, assuring me that the quote included everything. Finally, on the next to last day, probably to shut me up, he sent me a break down of the costs, including my trade in, rebates, tax, etc. Looked good. On 05/27/19, I decided to go ahead and make the two hour trip from my nice quiet country hometown in southern PA and head into the hectic city of Bethesda, MD. I had a little trouble finding where to park and texted Danny for help. He literally watched for me and flagged me down as I drove up the street. My wife, daughter and I spent several hours waiting for our turn in the financing department, but Danny filled our time having us test drive the S60, thoroughly going over the specifics of the car, and lots of good conversation about nothing in particular. Because we were there for a long time, Danny even shared some food with us, which by the way, was very good. Oh, there was no “bait and switch” or any other horror that I had been thinking had to be the reason for such a great quote. What Danny said is what Danny meant. So, we decided to buy the car.FINANCING: Financing was kind of a nightmare, but I must take responsibility for a decent portion of that. I was given an interest rate better than I could get through my credit union. It turns out though that the rate was based on me giving them the wrong number of months I wanted to finance, so I had to reapply for another loan. But, there were also computer problems that ended with us having to go through the signing process a third time! I believe that the person doing the financing may have been new or maybe new to the computer system because she ended up having another person come over to assist. In the overall scheme of things though, I wouldn’t say it was worthy of a negative review, just a bad day in the finance department, no evidence of a chronic issue.SERVICE: I live two hours away, and have 3 other Volvo dealerships within an hour of my home, so I don’t do any of my service with Ourisman.FOLLOW-UP: Danny has called me 3 times since we bought our car to check on the family and how we are liking the car. I promised Danny back in May that I was so impressed with this dealership that I would be doing a review of my experience. Today I remembered that I had forgotten to honor my word, thus this review today.In summary, Danny was the best car salesperson I have dealt with in the 13 new cars I have bought for my wife and I over the past 20 years. Given all of the extreme doubt I alluded to during our back and forth texting, I’m surprised Danny didn’t punch me out when I walked in the dealership. Instead, he kept the promises he made and delivered me a beautiful car at a very fair price. He should be considered a great asset to Ourisman VW/Volvo and from my experience at the dealership, he is a true representative of that dealership.

Do not buy a vehicle here. All new car dealers are hard to deal with, but the Ourisman team has lied to us on three occasions including telling me they tinted the windows when they literally didnt! If they think they can bully you in to believing they actually tinted your windows when they clearly didnt they must really hate their customers or think they are stupid. The finance manager also plainly lied about the cost of the extended warranty. Told us we would get a specific % discount and then charged us full price in the fine print. Volvos are great cars in my experience just do yourself the favor of buying from ANY other Volvo dealer than Ourisman.

I first visited Ouriman Volvo on a whim. We live in upstate New York and was visiting our daughter in Bethesda. Salesman Danny warmly greeted us and asked if there was anything that we would like to see. I told him that I was from NY and just looking. He was very very kind; not pushy or aggressive. I told him what I had in mind. He showed me some cars and explained features. We left and went back to New York.. I tried to find the Volvo at a dealership near me, but the customer service that I received at Ourisman and namely Danny was above all and I decided to drive 5 1/2 hours one way back to Bethesda to see Danny again the following weekend. We ultimately purchased a car from Danny. We will soon need another car and I will not hesitate to purchase from Danny again. He was so genuine and kind and truly appreciative that we purchased a car from him! I have never had such a wonderful experience at a car dealership.

The finance department is a SCAM. Make sure you get a financing somewhere else. They lie about the rates, your credit score etc. What they do is to use high-risk, high-rate companies, instead of major banks. I bet they get a cut for scamming people do use this financing. What a stupid strategy, so damaging in a long-term

Volvo S60 maintenance is as overpriced as I had expected: $1200 for 60K service, $2200 for timing belt, water pump replacement. $1200 for a new radiator. But I wanted the best for my Volvo, and it is not an easy car to work on. Nice to get genuine parts...my radiator was made in Poland just four months ago and has the Volvo brand label. The service manager and crew are excellent, with just a few minor complaints, like failing to use synthetic oil as requested, and failing to call when the car was ready. No loaner cars, but a shuttle to Metro if you dont Uber...overall a good experience at a cost.

I went to visit the guys at Ourisman Volvo and the quality of customer service provided was beyond my expectations. I called and inquired about a particular vehicle, we made an appointment, I arrived about 10 minutes early however the car was already cleaned up and fueled up ready for me to test drive. After a very straightforward and fair negotiation, I left in my brand new Volvo XC40!David Sperau, the general manager himself made sure to give me his business card and thank me for my purchase. I highly recommend this folks!!

The manager Solomon yelled at me on the phone. I believe it is because I am gay. He sold me a car and once I was on the road the car just shut off on the highway. My nephew and I were almost killed. I have a voicemail from him saying he will take back the car and offer a full refund. Today I get an email threating me because I explained how I felt. He is new there and has no idea what is going on. No email responses and no phone calls as promised. I am calling 7 on your side, my lawyer and I will not take back the car. I plan to also make sure all of Bethesda knows about this as I have witnesses.

My purchase of a new 2019 XC90 from Ourisman Bethesda can best be described as exemplary. From the start, Bill Martien (our salesman) was timely and accurate with all communication. I live out of state and we handled everything remotely, leading to a hassle free visit to pick up the vehicle Id chosen. I drove 500 miles to get it and 500 miles back home, and I would do it again no questions asked. The selection, pricing, and overall engagement sold me on this dealership throughout. The car was exactly as described. The pricing was exactly as agreed to. We were in and out in 90 minutes. And picking up the plates from my local DMV a few weeks later was trouble free, with all the paperwork being in order. My appreciation and thanks go out to everyone involved at Ourisman.

I recently made an appointment to negotiate the price of a Volvo XC40 that I custom ordered. I did my research beforehand to make sure I knew what kind of a deal I was getting, and I found a manufacturer’s leasing offer for $405/mo. with $3505 due at signing for a car with an equivalent MSRP. At the dealership, I was quoted $635/mo. with $4500 due at signing. This is an unconscionable markup. They told me that their manager told them not to go below $600 a month for this model “under any circumstances.” I plan to refuse delivery of the vehicle I ordered so I do not have to deal with these unethical businesspeople. I have reported their practice to Volvo corporate and hope a change can be made.

Awful service. Clearly a sales floor that stereotypes its customers. I wasted nearly an hour waiting to see a vehicle at this dealership. I watched them service THREE other customers who all came after me over the course of 45 minutes and then tell me they were short handed. Worst of all the clerk had the nerve to ask me if I was going to buy the car today after making me wait and servicing the other customers. I’m white but my wife and her mother who were with me are from El Salvador. I walked into this dealership showed them the EXACT car I wanted to buy with down payment in hand and they still ignored me. I will not do business here.

3 months ago I went to Volvo Bethesda looking to upgrade my ‘13 S60 to a new one. While all the same car dealership schtick applied here ( you know, the agent that tries to sell you all this coverage that’s a big waste of money) I leased a new S60.I received for my trade in car $1k cash back which they explained to me will be mailed once I make my first monthly payment.....3 payments (aka months ) later and 4 phone calls speaking to supervisors and finance dept, I am still without my $1000. I was told a check was sent out almost 2 weeks ago. USPS may be slow as I have yet to receive it, but I have to be on this dealership like ‘white on rice ‘ to get this doneIt shouldn’t have to be this difficult.Love my Volvo- dislike this dealership.Consider Volvo Silver Spring - the customer service has been great for servicing there so far.In response to the Owners Response:6/13/18-As a point of clarification : VOLVO SILVER SPRING HAS THE GOOD SERVICE DEPT , not Ourisman. I have been extremely disappointed with Ourisman, Volvo Cars of Bethesda. The buying experience was subpar, with long waits and terrible operations management. They had to make multiple copies of the customer copy of the paperwork because they kept losing their dealer versions. We were also promised a full interior and exterior detail. I did take the vehicle back to get this done, but a full detail it was not, nothing was cleaned. It seemed like they splashed water on the exterior and called it good. They didnt even bother to remove the adhesive from the protective shipping stickers. We never received the $75 amazon gift card we were promised - like others after multiple attempts I just gave up. In total, the dealership doesnt do anything to build long term loyalty. They are focused on earning a few extra dollars no matter what that does to the experience of the customers.While the customer service is terrible and I will never buy another vehicle from them, their vehicle service is even worse. They state that service is open until 7PM, however, they do not do any service after 3:30. Even if they only are completing a 1 hour routine maintenance item, they wont schedule anything after 3ish. I learned this the hard way because they scheduled a service for me at 3:45 then canceled the next day without providing any reasoning or notification. I only learned about it when I tried to drop off my vehicle for service.I have moved everything to a different dealership with better customer service. I know I shouldnt let a bad dealership cloud my judgement against the manufacturer, however given the automotive business model, I will not be looking to purchase a new Volvo. Short cited customer service has destroyed an long term customer loyalty Volvo could have received from me.

Here are details of my experience, which I emailed to the General Manager and I have not received a response.I didnt know that the location had changed, which luckily I asked about when making the appointment. The business card I had from last year was for the other location with a different phone #. I went online to find the # and made an appointment. When I drove to the service building I took a wrong turn into a mechanic on the same side of Butler Rd. who had a sizable sign that said Volvo and turned around and found the right location.It took 45 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I left for work with the loaner, which I found unacceptable. The service manager was clearly more interested in fixing a printer, which went on for some time, than assisting me. When I made the appointment, I made sure to provide several specific details that I wanted addressed, to the same service manager and when I got there, none of them had been entered in my record and I had to go over everything again. James, a service associate, did his very best to check me in as he had to manage all the customers. He was professional and courteous and I would recommend him.When I picked up my car it took them a while to bring it around and it was not washed, which I asked about when I dropped it off (only because I was pleasantly surprised when Euromotorcars did it on my initial service). Honestly, when I went to Euromotorcars, the service experience was very different. It was very focused on customer satisfaction. Funny thing, I had the same service manager at Euromotorcars, but shes clearly off her game. I dont know if the change relates to Ourisman buying the Volvo dealership, but its really changed. Unless theres a big change, after my final complimentary service, I plan to take my car to my local mechanic.

Overall the XC90 is an excellent car andI was able to find the car I loved through the Ourisman Volvo Cars of Bethesda Dealership. The showroom is close to my residence and the finance person Mr. Ash Choudhary is an excellent person to interact with. The sales representative could have thoroughly checked the car prior to delivery. Upon delivery, promised items such as all-weather mats were not included. Also, the voice activation feature was not configured correctly at delivery and I had to spend a considerable amount of time the following day to set this up. The Volvo On-Call pin was not provided at delivery and I had to remind the sales representative several times to send this over to me. At the end, his partner in the sales team accomplished that for me. Once the car was sold, the said sales representative at Volvo Bethesda was not very responsive. The experience could have been better if the sales person was more involved even after I signed the papers for the car. I also agree with another comment posted a week ago about the dealership - the woman sales person who tries to upsell various other insurance plans and service plans could do with a bit more sales training.

Made an appointment a week ago to look at a specific volvo. The appointment was confirmed by phone and email. When I walked in, it seemed like nobody knew who I was and what I was there for. The car I was to look at was not in the dealership. A salesperson drove me to their service location where they said the car was only to find out the car had been moved from there days ago.Wasted an hour and a half of my day. Left frustrated and disappointed. This place is a mess.
