I bought $20 worth of sausages, a whopping (3), and they were way way too salty! In addition to being just too smokey. Too pungent. Borderline inedible. So sad from such high quality meat!!

Expensive and high quality. Staff know their stuff, and you can get whole cuts of meat to portion at home.The butcher table is right in the middle of this small shop, nothing to hide and proud.

This place is really special. Even in the midst of a pandemic and heightened restrictions, they were running efficiently, safely, and as friendly as ever. Both the process ordering last week and picking up this week were so smooth and orderly. Oh, and the roast looks amazing!

I ordered on line and when the delivery driver gets to the butchers shop, the line to get into this place was 20 plus people deep. The driver excused himself to say and ask what are the delivery drivers to do my driver was told to call the numbers in the app or outside on a hand written sign. So driver asks what if its busy. The driver was told to wait in line then. WITH THIS COMPANY A LINE THAT IS 20 PEOPLE DEEP AND AN AVERAGE OF 10 MINUTES FOR EACH PERSON WHICH THIS INCLUDES EITHER ONE PERSON OR ONE GROUP INTO THE STORE AT A TIME THAT EQUALS TO 200 MINUTES MY DRIVER WOULD HAVE HAD TO WAIT THATS LONGER THAN 2 HOURS. So as a patron of this establishment what is the point of ordering on line to save time , definitely not money. If you have to wait in a 2-hour plus line just to receive your order when its sitting in the store waiting to be picked up this makes no sense to me I dont understand what is so complicated about allowing delivery drivers to bypass a line to pick up deliveries that are ready to be picked up

These folks are absolutely spectacular! Ive been several times and the experience is always first rate. So much so that Im signing up for the Monthly Butcher Box. My only criticism is that they need to open a Shop in Marin so I dont have to drive the hour round trip. Plan ahead if you are going and buy in bulk. Its worth the trip.

Yeah I dont know what happened but I came in to get a leg of lamb. They had some cuts without the bone. I just wanted the whole leg bone in. The guy then gets out the lamb, cuts the leg off, cuts the ankle, de bones it just like I did not ask for, then realized he messed up and wraps the meat around the bone and ties it, hoping I wooudlnt notice. Also charged me by the pound for it like the bonless cut could be... These are your butchers. He had a cool mustache though

It’s, as the name implies a butcher shop also , offering locally sourcedchicken, beef, pork , a variety of meats to buy to go.Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, friendly.Prices moderate. This was my first experience with haggis and the Local Butcher Shop did not disappoint. Ordered a 5 lb haggis here for a Burns Night Supper and only two of our fifteen or so guests had tried haggis before yet everyone was pleasantly surprised. The flavor lies somewhere between cajun boudin (pork liver and rice sausage) and scrapple. Im a big fan of both of those so the haggis suited my tastes well. Though it didnt need it, our haggis was complemented by a cream whisky sauce and a brown beef/red currant gravy (recipes found online) which made it astonishingly delicious. The leftover haggis was also great with eggs and toast for breakfast. Will be back to order another for Burns Night Supper next year; good job, Local Butcher Shop!

The best butcher, but you do pay full price

On New Years Eve, I went to the shop to buy a steak for my wife and me to have for the special evenings dinner.. I asked for the best they had, and was told a NY steak would be the best and was very tender. the two steaks turned out to be very tough and far from delicious. Ion a restaurant, we would have sent them back. My wife said it was one of her worst meals ever.

Love this place. You walk in and you see the freshest lookin meat, plus all the staff has outstanding swag.The sandwiches are damn amazing, succulent and tender. Im a sous chef, so often Ill grab a sandwich and throw it in the oven at work for a crisp bread.I havent gotten to my favorite part. Da bone broth. Bro. This is where Im getting all my meat now. Their sources are incredible. Super humane and sustainable. Highest quality Ive found around here. They have bones, organs, stocks, broths, fat...whatever youre looking for.

Tried the pork breakfast sausage. Fat content too high. A little too salty. Does not need sugar. Will not form or stay formed as a patty. Breaks into crumbles when cooked. Aside from that the flavor is pretty good.

BEST SHOP EVER! Love me some good meats! Only problem is the Nazis hanging around outside occasionally dripping in fake blood and accosting people. I still go anyway because there is no place better than here. Hope they take that stupid animal rights sign down. I dont care who says anything, keep the propaganda away from my yummy meats!

The staff here are awesome. Supremely helpful with selecting and recommending meats. The sando of the day always either looks great (i see it on facebook) /tastes great (i have seen it and i have to eat it).Have purchased a pork butt, breakfast sausages, and bacon here. all SO good. their dog treats are devoured by my boyfriends dog in a matter of seconds; she loves them so much.Try the beef jerky-it is THE BEST.

The meats are wonderful. Best squab and quail I have ever had. Best sausage I have purchased in the United States. Try the pork chops.

Its hard to find lard these days, at least around here. They have it. And Schmaltz! Is it expensive? Yes. But you are getting what you pay for including: Local Origin, Humanely Raised, Expertly Butchered - to order with advanced notice!
