Honest folks. Very good communication. Did their research on my car’s problem and gave me good/reasonable advice on how to proceed. Will definitely return for any issues with my Subaru.

First time Subaru owner. I was having a hard time finding a shop that was looking out for my best interest with a knowledgeable staff that produced quality work. After some searching a I’ve had 5 people recommend TD Garage and boy where they right. Leanne And Kia have been super helpful and taken the time to explain throughly the issues of my vehicle and where very accommodating. Thank you to the whole TD Garage team.

Ive been to TD Garage in Berkeley a handful of times now from oil changes (I dont touch my own car) to brake pad and rotor installation. TD has super cool guys, super cheap, and appear to be doing quality work. Hes also got a right-hand drive Skyline as his daily, so you know theyre serious.

Super knowledgeable staff, more so than a Subaru dealership. They know and love Subaru’s, especially my 15 year old one. Shop is very scrappy and a little disorganized, but totally worth it for the expertise.

My car was broken into and there was extensive damage done. I found this very stressful but the people at Td garage were very accommodating. Special thanks to Leanne and Mike. Thank you very much for making things right. Cheers!

Be aware: this place is not associated with Subaru in any way shape or form they are simply an independent shop that does not have any Subaru trained Techs. Please don’t fall for their gimmicks. The work that is done there is not backed and I will not take my car anymore!

Super nice and knowledgeable. They try to fit you in as fast as possible. Wouldnt take my wrx anywhere else.

Took my Scion FR-S here and Kia at the front desk is very nice and accommodating. The tech also took time to take a test drive with me instead of brushing me off. Great shop and the price was cheaper than other shops ive been to around Oakland and Alameda to boot. Will definitely return!

Awesome place, super friendly, knowledgeable, and honest people. You can tell they take the honest approach to keep long term customers rather than trying to make a buck on someone that doesn’t know much about cars.

I made the mistake of trusting TD Garage to rebuild my Subaru Impreza motor. 23K problem plagued miles later, my car died on the way home from work after a piston blew a hole thru the engine block. This is my experience... Picked up the car after motor build to find the power steering pump whining and steering wheel shaking. When I took it back they said they didnt touch the pump during the rebuild. So I paid them to replace the pump. Next time I tried turning on the AC it no longer worked either. I took it back and again was told they dont touch that during the rebuild either. I was quoted $800 to fix it. Brought the car in for a engine break in oil change and was told my steering column was leaking and needed to be replaced. Took it to another shop for a second opinion and was informed that oil was leaking from both sides of the engine and they couldnt tell if the column leaked because oil was everywhere. TD Garage replaced both valve cover gaskets. It still was consuming 1 quart of oil per 1k miles. Not good. The car ran rough and I was told the aftermarket coil packs were to blame(had not been an issue before rebuild). One blew so they installed the 4 original ones. One blew again, and they installed 4 new ones. I paid for all of this. After the new coils where installed, I again took it back because it had a new sound going on and not a good one. The owner angrily drove off in my car, returned the keys to me and said the car is fine. Now well over $10k later and 23k miles on the car the motor is blown. The owner told me there was nothing he could do because he did the build 3 years ago and their warranty is only a year. He apologized for the low miles I got out of it and informed me he no long was doing motor builds because the warranty had become an issue for him. I now have no car.

Taken my 02 Subaru wagon here whenever I need work. I’ve had a couple of common problems with the car. First was a rattling due to bad transmission bearing and the second was with the ac high side return hose. For both these issues I took my car to a local shop, and they suggested replacing more components than necessary. Kia and his team are great.

Great shop for Subarus new and old. Brought my newly purchased (used) car in for a buyers check, Kia got it tuned up, gave it a full inspection and alerted me to some work that will need to be done down the line. I was in and out just hours after I called, and they patiently answered all my questions. Definitely coming back!
