Nicely managed relatively large store, convenient location, the car parking spot might be a headache. I wish this store had at least one computer for customers to use. Also, the saddest part is this store was almost empty. Need to find the new way to attract more people to visit this nice store.

Pegasus Books is my favorite bookstore! They have a great selection and they have the best buy back program.

Im always impressed by the variety! The staff was friendly & helpful. I love that they sell zines by local writers/activists-- you should by one w/ your purchase, I think its the mindful thing to do. Impressive zine selection :)

Always have and can get it ,in short time. They need to bring back % low cost days, and for books you can order.

You can always get quirky finds and treasures at this bookstore. Depleted stock after Covid but still a good bet for unusual books in anthropology and art.

Been going to this book store since I was a wee thing, I swear half of my library comes from them. Amazing content and wonderful, knowledgeable people behind the counter always.

Love this place. Super helpful staff. Really great selection of books and notebooks and planners. Their calendar sale is so much fun. Love their cats too. They are always helpful over the phone in finding used books or ordering new books when Im looking for something.

Love love L 0 V Epegasus book store in berkeley! this book store has all the most useful, interesting, and just incredible literature. if you ever get the chance, i highly recommend stopping by.however you gotta make sure you’re giving yourself time to look around at not only all the books but all the lil knick knacks too and the only downside is the hours/: pegasus closes @ 5p.m., which is a real big bummer for those who have day jobs and live more than 10min away such as myself. but one day in the near future, i will carve out enough time to stop by again to meander about & most likely purchase the kitty tarot cards finally;)

So glad its open. Books, cards, used music CDs, magazines, pens and even socks! I saw a whole set of used Nero Wolfe mysteries and picked up one I was missing. Annual calendar sale is coming up.

Always a pleasure to start my new year on Day One, choosing three calendars and/or datebooks (of varying styles, sizes, and subjects) for (this year, 2019), $12. This deal goes on week after week, until all calendars are sold. Plus, its my default bookstore in Berkeley: great stock, great staff, engaging talks for booklovers, intros to writers all year long.

A Landmark of Berkeley, Pegasus has been there since the sixties I believe. Very interesting selection of books and Music. The only reason I dont give them five stars is that theyre not big enough to stock the number of books I would love to sit and wander among very nice people

This bookstore rocks! The staff are always friendly and helpful. Their selection is great, with a mixture of used and new titles. You can also find some rare books here, including signed copies of books. They always have carts out front with super discounted titles, some of which are gems (in other words, it isnt just a bunch of garbage titles). Just be careful as you walk around as the flooring changes elevation all over the place with a mixture of ramps and short steps. They also have some movies for sale and other bookstore type knickknacks. Visit this place! Conveniently located near the downtown Berkeley BART station.

Local bookstore thats been there for ages. Good for finding common books, but you might have trouble if youre looking for something obscure or very specific. Nice little local section, too!

Great classic Berkeley book store vibe with the cat and everything. There selection can feel limited but they have mostly any popular title. I find what Im looking for here often. I once purchased a signed copy of Lincoln in the Bardo here unexpectedly which was very pleasant.They also always have an excellent calendar selection.

Great selection of new and used books. Check out the remainders tables for bargains. You can sell books for cash or credit, but the staff are understandably selective about what they take. If they dont think they can sell your books at this particular time, they wont take them off your hands. If you want to sell, you might call in advance before making the trip over.

Real place to find your need

I love local bookstores and this one was no exception. Everything was tightly packed, but well labeled. The prices for used and new was reasonable. And we found a new book to take to with us. The employee was pleasant and seemed very helpful.

I like to come here sometimes just to sit with the cats.

2 or 3 books of interest on the outdoor bookracks — however Im mostly interested in Expository works ( publishers and elementary school libraries refer to it as a Non as in putting that word Fiction in a form of naming its opposite Fiction/Non-Fiction ).Mostly older books about populist fiction or throwaway unspecific books.I should have gone inside, however I dont need anymore books — just need to study linguistics again only seriously this time...

These lovely bookstore are sprinkled throughout Berkeley and this one does not disappoint. Its a small store with a combination of used and new books that also carry magazines. The staff are great. Parking can be an issue and you will have to feed the meters. Will return soon. I returned a few days after my review to pick up a book I ordered. On second look, my four stars went up to 5 stars. Who doesnt love a good bookstore and in this age of Amazon and megastores, the sensory feel and smell of ink has always been intoxicating to me, if only they had a bar! Worth your valuable time to roam.

Amazing book selection at fantastic prices. They got in a bulk order of unique books before I went in and I found an antique copy of Thaïs from 1920 with beautiful art. Stuff members were great and helpful.

A gem in the city of Berkeley. We found books for kids and enjoyed the vibe of the place.Hoping that it can stay around as other local businesses seem to be closing.

While a little small compared to other bookstores in Berkeley, Pegasus has a great selection and decent prices although they are not known for bargain bin shopping. Nevertheless, the employees have consistently provided an amicable environment and I highly recommend this store on your journey through the city!

A quirky Berkeley book store. Not a Barnes&Borders.

They have well organized books, plus they carry interesting zines, have some records, and an interesting set of DVDs. Basically the store is worth a visit even if youre not just looking for a good book, but youll likely discover one you didnt know you wanted because of how well presented the books are.

Its easy to support your local bookstore when they have as wide a selection of books (including a shelf of Used New Arrivals) and loyalty rewards.

Dont bother selling books to them. Theyre pretty elitist about what they take and they give you an insulting amount of cash back. Youre better off donating them all to Goodwill. At least then you know some good comes out of it.

This is a bookstore for the ages. Plenty of knowledgeable and kind assistance. A variety of tips on cards on the books themselves. I have been visiting Pegasus at one location or another since the Pendragon days. Amazon has almost nothing on these guys; what they might lack in volume they make up for in warmth.

Hmmm. We love book stores. But this place has neither the panache of the new book stores like Barnes & Noble, nor the prices for a used book store. I guess you gotta have a special pupose to come here.
