Great high end, gourmet, speacialy retailer carrying top notch products it is pricy but the quality of the product are top of the line all imported and well made. As someone who loves to cook I love all the imported quality items the staff is helpful. Ever since bankruptcy though they do not quite carry as much of all the items they used to prior to financial issues due to the pandemic but they still carry all the merchandise.

I love to cook so what can I say but that I love everything in their store. They came out to the curb to accommodate me when I was returning an item. This wasn’t something they normally do, but they were willing to respect my pandemic concèrns. I would say they really accommodated me!

The staff at this store is very friendly and knowledgeable. My only reason to withhold a star is the somewhat empty shelves. I am sure theyvwill be back up to full inventory soon! ❤

I came during a very busy day leading up to Christmas. April assisted me with my purchase. They didn’t have what I wanted but she directed me to an alternative. I purchased it with a gift receipt for my partner. Today we came back because my partner wanted something else as I thought he might. Not only did April remember me but the actual details of our conversation. I am in retail as well and understand how many people we meet daily. For her to remember me and the details of my partner I shared was amazing! I will be coming back for sure. Thank you for treating your employees well enough for them to want to actually service your customers.This is how you do it!

Well it started with a Cyber Monday sale on what I believe was a fantastic 1/3 off a set of Cole & Hamlin set.When I went into Sur La Table I asked for the set and was told that wasnt the price. I proceeded to show him the offer, and while he couldnt explain it, I did. This ad is very misleading, even the customer service representative for Sur La Table quickly agreed. No, the manager wont accommodate you despite the misleading headline, which they know is what you first see. I was then told by the clerk in the store, which is where I made the call to their customer service, that it never stated it was a pair.Fair enough, but the real point as to why I felt I I should be accommodated is that it DOESNT say each. So thats their mistake, intentional or oversite it met the criteria for them to honor the misleading ad. All for,what to them is miniscule $25.00, and in my opinion their mistake!In summation I would say that their customer service is truly lacking and the rude way I was spoken by the manager Richard, just goes to show that to many companies see customer service as customer confrontation. I now add Sur La Table to that list.

First, La Verne is the perfect employee...she is Friendly, gracious, and really knows her stuff!My friend and I were shopping yesterday-I do love the bargain corner in the far left.I also love the beautiful Italian pottery. When I was there they were preparing bread to put out with a dip. The staff cutting it put her hand on the bread after handling cash, with no paper or napkin. I asked the other employee if this was SOP, looked over to see her wipe her face then grab the bread again. He did not see any deviation from normal practice and did not understand the question, as we watched her rub her perspiration on the food. So yes SOP. Disgusting. Standard upscale cooking goods, But I will go elsewhere in the future because, honestly, gross.

A good selection and in a nice location with lots of parking. All of the vanilla products are kept behind the counter, so you have to ask an associate for help. In my experience, they don’t always have everything that the website says is in stock in the store.

The best Kitcheware Store for miles. Easy parking and easy shopping. Hard not to pick up a few fun items. Great displays. and quality. The far left Corner of the Store is The Bargain Area - wonderful all year long and esp post Christmas. Italian pottery and tea-towels are hard to resist.

I like sur la table, they have great stuff, great selection and quality. But what I dont like is how the store is organized. You can find whisks in 5 different areas, and the same with pans, pots and bowls. I get it that they organize by collection, but I dont like it. The knives are centralized which is nice but they are at a premium price. Thus the 3 stars

I like that Sur La Table is here - if you want to pick up high-quality cooking items quickly, this is the place to come. But, its not cheap - they mostly focus on higher-end items, and regular prices are not super cheap. Waiting for a sale can help.I wish they had more of a focus on good-quality non-fancy items.

0.0% customer service. No customers in the store, but staff wasnt interested in helping, despite cruising past a number of times. I was pretty shocked. I didnt care enough to ask for it, but thought it was weird no one even asked if I needed help.

I can always find what I need here. Every little utensil and small appliance is here with the latest design. For example, I started making cookies and couldnt find my zester. Fortunately the store was still open. I couldnt find it so the friendly employee took me to the right aisle. There were five different zesters! Found the perfect one and picked up a few last minute gifts for my husband. He preps the strawberries for our fruit salad with a paring knife so I bought a strawberry slicer for him. He asked for a small spatula to scrape the last bit out of jars. He needed one of the jar spatulas! Then I finished my shopping with a package of baking yeast. Now Im ready to make some cinnamon rolls for the holidays.

High-end cookware and machinery, that falls between fancy home appliances for cooking, and an industrial supply store. Incredible selection of knives, and the east bays best place to get a Vitamix blender. (I dropped a panic inducing amount of money on mine, which now a year later still serves me well)Nice people, very knowledgeable.

I like the store concept for offering large selection at low prices. This Sur La Table is in the large side and in a good neighborhood so it has that. But parking on weekends requires patience or walking a few extra blocks because it shares a small lot.

Found exactly what we were looking for: an awesome set of Zwilling knives. Definitely a nice little shop to check if you like cooking.

I went in for the first time to get my son a birthday gift. He does most of the cooking in his home. I found some nice gadgets he should be please with and used their 2day shipping. Funny they use the same company I would have used but charged at least 1/3 to 1/2 less.

Helpful staff was very attentive and patient in explaining how the nescafe stuff works. This location has a good selection and great location in the middle of the fourth st shops. parking can be terrible though, so go earlier or later in the evening.

Our family had awful experience with this shop ! Be attentive !! If you, guys, will buy any expensive product, they will say you can not return it after 30/ or 60 days ( depends of...). We bought that famous round forms for baking pies, and after 60 days they was broke !!! The locks was burned and fell off !!! It is inadmissible !( I am processional baker, and baking minimum 3 days a week ! ) When we back to shop, they said that we can not return, and they dont want to change products or give money back. And their behavior was impossible rude !!! They even not apologized ! It looks like it was my problem i bought those forms from them. I extremely not recommend this shop for buy something important. And they dont care about customers, dont believe advertisement.

Very rude staff. Not only are they rude to customers, they have a bizarre dynamic and argue with each other. We bought over $1000 worth of stuff there a few months back and were told we would receive 30% off our next purchase. They refused to give us the discount, claiming that we should have received an email and to check our spam. No email, and no discount. This place sucks!

This store is planted firmly in the middle of Berkeleys Fourth Street shopping/dining district which is extremely popular on weekends!

Great customer service on a busy shopping day!

Im only putting four starts because it was so crowded. The way the salespeople handled my aversion to this crowd is deserving of 5 stars, and the reason why Im writing.I had the mixed blessing of a gift certificate to this store from my shopaholic family. I am not a shopaholic, so this was as much a curse as it was a blessing. But they have nice things, many of them shiny, and I like cooking, so there I was, hyperventilating in the throngs of happy shoppers, looking for ways to spend my plastic money.First, one very nice saleswoman let me know of the back patio where I could get some air. When I returned, she was sensitive to my parking meter situation (Note: take quarters, parking in that area is all meters with vigilant, merciless meter maids) and she referred me to a very knowledgable saleslady, Chevon, who whisked me through the store so that I might get the immersion blender most suited to my needs (she has the same one in green, and recommended it), the prices on the cake pans, the best deal on cake decorating tools (explaining that they are not all standard sizes, which I didnt know), and a clear understanding of the line, all within the 15 minutes I had before my meter expired and/or I exploded from overexposure to other shoppers.I felt like one of The Beautiful People. I left thinking, This must be how the other half lives, and inspired to make lots of money so that I could be treated like that all the time.It bears mentioning that my mother dragged me in there on another occasion, and they were just as nice, making her coffee from a machine with a price tag that may as well have been made out of the neck feathers of baby hummingbirds, and they offered me water and the extra foam from the steamer (because thats how I roll). Whats important, though, is that I dont ooze money, and they treated me fancy anyway. That counts for a lot.

General good quality products, though also generally over priced. Ive shopped here several times with the assumption that when Id have some real questions or issues with a product I would have a real person wanting to help me. Unfortunately that was not my experience. The first people I asked about my mixer didnt have any real knowledge of how it worked. Ok. But then without even looking at it, I was told by the manager that my mixer worked fine. After clearly repeating the problem I was having, the manager admitted also not knowing the product. The manager then found a 4th person who really knew the product. This person also did not look at my mixer, but again told me it was working as expected. And because I was a few days past the 60 day return policy, they said they couldnt help me further and I would need to contact the manufacturer directly. They clearly dont want my business.

Sur La Table is a beautifully laid-out store to browse and this branch is no exception; however, its extremely expensive compared to purchasing the same items online. Still, I suppose you pay a little extra to spend time in the store itself and talk with their employees to find the kitchen items best for your personal kitchen.

Better by far than other outlets across the bridges. Helpful folks, nice amount of space, good selection but didnt have one of their house brand utensils I was seeking.

Upscale cookware chain, lots of great quality pots, pans, knives, small appliances and serving wares. Its rather expensive, but there are occasionally good deals in the discontinued goods section.

Great chilaquilles for breakfast, my wife and son had the torta de jamon,I had a bite so tasty, my daughter had a torta Al pastor also very tasty, the service here is wonderful (great) if I come back to Berkeley I Know where in going to eat some Mexican food.Price wise ok not like L.A one taco here is $4 .25 just 1 taco, a crispy taco which is also just 1 crispy taco no rice no beans sorry I guess because Im use to L.A tacos I thought those crispy tacos would at least be more than one if not at least with some beans and rice. But to be honest great flavor and great service by everyone 👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏

Horrific customer service. The clerks and the manager were straight up rude and unhelpful. The stuff they sell here can be bought at countless other stores, and for probably less money. Save yourself the trouble and shop elsewhere.
