I have great memories of Robie bookstore from 2009 through 2012 when I was as student at Berea. I love that they are a small bookstore and their collection is vast and interesting. I remember buying tons of Virginia Woolf at one point, and was always impressed that they seem to carry more poetry than big box stores. I got to know the friendly workers, and remember many of them. I hope everything is going well with Robie considering recent times. Somehow I imagine they are humming away, somehow still distributing much needed books to area readers.

First time there and I absolutely love the place. I love to read and even though you can read books online, to me, theres nothing like curling up with a good book in your hands. There are so many books in this place. All are in very good condition. They have hardcover and paperback. A good variety of genre too. Anyone who enjoys reading and likes to do it old school style will definitely enjoy Robie Books. I got lost in my own little world for a couple hrs and left extremely happy with some very good finds 😊.

Robie Books is a very casual bookstore selling new and used books, art supplies, stationary, and music. Its a great place to spend time browsing and reading a little. Its friendly and comfortable, and the staff doesnt pressure you. Prices are really good on their used books. There are clearance tables where prices are rock bottom. There is a large selection, and they will order a new or used book for you. My favorite thing to do there is just to look around and spot an unexpected treasure.This bookstore is now closed permanently due to the coronavirus pandemic.

They have a lot to choose from every genre of book you could think of. Its very clean and organized and the staff is very helpful. Also, they have used books at very low prices, so I love it!

Quiet bookshop with seating and loads of surprises. New books and wonderful older and used books. The stock is always changing due to donations, so it pays to stop in whenever you can. Staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and happy to let you spend the afternoon browsing. A great place to look for books by local authors.

One of the best bookstores Ive been to in my life. Its the kind of place you can spend an afternoon. I always walk out with a stack of books and art supplies for under $20 that was easily cost at least $60 elsewhere. Theres also a bunch of good restaurants nearby so I usually get a couple books and head over to noodle Nirvana or native bagel to snack and flip through my new books. The owners always give great book recommendations too.

While waiting with my brother-in-law for our wives to get out of a baby shower, we wandered into this book store, for lack of knowing anywhere else to go in a part of the state neither of us lived in. What we found was a book store of remarkable variety, unique-bordering-esoteric selections, and very reasonable prices. It has shelves full of Philosophy, military history, psychology, practical living guides, science, sociology, childrens books, biographies, and Kentucky authors. There were so many unique books at such little cost that I had a painfully hard time limiting myself! In the end I left with (an old-ish first edition, 40 years) The Politics of Protest, How Immigration Became Illegal, and a copy of a How to Win Friends and Influence people, a book I had lost some time ago. You definitely should go and check it out for yourself.

What an amazing selection and super friendly staff

I usually love this place, but the prices seem to be a bit higher than normal lately. A few used books I was going to purchase were several dollars more than what I could find new elsewhere. And I do feel the person at the front desk should be a bit more welcoming when customers walk into the shop. Walked in and someone was at the front desk and didnt even so much as look up to say hello or ask if I needed help with anything.

Best book store around. Even around Lexington. They have tons of used books, but they have an interesting and superb selection of books. And its a cute little Berea place. Never disappointed with the stack of books I always take home.
