My daughter and I had the best time on the river thanks to Tumalo. We rented 2 SUPs for 2 hours. The staff was super friendly and answered any question we had. This will be a must do when we come to visit our daughter living in the most beautiful spot in Oregon.

We had an amazing time! The process of renting the tubes, being shuttled to the launch point, then being picked up by the shuttle after we completed our float was seamless. The time frame getting your equipment and hearing the safety briefing was short and very informative, which is a bonus when the kids are excited and bouncing around everywhere. All the staff we interacted with, from start to finish, were super friendly and polite. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the Bend, Or. area and wanting to float the River to go through this company. They’ve made loyal customers out of my family and I.

Paddle boarding rental is $30 for one hour and $40 for two hours. The launching location is right in the store’s backyard, so it is very efficient. And the store’s parking lot is huge. The water is very calm. Half of the river trail is less than 3 foot deep, so it is very safe for beginners. My wife and I are not beginners, so it is not challenging for us at all. But it’s still fun going up the river and seeing people along the river bank. The people in the store are very friendly.

Wow! Tumalo Creek Kayak is THE BEST! My sister and I took took a couple of single kayaks out on the river for 2 hours yesterday and we cant say enough good things about the whole experience. Hannah was flexible, patient, kind, and informative. She made it an adventure for us! The kayaks were in top notch condition, and the check-in and check-out process was super smooth. Well definitely rent here again. Thanks!!

What a fun experience and so well organized. We were greeted, given safety info and loaded up. Dropped off right at put-in point and given instructions how to navigate and where to get out. Such a fun family outing! We all loved the Fish Ladder rapids and would highly recommend. Not scary at all, just fun and cools you off! Shuttle back was great. Tubes were super sturdy and comfortable!

When in Bend, we always rent tubes from Tumalo to float the Deschutes. Do it online, go to the Park & Float, get your tubes, get shuttled to and from. Easy peasy. The only drawback is you can wait a long time to get on the shuttle at the start and at the end. Its only because so many people are on the river though! Do it on a weekday if you can.

Online reservations were very simple and easy to complete. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful to our group of ladies and first timers!!!! We all had a blast and will do it again very soon.

This was a great experience! It was super easy to book and get right on the river. We had no trouble with the shuttle and didnt wait at all. The tubes are great and durable. We saw several pool type floats pop in the rapids. It took us about 2 hours total, we spent a little extra time at the rapids as we did it a few times.

Good size tubes for plus sized riders. Very sturdy and heavy duty. Shuttle service was so convenient. All the staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. Very accommodating after we had to reschedule due to weather. Thanks for awesome first experience floating the river!

Great experience!! We reserved tubes online (including our shuttle passes) and everything was just seamless. Parking is free, instructions were easy, Shuttle was great etc etc. Great staff. We had a great time floating down the Deschutes river. We also rented water booties for our visitors for $10/day.

Easy service. We rented from their Park & Float location. This was easily our most fun activity of the trip. About the float: I wasnt sure how strong the river was and how deep. For this float portion, the majority of the river was not deep, a short adult could stand up, and the river was very calm, low key and slow float. In total, from arrival to return it was ~2.5 hours including the rental and bus time. My kids were concerned about floating for a long time but it 1) wasnt long, just right and 2) everyone loved it. Tumalo Creek made it easy.

These guys take allllll the work out of floating. We love this company! Every time we are in Bend, they take care of us. Well worth the money to be shuttled from the parking lot to the top of the float, and then back to your car when you’re finished. Floats provided! Fun guaranteed. If this is your first time going kayaking I wouldn’t recommend it. Trying to go upstream without turning around and keeping your balance was quite a trick but once you hit the forth bridge and turn around and go with the current it is a lot easier and more fun!The staff was super friendly!!

Easy, well-oiled process for getting your tubes and floating. Know ahead of time that they do not allow tubes to be tied together, so keeping your party within talking distance can be a challenge!

My family (wife 13 yr old and 10 yr old) rented tubes and floated the river it was fantastic. From rental to finishing back at our car was perfect. Having the shuttle is such a great perk. We were in town for a soccer tournament for the 10 year old unfortunately it was canceled due to smoke conditions and rafting made up for the disappointment. Would highly recommend. We definitely will do it again when we come back

Very fun--nice staff. Just wish the shuttle buses ran more frequently (every 20 minutes can feel very long on a hot day!) and that the tubes were all the same style/size. Thank you for a fun and memorable time.

So much fun! Tubes were high quality, shuttles were fast and on time. After trying it once, we bought our own tubes and will continue to use the shuttle ($5 if you bring your own tube)

My 86 year old dad really wanted to canoe on the water and the folks at Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe came through. The young man that helped us kept my dads pride in tact and literally got down on all fours to help him get into the canoe. It was near closing time and nobody even hesitated to jump into action to make this epic float happen!! Im a forever fan!

Best way to float the river if you dont have your own gear. Super easy, park, check in, get on the shuttle and enjoy the river, shuttle there at the end to take you right back to your car, with no hassle. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Parking lot seemed very safe and secure.

We had a great time! This was our first time tubing. It was highly recommended by our local friends. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Loved having transportation provided to the launch point and from the final destination. The rapids were our favorite part. Our kids (9,7) were able to manage the rapids themselves. We did it at least three times. Try to aim down the center rapids to minimize getting stuck in the eddy. I highly recommend Tumalo Creek and tubing!Update: We had such a great time we did it again! We went on Saturday and got there around 10:30am and there was little wait. We learned to stay in the middle of the river to ride the faster current down the river. This made for less paddling and getting stuck in the eddies. It definitely got busier about 30-60 min later. Thanks again Tumalo Creek!

We had the best time visiting with each other as we floated the river. No one warned us that we would get soaked by the rapids. We may have decided to portage the floats so we wouldnt get chilled late in the day when the sun was setting. Thankfully, the bus was heated!

Some friends were in town visiting from back east. They wanted to kayak with me and we rented from Tumalo Creek. One of my friends had issues with the seat back and Aaron adjusted it right off. After 30 more minutes paddling he had issues and turned around. Urging us to continue upstream, we left him and he returned to find no one there to assist him. No amount of yelling got their attention and he was unable to exit his kayak safely to look for assistance. So he paddled around aimlessly nearby the dock. Perhaps Tumalo needs to install a large bell with a rope so folks can alert the staff for emergencies. The 2 of us returned to the dock area near the time, others were there also needing help but there was no one around. So one of us called them on our cellphone. [The friend with the bad seat back didnt take his phone on the water, as he didnt own a drybag] Aaron came out and assisted us all out of the water. We told Aaron of the issues our third person had and how he tried to get help. He said to go inside and hed get a partial refund, prob $20. We did that & he got just a $10 rebate. But he lost out on the trip and was unable to paddle much at all. We were very disappointed at the lack of empathy for his losing out on the paddling trip, as well as the inability for any of us to alert staff except by telephone. Please look into another method to contact the staff indoors. [I have usually seem staff sitting out on their back deck checking the water for boaters to return, but not yesterday] :-(

The whole process was flawless and so well laid out. Will definitely do it again and our driver, Anna Rose and Axle were amazing to interact with. Incredibly personable and not your typical young adults on their phones. So refreshing.

Loved the simplicity of the rental and shuttle. Had a large obnoxious group of grown men out here to float and the staff handled everyone and the situation great. Each staff member we talked to was informative and understanding, each one made us feel very welcome. We will return and use you all again

It is early in the season on a cloudy weekday right when they opened so we were the first on the river and it was awesome that it wasn’t packed with people! So relaxing! The online reservation system was a breeze! They were well set up and efficient at the meet up area. Just a short ride to the river. It went a little faster than we thought so we were waiting at the end for about 15 minutes. Next time we will do the rapids section twice to fill up the time. So much fun! Getting a lapfull of water at each drop was refreshing and added a bit of excitement. Don’t know what that would have been like on a busy day but we had a great, relaxing and quiet time on the water.

We had so much fun floating the river! It was such a wonderful day. We only used the shuttle service because we had our own floats. The staff managing the shuttle were so friendly & helpful, they loaded our floats, gave us tips & advice for a great experience. It was a very convenient service!

My family and I all had a great time tubing! Reservations were easy, the sign in, set up and transportation was also easy and convenient! We will definitely do it again next year when we go back to OR!

With my 86 year old very experienced canoer I took my dad out on a sunny morning on the mill pond. A door greeter gave us great advice, then Aaron and another guide helped us get our gear and out to the water. after we finished Aaron was there to meet us at the dock. an awesome experience.

Ok, so I dont ever do reviews, but with the quality of service that I have had from these guys, I thought I should. I have purchased boats and accessories since 2016, and every time they exceed my expectations. Went in again today for some small part for my Hobie, and they had in stock at a great price. Every time I come in or call, they are super helpful. Will continue to support them when I can, and I would not buy a boat from anyone else!

Reserved the river tubing. It was well run, park your car, check-in, listen to a short safety briefing, line up to go into the city shuttle bus (WEAR A MASK), get driven to the starting point of the floating on your tube and it was nearly 2 hours on the water!! Sooooo relaxing and fun!!

Great tubing experience but ignore the advice to arrive early. We did and were told to just sit and wait 15 min then we left 10 minutes late. But a great float that we will do again!!

The weather started out questionable (we had booked the day before and it was 100F and now it was 70F and cloudy). Hannah, was extremely kind about it seeing that we had little kids. She gave us the option to walk down to the water and give it a test before committing us for the tube tour. We decided to go ahead with the tour and we had a great time!! 7yr old and 8yr old loves the trip! We even did the ladder 3 times 😂 it was awesome and I would do it again! Yes, the water was cold but you get used to it quickly, and you aren’t in it that deep because the tube hold you out (until you get to the rapids). Thank you Hannah!!!

This was the ideal river for floating. Perfect speed. Great weather. And surprisingly fun rapids. Perfect for kids or for adults who want to relax with a drink in hand.The shuttle service was convenient and easy to use as well.

Ride over was great. Ride back was at least a half hour wait, not every 15 minutes like advertised, forcing a long line to develop. The river float itself is worth it, very relaxing and fun going thru the rapids, which is no big deal, unless you dont want to get wet.

We had a great float down the river. Only thing that was frustrating was they make it clear online and at check-in that masks are required when on the shuttles, but then they don’t actually enforce that when people are getting on the shuttles. Staff wears masks on shuttles. Don’t say and then not enforce. Some of us book with understanding that masks will be required and expect for them to be enforced when in contained spaces with strangers.

We had a great time on our SUPs. The boards and paddles were high quality and easy to use, and the river was a great place for some beginner/intermediate folks like us. My only complaint is that my life jacket was objectively not useful. There were adult sizes and children’s sizes, and the adult size was clearly standardized for an adult male, and would be pretty much useless to me had I needed it (even as tight as possible, it failed the pull-up-at-the-shoulders test). While I of course have the option to bring my own, it was included with the rental, thus I was hoping to be able to find one appropriate for my average height & frame female self.

My friend and I rented tubes over the 4th of July weekend and Tumalo Creek picked us up and dropped us off at a location that was very convenient to us. The online booking and check-in was very organized and went smoothly. We loved the relaxing float down the river!

Great place to rent! They’re always waiting for us with the craft ready to go! It would be nice if the paddle boards had cargo lines tied onto them to stick shoes and water bottles in. Also- the beach is super crowded- but that’s not TCKC’s fault. Otherwise it’s all fantastic.

Very well run operation. The floats were fully inflated, the wait was minimal, the waiting area included mist to keep us cool and the pick up and drop off were well coorinated. Well be doing this again.

This was so much fun for my grandchildren and their parents. Every one that work at Tumalo Creek were super nice and explained everything in detail.We will probably make the trip to Bend to do this again for sure.

This place has the best customer service! Whenever we visit or call they are very knowledgeable. It seems like most places nowadays when you ask a question the people who work there can’t help you or direct you to someone who can. But they know what’s up at tumalo kayak! Even when we have questions about products that aren’t from their store they still help! Great group of people who run this shop!

Excellent. Easy check ins and payment processing. Very friendly personnel. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because they cancelled the old trip where you drift for 4 hours down the river. Also, the Sunriver station is no longer active. Now you have to drive to Bend.

Very friendly caring staff. They have safety in mind. Been a while since we had been in a canoe. Their short refresher course was nice and thorough. We had our dog with us for the first time. They made sure we were all ok and got our bearings before they left. Our dog had an amazing first canoe experience. We were all still dry by the end of it.

This was so much fun!!! The river was great and it was such a nice day. The staff made it super easy to get on the water when we’ve never kayaked before. Tons of parking right on the water and no need to drive with the kayaks anywhere. 10/10 would do again!!

What a great day on the water! The only thing I would improve is knowing in advance (or when you make your reservation) that roughly half the kayak trip is UPstream, so there is a fair amount of paddling. This can be a challenge if youre not used to it.

I got swept into the current quickly trying to avoid a large boat coming in. It would have been good to be warned to stay really close to shore at that point.

Visit went exactly as they said it would, we showed up at the location and were then driven to the drop off point and picked up when we were done. The only complaint I have is that when purchasing the shuttle ticket it seemed as if we had to be there for that exact time, which confused me since I thought we were allowed multiple trips, but upon actually going through the motions that didnt appear to be the case at all.

When we got there they offered us a rain-check to come a different day since the wind was driving a stronger current than usual but we decided to give it a shot.We started to regret it when after 5 minutes we hadnt made any progress upriver but then caught our stride and made it all the way up to the rapids from riverbend in less than an hour.
