I’ve never posted a review on anything before but I absolutely feel compelled because Ackerman Security legitimately has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I was a customer for about five years and was never thrilled with the service, but staying with them just seemed easier than leaving. After renovating my house, I called their office 6 times over a two week period to update my services. Each time I was told I’d receive a call back from the supervisor by the end of the day, I never did. I sat on hold for hours over the course of those two weeks. Then, when I attempted to cancel my service, they falsely claimed that I hadn’t paid my bill in two months (a complete lie), and they wouldn’t be reimbursing me for the two+ weeks that I had been without security. I then called back and was left on hold for 2 hours before finally hanging up! I have since installed SimpliSafe and have the same level of protection, for a fraction of the cost of installation and monthly charge. AVOID ACKERMAN!

Abysmal customer service. You want to talk to them on the phone? Be prepared to wait over an hour as some guy with a southern twang repeats prompts over and over till you absolutely cannot bear to stand another word of his voice. Like all customer accessible companies, AS closes at 5. I called at 4:30 and stayed on for a whole hour because that voice kept repeating that they’re working as “fast as possible” to get to me. And then urging you to send customers their way. The gall. Granted, not all phone calls take an hour to get no one, but the result of any call hardly varies: disappointment. Need them to come to your home (because of a SECURITY issue)? Cool. Expect to wait 8 business days. Expect them to do a service that they’ve already charged for? Hilarious. Instead of the service, you’ll get a “we missed ya” notice with a number to call that no one answers.They might look good, their equipment might seem like a step up but their customer service is abysmal. (And I chose “seem” because their sensors often stop working.) Might be a reason to get someone out here! Oh, wait…

Incredibly pathetic and beyond irritating. I cancelled my contract months ago, as the house was sold. I was told I would get a form to sign to confirm the end of the contract. Never received it, despite them claiming they sent it several times. What do I get? Emails from them demanding more and more money. Do Not use them!!!

I truly regret signing a contract with this company. We were pitched a two-year contract by the sales person and while Im at fault for not reading correctly, they gave me a 5-year contract. The mobile app stopped working after six months. Their website is terrible. Save your money and go with a more modern company. When I called to complain, I was told there was nothing they could do but that a supervisor would be in touch with me in 24-48 hours. Apparently theyre fine with their sales people LYING to customers.Well, its Monday and that was Thursday. By my estimation, thats at least 96 hours. Seriously, take your money ANYWHERE else. Im not sure *how* they have a 4.5 star rating on here. Look at Yelp - its at 2.5 and the majority of the bad reviews are from the past year or so.

This really should be 0 stars! We have been Ackerman customers for 11 years and up until this month had no complaints. We needed to upgrade our system to wireless, made an appointment. Sales manager had to come in place of salesman at a later time due to salesman being in an accident. We were happy with proposal to upgrade, signed, paid and an install was scheduled for 5/7. After waiting the time window, had to call and see if installer was still coming and was told he was on his way but did not have all the equipment. Called back to say needed to reschedule when all equipment was in. Next date was 5/19. Received call that morning that installer was ill and needed to reschedule. Told me someone could come 5/21 between 2-5. At 4:30 I called to see if someone was still coming and after being on hold for quite sometime was told that appointment was made in error and that installer did not work in my area! Rescheduled again for 5/24. Installer arrived and spent 4 hours only to then tell us could not set everything up due to our old equipment but that we still had a working alarm and someone from sales would call us. Set the alarm that evening but was getting a notice we had not seen before but alarm was set. Middle of night alarm goes off 2x and my husband had to call and tell them to turn everything off. At 5:30 AM my husband is awakened again with call telling us we were no longer monitored. Morning of 5/25 my husband left message for sales manager, then called service department to have someone come out and restore to old system, was told a manager would call. As of today, 5/26 have had no calls from ANYONE and we are without a working security system. I called to cancel all of our service and was told had to be transferred to Loyalty Department, was on hold for sometime, then first rep tells me they are busy there and someone would call. I then told him I did not want any calls at this point and just cancel. Was told I would get email, guess will see if that ever happens. Total incompetence on all ends with this company!

I am very disappointed with this service. I purchased a home in January that already had the system set up. A salesperson came and convinced us to upgrade the system (which cost several thousands of dollars) I agreed. Unfortunately NONE OF THE UPGRADE has worked since March. After many calls and many broken promises we are still without a of the features. The technician were supposed to call...nothing, the salesperson was supposed to call...nothing. customer service is kind but not helpful. Noone can help...so I wait...4 mths later and I wait. My home is no more secure today than the day before the purchase and that is a huge disappointment for the amount of $$ we put into this reliable service.

Update: Calling Ackerman does not get you anywhere. But writing a truthful review of my experience does get you better customer service from their liaison. After making my below review, Ackerman contacted me immediately to fix the issues their customer service was lacking in ability to fix. Hence, more stars in my review. Thank you, Tiffany!!!!Every time I call Ackerman, they ask for money. EVERY TIME. It just seems they take their pointers on Customer Service from COMCAST. This company acts sleazy. I dread calling them when I need help with their product.

WARNING ALL NEW CUSTOMERS!! Don’t sign-up with this company!I have a long history with Ackerman Security roughly about seven years, I’ve been loyal to a fault. Over the last two years, I have had so many complaints against this company from false alarms because of faulty equipment, to paying for technical support to come out to my home and never getting my service issues revolved. Once the fix one thing and add another piece of expensive equipment something else will go wrong. I’ve called them so many times to get situations resolved with promises to get a callback and never hearing from anyone. I’m still waiting for the loyalty department to call me back regarding my notice sent in January 2021 that I wanted to end my services but still being charged a monthly fee, plus I was told that I would have to pay for a service that they set-up for a technician to come out and I never requested it. I let the technician come in because the previous day at 1:30 AM I was awakened by my county police at my door because of a faulty alarm piece that triggered off and nobody even opened this door because everyone was sleep. This was about the 4th time police came to my house regarding this same door and this piece has caused my alarm to go off dozens of times. If it’s not the battery dying and having to replace that for $40 it’s another problem. Now they are trying to over charge me by still billing me for services I don’t use and told me the only way they would let me out of my account I would have to pay for 3 months of services plus for the last piece of equipment that they installed in January 2020. I asked them to take the equipment out and they refused to contact me back or let me out of my non-existing contract. I had to go purchase security cameras for my home because I need security and I can’t trust this company to provide it. I trust my neighbors to watch my home better then this company. Please, please find another company before choosing Ackerman because this company is only about being paid with no providing no service.Update: I sent an email to Ms. James like she requested on April 7th ask me if she returned the email and today is April 13th 2021 at 11:46 PM. Trust me when I say this company never wants to resolve issues but will contact you for billing and to sale you a updated services. Consumers Beware. They dont want to provide me with service or let me out of an imaginary contract that I asked to in since January. I got a bill for this month too. I dont even activate the alarm because it keeps getting error messages and false alarms.Horrible Company!

After 7 years with this company, I switched to a different company that provide a better service. I have been calling for the last 6 months to terminate the contract with no result. Every time that I call, I listen to their music for an hour then the computer will ask you to leave the call back number. The cancellation process can take more than a year. Dont get anywhere close to this company unless you are willing to sign a lifetime agreement.

I had problems with my door sensor and they couldnt just remove a sensor from the program. Keep forcing me to upgrade the system or send someone home for inspection and charge for it. I finally, after 4 months, got tired of it and moved to Simplisafe. It was night and day difference. I called them back to disconnect the service and they helped me on the phone remove all connections, wireless module etc.Of course, but they kept billing my credit card. After a month of several phone calls, was able to finally talk to someone. They asked me to print a form, sign, go to post office (in this pandemic) buy a stamp, then send it by mail to their head office. I didnt know we were in 1989. They have the worst customer service and always trying to upsell. Pls stay away from them ever!!! With these kind of business tactics, they wont stay in business for long.

I wish I could have rated them a zero. I have been a loyal Akerman customer for several years (6 or 7) from ADT. My system was malfunctioning, and my wife wanted a doorbell camera. Called Akerman and set up two appointments, one with the sales guy (Jeff) and one with the repair guy. Met with Sales guy Jeff on January 20th (Wed) talked about my needs explaining that the doorbell camera is my top priority and he explained how they could do the installation. Jeff said they could use my current physical door and motion sensors and since we were going with a new system he would cancel the repair appointment. So I wanted my existing door and motion sensors integrated with the new system, cameras (doorbell, exterior) and garage sensors.Jeff wrote it up and was giving me a great deal, even forgoing his commission ($400) and giving me additional discounts because cause he was the General Manager, unfortunately its difficult to understand what is being discounted and why as their CRM system didnt allow line item discounting. I should have known something was wrong as the discounts came fast and furious without out any pressure.Ive been with them for a while, just trying to get my system fixed and upgraded with cameras (doorbell (make Mama happy), + 2 exterior cameras). Met with Jeff on the 20th (wed), installation was scheduled for Friday the 15th. Technician arrived and thats when the stuff hit the rotating blades. Once the Tech understood the job he realized that he didnt have all the parts he needed and would have to reschedule (1st red flag). Tech rescheduled for Monday the 18th, Friday to Monday - Im still good, but wondering why he didnt have what he needed.Tech gets back on Monday, then finds out that hes supposed to tie into existing system (2nd red flag), apparently thats a different setup all together. Tech got on the phone and worked it out to install new wireless sensors. No charge to me - still all good.Installed the panel (or two) as one of the panels wouldnt work and he needed to go to the truck and get another (Another Red Flag). finally got a panel to work (naturally concerned as the one thing you want from your security system is reliability). installed the door and motion sensors everything good. Btw, had an extra component that wasnt needed for my installation. Tech said he would remove from bill of materials.Started talking about the Garage door, we had specified the garage control modules ($$$). By this time, Im doing what I should have done prior to the decision - doing research. Realize, I just want to know if I left the garage door open. We just need the Garage Tilt monitors not the Garage interface modules (dont need to be able to control the garage doors). Asked the tech to make that change.Then we get to the doorbell camera and the tech contradicts Jeff and basically says to do what I want, they need to install a Ring manufactured Camera. So now I need two phone apps. This aint going to work. for my crew, I need simple. So I pause the installation. I want to confirm the doorbell situation (this was my primary reason for the upgrade) and get an updated quote due to all the changes.Tech on 20th said he would communicate with Jeff and we would get things straight. I reached out to Jeff on the 21st to say I had paused the installation and was looking for an updated quote/contract. Nothing back! Hearing nothing - whats my plan B? Texted him on the 25th to cancel. The other thing I would expect from my security company is responsiveness. I send him msgs, nothing back. Jeff finally gets back to me. I reiterated, cancel my installation, cancel my service and pick up the equipment.Oh btw the repair appointment which was supposed to be cancelled, called me to confirm his appt.Finally, Its ~2 weeks later and I still have the equipment, been put on endless holds when calling corporate. Everything is packed, where do I send your stuffDecided to go w/another company, system installed, working great, one app, Mama happy. Ackerman = 0 Stars

Today is March 8th 2021, I had an appointment today between the hours of 8:00 and 12:00 with ackerman security. Unfortunately when I called at 10 of 2:00 the service person on the phone put me on hold to find out what the reason was why they were running late or did not show up was they had to do extra work at the previous job. That customer service agent told me that they were unable to call me for some odd reason which I believe is a lie. That being said this is the second time I had a problem with Ackerman security showing up at my house the first time was a no call no show.

Sold my home and needed to stop/close Ackerman monitoring. I spent a week trying to actually talk to a human being. When I finally did, it was after 5:00 pm and then had to wait until the next day to speak to Loyalty department employee beg me to stay. Ultimately, I had to be sent a form that I had to fill out and mail back via USPS. Clearly Ackerman is doing everything they can to make it as difficult as possible to stop/close monitoring. By the way, my initial 3-year contract ended in 2018. Will never use them again and will spread encourage everyone I know not to use them either.

I have been trying to get in contact with Ackerman Security for over 3 months. I sent the document to cancelled my services and they are still billing me. I call just about everyday and send text messages (their preferred communication) and I have not heard back from them. This is the worst business experience Ive had. I just want to cancel my service.

The sales process was very easy and the system was installed the very next day! The technician that installed the system was great and he explained everything. As this is a rental unit, we wanted the peace of mind that the property would be monitored...and you did not disappoint. There was an incident where one of the tenants alerted the system and assistance was dispatched. We were out of town when this occurred we were called by the monitoring center and they relayed the message pertaining to the emergency and the cameras allowed us to view everything real time. Would highly recommend the experts. Ackerman!

I sold my home, cancelled the Ackerman service, paid my bill in full and sent in the required paperwork. This month (post account closure and full payment) Ackerman continued to auto debit my account to pay for service that I cancelled and paid for. This is an example of lack of attention to detail and incompetence in executing a simple task. How can they be trusted to help keep you safe when they can’t be relied on to properly close and document a closed account. This review should be a caution to anyone considering dealing with this company, they are not equipped to be responsible for your families safety. I would not recommend using their products and I definitely do not recommend them if you want anything close to competent customer service.

While the company provided security monitoring regularly when I did have an alarm (due to a realtor arriving ahead of schedule) the attendant seemed reluctant to send police.Also when I tried closing my service the process is difficult and time consuming. When they finally got back to me I had to complete a paper form and mail it back before they would cancel the account.I do not recommend this company.

WORST SECURITY SYSTEM COMPANY EVER!!! I have been trying to call for weeks to get my services disconnected in my old house, and reconnected in my new house. Settled in my new home, and let me just say I been days without a security system hook up. However, I did get an email that Ackerman will be deducting their monthly payment from my account. Additionally, I was tricked into a 5 year contract. I recommend to go with another company, who cares about their customers. Total disappointment!!!

This is the worst alarm company that I have ever had, not worth their monthly price I promise you! Do not sign up with this company, my alarm hs never worked and they have you waiting for hours without a technician ever showing. Also their discontinuing of service policy is atrocious. They want to mail you a questionnaire and have you return it via mail in order to discontinue service. Listen, it’s not worth it, I promise you they are the worst ever!

The installation was quickly arranged to suit our travel plans. The installer guided us patiently into learning our new security system. The total initial installation charges were withdrawn from my bank account in one lump sum. We only discussed this charge being broken down into monthly payments never being withdrawn in one lump sum. Be sure to review the paperwork in great detail before signing and agreeing to the paperwork with customer service on the line. The customer service department doesnt review the contract in detail over the phone. Total deceptive setup.

I am a current extremely dissatisfied customer of almost 2 years. I do not recommend Ackerman Security Systems for your home security alarm system. From the onset my system has not worked properly. I constantly get 103 Communications errors whereby an alarm will sound off even when the system is not alarmed. The Ackerman technicians have been to my residence four separate times to replace 2 radio receivers and the keypad to no avail. This alarm will sound off at various times often awaking the household in the early morning hours. This alarm cannot be turned off. The Ackerman Security technicians are not able to figure out a solution. My previous alarm system with another company worked fine. I made the mistake going with the cheaper company. If you value your sleep do not go with Ackerman Security Systems. I wish I had chosen another alarm system company, Dont make my mistake.

Do not sign up with Ackerman if there might be a slim chance you will move in 5 years. They have very nice and slick sales people, but they rushed me into signing and failed to ever mention it was a 5 year contract. I needed to relocate for work reasons about a year later, and they stated that since I was in a 5 year contract (1st time hearing this) I owed them over $1k to cancel. They then kept shuffling me to different managers who said theyd get back to me, yet no one ever did and they continued to charge me. Will never deal with them again.

Very reliable and efficient security company. The salesman was knowledgeable and didnt pressure me to ale my decision. Walks you through what really makes security important to you and your family. Then again the technician who came down was also polite and great. Walks you every step of the way to make your experience worth while.I would give them an A+. Customer service is also great. I am writing this completely defeated by the lack of compassion Ackerman Security has for its customers. My mother in law passed away January 2020. We called to cancel her security services and were told we needed to pay out her remaining 5 year contract that expires in 2024. Not one mention of condolences just pay up. Even in your death you must pay for a service that is no longer being used. With all the other services that needed to be canceled due to the loss of our family member we have never encountered such callous and compassion less service. This speaks volumes for the type of business this is. You do not want to do business with the. Please stay away.

This is a warning not to use Ackerman Security. I have had Ackerman for years and like everyone with negative feedback, if you ever have to cancel for any reason after the contract date, you basically need a lawyer. Their model is to auto-renew your contract annually and you have to pay for that year even if you move or if your panel no longer functions. My panel stopped working and they didnt even call to find out why it stopped communicating. Bad Service, bad service model, and basically not worth even trying out. There are lots of good companies out there with better technology and support.

Great monitoring, but I hope you never sell your home or terminate your service. I had three properties with Ackerman for almost a decade and sold one. My preference was to keep my business with Ackerman for the remaining two homes. You cant cancel over the phone or electronically. They want you to cancel via certified mail and they want you to give them 60 days notice. They dont care if youve moved out of state or own multiple homes with their service and have had it for years. They dont have the technology to take a cancellation any other way. They will keep debiting your account after you tell them to stop. Stay away folks, stay away.

We had an appointment with an Ackerman Security Representative today (Jan 27, 2020) at 6pm. My husband looked out of the window so he could catch the rep and direct him to the visitors parking. He open the curtain to find the man URINATING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE, IN MY BUSH facing whole neighborhood! WTH...this is the most disgusting, disrespectful, and appalling thing weve ever experienced. My 12 year old daughter was home...what if she opened the curtains!I contacted Ackerman and they simply apologized and said to call them back if we ever change our mind about using their service...REALLY? Thankfully my husband recorded the interaction!

We had an excellent experience with our sales rep, Kevin. He was on time, professional and even provide treats for my fur-kids. He went over all our options and helped us settle on the best service for us. The next step was to set up the install. Our service tech was Brian. He was great, even though our old house presented a few challenges. Thanks Ackerman, if your security matches up to who you have representing you, we feel confident in our choice.

Never had problems but I will say that while my installer told me the basics, he didnt go over some of the intricacies of the system settings, leading me to think I had malfunctioning hardware when I really didnt. Had a technician come out for no good reason just to walk me through a couple buttons to push. Step up user education, but other than that Ive only had a positive experience.

After being a customer for Ackerman for 4 years, my wife and I decided to end our contract and find a more affordable security company. Luckily, this was not a difficult decision since every time we consulted with Ackerman Security, they charged us a service fee. We were amazed that we were charged fees for consultation in addition to the $40 monthly bill for monitoring. Every time we had a conversation with Ackerman customer service, it always turned into a long conversation and an unpleasant one. For example, the security system was installed at a wine bar, a business location, and it had a panic button. The panic button that Ackerman installed could only be used once; however, no one from Ackerman told us. Eighteen months after it was installed, we decided to test our entire alarm system because our neighborhood had an electrical outage for 24 hours. When we tested the panic button, the police came. It was great, except for the fact that we had to get a customer service rep to the bar and reinstall it. How much did that cost? About $180! Just absolutely ridiculous. Thats an incredibly expensive cost for a small business thats just trying to take its due diligence and we werent completely informed.When I requested to cancel their services on March 2020, I was told point black, are you sure you want to cancel? because if you do, youll miss out on your great benefit of getting 200% CASH if youre burglarized [this is a straight copy and paste from their email]. I still went on and canceled our account; my termination date was set for April 17th, at the end of my billing cycle. My transition plan was to use Ackerman Securities until the end of my billing cycle so I can install the replacement and have continuous security service. This is advice I recommend for everyone making a security monitoring transition.On April 14th, our business was burglarized, and Ackerman was still our security company. The motion detector and door entrance sensors did not alert the police of the crime; and though thats a huge issue in itself, its not our main point. Hours after we were burglarized, we called Ackermans customer service representatives and managers because we wanted my benefit. I have an email confirming and explaining how I would get paid in cash for the $2,000 of merchandise that was stolen from us. But Ackerman fought us against their own stated benefit. I was told that this was my benefit as a customer, and I was still their customer.We spent three days speaking with multiple tiers of the Ackerman management and they were confrontational and dismissive. They basically told us that we werent valued as a customer since we were not using their services past the current billing cycle - never mind that we used their services for four years. Just to be clear, we had this conversation when I was still their client.Obviously, they did not provide me the 200% reimbursement. The Ackerman Securities company culture is toxic, all of their representatives are untrustworthy and deceptive. The entire time we worked with them, they were never provided took my interests and concern into account. I dont know how they keep customers when they are so confrontational about everything. And by the way, isnt the purpose of a business to serve customers?This is the worst security company on the books. As you can see, we had so many problems. If you use them as your security company, you should consider using a modern security solution like Ring, Nest or Simply Safe. If youre considering them as a security company, you shouldnt even waste your time.

She addressed all questions truthfully after talking to technical staff as needed. She was the reason for us to switch to Ackerman from the current provider. The installed keyless door locking hardware malfunctioned. This occurred as the app simultaneously refused to update leaving me stranded outside of my house at night! This matter has not been resolved and the hardware and app continue to work intermittently. Im not pleased with this service!

Very satisfied! I switched to Ackerman Security Systems from another alarm company in Atlanta. Ackerman made it easy to switch and more affordable, too. Peter Ian, our rep, was knowledgeable and friendly and helped to thoroughly evaluate and meet all our needs. He was quick to respond to a question we had after the installation. The people in the monitoring center are also quick to respond when I accidentally trigger a false alarm!

I finally was able to get a restful night of sleep without having to get up and hit the status button to stop the system from sending a signal to the company. As of 6/20/17 I have low battery detected at front door & have changed the battery so now Im back at square one again. I Cant keep going through this.

Please be advised I would like to recognize Dean Pack Operations Manager of the Metropolitan Area for Ackerman Security. There were some previous issues that were escalated in my home. I was contacted by Dean Pack and he assisted me with a resolution. We are yet still working through this process. I was a customer with Ackerman for 6 years with basic monitoring service. I initiated the cancellation in January and cancelled the service effective from 2/20/2019. It is very surprising that they only accept the signed request sent through snail mail, not even a scanned/signed copy. Finally service was cancelled but at the end of the month, an auto payment was deducted for the next quarter ( till May 2019) from my credit card. When reached customer service, it was mentioned that a favor is being made to me, by accepting cancellation, charging only till May19 & not recovering amount till 10/2019, even though during last October it was informed that I was out of contract after initial 3 years with no strings for cancellation. It is frustrating with no transparency in the terms and the callousness towards the customer makes me feel really bad effecting my rating.

Good monitoring, terrible contracts. I sold my house and they will not let me out of the contract. I called and TRIED to cancel and they talked me into keeping the account in hold status. The next month I received a late charge and another month service. Other companies do not auto renew for 3 years at a time do not even think of going with these leeches!

Scared of Contracts ? Ackerman website claims you shouldnt be. Unfortunately, found the hard way that you indeed should be scared of Ackermans contract. Although I am a customer for 4+ years, they would not cancel the contract because I am moving and things not under my control.Honestly in this day and age, the company should focus on better service than contracts to lock in customers.

Technician/installer called ahead of the schedule time to inform me of his exact arrival time. The installer explained in detail what functions would be performed and instructed me on the use of the equipment and allowed me to have hands-on time at each phase of the installation and testing. Very happy with the installation and looking forward to the service.

They will rob you blind and are extremely unreliable. Twice my alarm went off and I had to call them so see why they didnt contact me. Their answer was that the system was not connecting. $18.95/MONTH is not true, more like 35 + the cost for equipment for a system that constantly does not work. It wouldnt be that bad of they would come out and fix it when it beaks but the way they do it, you pay for all of the equipment up front (very expensive). Now the equipment is yours and they charge you each time you have an issue since they dont own the hardware. If you do decide to go with these crooks READ THE FINE PRINT and ask a lot of questions. Go over your bill with a fine tooth comb. Do not go with the wireless unless you want the crap scared out of you in the middle of the night when the ALARM foes off because it lost connection.They will come out and tell you you have to upgrade to stop the issue which will cost you another $300. All together over the almost 3 years of the initial contract (Thank God) we will payed Ackerman almost $3000 (taken from statements and remaining time). You do the mathDid I mention they lock you into a 3 year contract...counting the days to throw them to the curb....Good Luck

READ THE FINE PRINT ON THE CONTRACT.You have a 3 DAY CANCELLATION period that starts when you sign the contract, NOT at installation date. Also, DO NOT DECLINE the 4 day orientation period on the contract! Watch for the check box on the automated screen. My 3 day cancellation period expired the day the system was installed - beware. There is a reason installation will take 3 days after contract signing. I am still waiting for Ackerman to fix the poor keypad functions for the $19.99 Deal.

Horrible, I wish I had seen the other reviews. Signed up last Saturday 9/26 and they did a same day install. Alarm went off 30 minutes after the tech left. The system called my sister instead of me and then it still took over 30 minutes for them to call the system box and even longer for the police to show and they didnt come in or do a search. Some came in my residence every day last week, the alarm didnt sound nor did i get a call or notification. The manual cameras I setup for backup confirmed someone entered my residence for hours every day.I called them on 9/28 to cancel after I saw someone had entered my residence with no alarm awareness. They still charged my account after canceling and I have been waiting on someone to come and get the equipment. I have informed my bank, so they can monitor my account since they make you sign up for automatic debit.

Nobody Home??My service fee was taken out of the bank twice this month. Ive tried calling Ackerman and was on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. I tried the service connection; same thing. I tried the number to call if the alarm went off, and STILL no answer. ?????The service has been good otherwise, but now Im disgusted.

Ive used Ackerman for about 5 years and the service was initially very good though their contact center response times slowed over the years. The big issue can when I moved and they informed me of their 60 day cancellation policy, meaning that I would have to pay for two months for absolutely nothing. Although I will need a new monitoring system in about 30 days, they would not waive this outrageous fee. In addition, the cancellation form had to be sent via snail mail and they would not accept a pdf EVEN THOUGH IT WENT TO THE SAME LOCATION. **UPDATE** After seeing this post, I was called back and they waived the cancellation fee. But they still made me mail in the form.

Mr Bob White from Ackerman, was on time and very courteous. He took his time to analyze all our security needs. He did not push things on us that we felt were not necesdary. Otherwise, he would have been dismissed. He later explained the features about the system we both agreed upon. He answered all of our questions and concerns. The combination of his professionalism and good sense of humor took the anxiety of the choice with Ackerman and the system we finally chosen. No hard sale just good customer service.

I recently learned from a call that I received from Ackerman that the batteries in my alarm needed changing. I changed the batteries in the window sensors; however, they were not the correct type, because the alarm was still showing that the batteries needed changing. I made an appointment, and a technician came and changed all of the batteries.Great service!

I have a system with another larger company. I needed another system and got a quote. Then I called Ackerman. The same level of system with a coupon that came in the mail was free. The agent from the company was fantastic. Explaining every detail, prices and within minutes I signed up! Free system, no installation fee, and a rate that even renting the equipment was still less than the other guys and that was with the other company giving me a triple discount for having another home with their system. Better response time, better equipment and they offer superior deals. I am glad I checked them out!
