Really nice store with so much good food and stuff to choose from. Excellent bulk food section. Extensive coffee choices. Helpful staff happy to help. Beautiful produce. Nice guy out front banging on a drum and being lovely and friendly. Clean, well maintained, neat plants to choose from. Looking forward to coming back in to get some more of the things that they have. Recommended.

It really bums me out that the coop sells sacred white sage. For somewhere that claims to have the community at heart, i don’t think they have their Native community members at heart when profiting off of a sacred medicinal plant.

The downtown co-op location has been a consistently nice place to shop over the last two decades. The produce, meat and deli departments are full of fresh choices. Everyone is helpful and friendly, which I always appreciate. Watch for the sale items and stock up to stretch your food budget. Youll find some great deals!

Dropped by to do some shopping and decided to check out the food court. When asking the employee about the pre-made items and allergies, the employee was extremely short and rude with me.She pointed me to the salad bar and said I should be able to make my own using their ingredients. Unfortunately that was not a true statement as a lot of the ingredients were not available at the salad bar. After a second attempt to ask where I can get the remaining ingredients another employee was able to step in and give some guidance.

This is my favourite grocery store!!!!!!!!! Great use of inferior space. They have a very good selection of health and wellness products. Love their initiatives with recycling and reducing waste. The company is attentive to details of how the place is run. You can see that they are passionate about what they do and what they believe in. Love the seating area upstairs too. Everything is designed with the consumers in mind. I wish we have a place like this in BC, Canada!

This is my go to place for my specialty foods (and all produce). They have even more options for my strict paleo diet than Whole Foods does and it is always better to support local farmers and producers rather than giant corporations. This location also has more items and is larger than the one on Cordata so I try to go here when I can, but it is busy. I love their curbside option for this reason.

.I was in the store tonight around 7:30 with my dog. I was approached by a man named Jared. He asked me if my dog was a service animal . And I told him yes than he continues with asking me what kind of training does he have and what commands does he know and basically what service does he provide me. It is illegal for him to ask me what services he is supporting me for. Then when I tried to tell him. He then cut me off and told me to tie him outside while I shop. I have never been treated like this in this store or humiliated in front of other shoppers like I was this evening by Jared. I want to know how your going to rectify this situation so I dont get harassed everytime I come in . I frequent this store cause I live in the area.

Ive shopped at the co-op for over 20 years and have always loved this placebas a non member. The downsides are the prices are ridiculously high, the employees are not always the most helpful or friendly, and I have felt discriminated against. The store itself is a great place and I have maintained it as an establishment I frequent, and will continue to. Their food is also pretty good.

Two days ago I realized I was out of my favorite yogurt and wanted it for breakfast. I made a quick trip to the downtown co-op and got there 10 minutes before closing. Brenda checked me out, and I paid in cash. When she handed me my change, I dropped my open wallet, and coins from both the change she had handed me and my wallet scattered across the floor. Brenda came out from behind the cashier stand, got down on the floor, and picked up the scattered coins, all with a smile. Service above and beyond the call of duty!

Employees are very sweet but have little to no covid consciousness.I was in the store for maybe 10 minutes and in that time, I had multiple empoyees come right up next to me to get to something else. They said excuse me as they brushed past but at this point, that is not ok.It is worth the extra effort to ask me to move before getting close to me as not to endanger the community.I am grateful that yall are willing to work through this pandemic but we just cant be running things that way. I will likely not come back to the co-op until the pandemic is over :(Good luck yall. I hope you stay safe out there.

I am so grateful for the quality of respect and service Co-op employees have exhibited during this time of COVID-19. The at risk shopping hour in the morning not only allows me to worry less but is relaxed and comfortable. The staff is kind, friendly and helpful. The precautions taken at Co-op were some of the very first in town. Disposable gloves and fabric masks for employees. The clear shield between cashiers and shoppers, the spot to stand while waiting in line, sanitizing shopping carts between shoppers, one way entry without shopping carts to collect bulk items, careful handling of produce and the usual high quality of products have been fantastic. I am deeply grateful.Thank you,Danna Zelenka

The Co-op is a beautiful store, very modern and appealing. The supplies are abundant, quality is very good, definitely one stop shopping for some. I use the Co-op sparingly, why you ask? There are 2 specific reasons: the first is the attitude. If one doesnt present themselves as a Co-op type (and yes I mean dressed in Co-op fashion) you can be mistreated or completely ignored. The second reason is price. To join the Co-op is a substantial fee, which entitles you to a percentage discount off future purchases. Great doesnt off set the original price or the membership fee. Forgive me here but I always thought a Co-op was a structure by which a group of individuals bought goods in bulk to increase buying power and decrease prices?

Pretty much the best grocery store you could ever ask for. So glad they extended the parking lot, although its still super crowded, which is good because I want the co op to do well. Their bakery is soooo good and they make a great cup of coffee. I love being able to get a coffee while I shop. The bulk section is excellent. Keep your eye out for amazing local delicacies, especially in the produce section. Last year I found local Kiwis that were the best Id ever had. I love their Maui pineapples too and the passion fruit. The veggies are as local as possible from farmers in the area. I do wish theyd bring back the rose apples, those were unreal and I havent seen them there in years. One of the only places you can buy fresh burdock root and turmeric.

So this food Coop is inspirational to me. You can join for a one time fee and never pay that again, yet get dividends every year. They feature organic, sustainable and local food sources and products. They have a hot and cold deli and serve smoothies and breakfasts too. I enjoy their homemade bakery items also. The produce is lovely. Prices are not cheap, so dont go expecting main supermarket chain bargains. That said, they do have some significant discounts for larger orders.

I went there in 2013 to have lunch and breakfast. The recipes were good or great, cooking was just fine and the prices were decent and sometimes quite low, much lower than in other food co-ops in the American West. Decent prices for organic foodstuffs are extremely important from both social and environmental perspectives. To me, it means that the workers at this food co-op--as well as the organic farmers and food producers they work with--understand what a socially balanced community truly means. And this understanding is essential to feel good together in any community.

So very disappointed in what the Bellingham and Skagit food co-ops have become: instead of “food for people, not for profit” - these food co-ops are really no longer co-ops, but competitive, free-market corporations. Instead of supporting local small businesses and local/community based businesses, they compete and put good operations out of business. Why does the co-op need to have and be their own bakery - especially bakeries so focused on unhealthy heavily processed junk foods? Why compete with other businesses while providing nothing superior for the community? Why all the heavily processed breads and other foods? Groceries? Where’s the mill for freshly ground flour? These co-ops have become competitive grocery stores instead of community collaborators and educators. Plus, they age and religion discriminate when hiring - at minimum wage. Sad. True. Disappointing.
