We all enjoyed our food although we were very disappointed not to get breakfast after 11 a.m We love breakfast! The chocolate cupcake with cream cheese frosting was absolutely delicious! I wish I would have picked up another to go! The vanilla cupcake was a little dense and heavy as was the lemon lavender, but the frosting was delicious.

As a vegetarian of many years its really exciting to be able to go to a cafe and order anything off the menu. Everything Ive tried has been delicious, I especially love the blt which has coconut bacon (my favorite plant based bacon). Produce is always extremely fresh tasting! Great coffee and pastries as well. A hidden gem:)

Too much baking soda in everything! The Fact that the English muffin, waffles and biscuit all had that yellow tinge was a dead giveaway. The caustic aftertaste was absolutely disgusting. You can literally smell the soda in your food. The waffles had a chewy texture. Actually, the waffles, English muffin and biscuit all had the exact same texture. I think its important to note that Ive been a vegan for 6 years now so this dont come across as a rant from someone who is uninformed. Pro tip: do not use it as your primary leavening agent. And if you intend to do that, at least balance it out with an acidic element. Its places like this that make non-vegans have a poor opinion of vegan food.P.S. : I dont often write reviews but know that when I do, its either terrible or heavenly.

Cute place. The Belgian waffle was super delicious, so nice and crisp yet fluffy on the inside. I was indecisive for what I wanted for breakfast, so their lil sampler of the tofu scramble, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy was perfect. The biscuits and gravy was super delicious. I devoured it. The “egg and cheese scramble” was only disappointing because they don’t taste like scrambled eggs. I’d rather it just be called a tofu scramble as opposed to trying to be what it really isn’t. I also got a latte, and an americano for my roomate at home, but they were terrible. We ended up getting coffee from somewhere else. All the treats they have looked divine and had a great presentation. Overall, food was pretty good, coffee was awful, and covid safety guidelines were followed.

I did not enter the restaurant because I had my pup with me, so I can only comment on the food, coffee, staff, and location. My family had never been to Bellingham, so we decided to stop at Wild Oat for lunch before going hiking nearby. I sat on the tables outside the entrance on the sidewalk, and the weather, location, and atmosphere of downtown were great. I ordered a hemp milk latte, and it came out perfect temperature and tasted great. My mom and I ordered the toasted bagel sandwich, my sister ordered the Classic BLT, and we all shared a slice of banana bread. We got the slice first, and ate it with coffee; dessert before lunch, and it was delicious! Our lunch took quite long before it was ready and brought out to us (probably 25-30 min). The staff that brought the food out to our table was super friendly, and the food was worth the wait. We all really enjoyed our sandwiches as well as the spiced soup that came with the sandwiches. Overall, the location, staff, coffee, and food were excellent and priced reasonably. I highly recommend a stop at Wild Oat!

Really tough to give one star, but I was really hopeful to find an all vegan eatery! From the time I ordered to the time I got my order -2 toasted bagels with vegan cream cheese- was 40 minutes. After I finally received my order, the bagels were unimpressive along with moist and cold as if they’d been sitting, and they give the spread on the side, so it was very hard to spread. After waiting for so long, and paying $15, I had at least assumed they would actually assemble my breakfast.Save your money.

I have been coming to this amazing cafe ever since they opened and am so happy to have found this place. Where to start with the recommendations? Some of my favorite menu items to get here are the breakfast sandwich, the philly cheezesteak sandwich, the beyond burger, the fish filet sandwich, and the bagel sandwich. My son loves the french dip. If you come in on a day they have the Italian Sausage Potato soup--get it! The chili is also very good. Ive honestly loved everything Ive tried here (I cant get enough of their potato salad--its so perfect and everything Id ever hoped a potato salad could be).Im absolutely obsessed with the scones and was skeptical of gluten free baked goods until Wild Oat changed my mind (they have plenty of items with or without gluten!) If you are looking for comfort food you will find it here. They also do custom orders, I got my sons birthday cupcakes here and everyone raved about them.As with most small businesses if for any reason you have an issue with the food or service, let the owner know. She is a passionate, talented individual who truly cares and will do what she can to make it right. This is a good business to support and Im so grateful to have this gem in town!

All on separate occasions: got a scone to go and the inside was completely raw; had to spit it out. ordered a latte and they gave me a plain black coffee. service was so terrible. super rude person working who rolled their eyes at us when we asked where the gluten free pastry options were. yelled at us when we asked for a lid for the coffee since it was to go, instead, wrapped the cup with saran wrap making it incredibly messy. lettuce in the burgers/sandwiches is always wilted. it’s great to finally have a vegan restaurant in bellingham, but it shouldn’t be this one.

I didnt even know there was a vegan cafe in Bellingham! I grew up here, but live in Seattle now. I come up every so often because my parents house is up here, and happened upon The Wild Oat when I was walking downtown looking for a place to eat. I eat dairy-free, so vegan places are always on my radar. This place was great! We went for Sunday brunch, and got the biscuits and gravy and Belgian waffles. The biscuits were fluffy and buttery, and the gravy was delicious. The roasted potatoes/peppers/onions underneath were great too. The Belgian waffles are HUGE and some of the best waffles Ive ever had, vegan or non-vegan. They were somehow fluffy, soft, AND dense at the same time. My dining partner was convinced the maple syrup was the real deal, and was super happy about that. I also got a latte with their house milk, a combo of soy and almond milk -- delicious! Not too expensive, either. Free WiFi too. Ill be back!

We visited this bakery/cafe as it is the closest place to our home in Canada that sold the Impossible Burger. Cozy little café and bakery serving a bunch of vegetarian options. Service was super friendly and prompt and prices were pretty much on par with what you would expect. The food was super good too, the bun that the burger came on was one of the better buns I have had on any burger and the impossible burger was really tasty (although a bit of a sodium bomb which has nothing to do with the Wild Oat Café but more to do with the manufacturer of the patti). I would not hesitate to return to this place next time we are in Bellingham and would recommend to friends.

Cute little place. All vegan. Can be difficult to find parking. I was really underwhelmed with the service I received. The girl that was in the dining area cleaning tables didnt acknowledge me until I spoke to her, and then I had to specifically ask her if she would take my order or if I should order at the counter after Id been waiting for a few minutes, ready to order. And I think the owner came in while I was eating, and never looked at me as she walked by several times, let alone greet me or ask how everything was. (I was one of three occupied tables, so the restaurant wasnt busy or crowded.) I got biscuits and gravy, waffles, and a scramble. Waffles were good. Scramble was good. Biscuits and gravy were VERY good. And a piece of chocolate-hazelnut cake, which was delicious. Kind of expensive. And the hours are not great, since they close at 3:00. Im rarely ever available to eat anywhere in Bellingham unless its in the evening because of my work hours. Being vegan, I was excited to know there was an all-vegan option in my new hometown, but I probably wont be a regular. I was pretty disappointed, actually, by the whole experience.
