I love West Marine. However, this location is almost always out of stock on one or more items I come in to shop for.

If I could give zero I would.I was never given a receipt for my purchase and they never mentioned I would need it for a return, so now I’m stuck with a gift card for a business I will never spend money at again.

Russ the manager did the right thing and discounted an Garmin Echomap 94cv for me after after a mixup. All the employees were very professional, curious and helpful. Going to a retail outlet has its advantages !

Most expensive place to buy pretty much ANYTHING. Not a very wide selection of items either. The only people who shop here are those that just dont know any better. Go to LFS instead - at least 15% cheaper, with a 10x wider selection.

I have been in every West Marine store from Southern California to Vancouver BC. This one is the most well kept and neat in appearance. I missed the sale on the large advertised purchase and was one day late but they gave me the sale price anyway. Later I was making a new harness for my dinghy and davit and the manager, Russ, inspected my clamping and decided he could do it better and I felt a whole lot safer.

Bella helped us return some items today that we had shipped to our home and she provided excellent customer service.We have visited this store a handful of times and each visit has been impressive, friendly, and informative when needed. We will sometimes go out of our way just to go to this store because it is an all-around impressive resource.

Yeah, Ive been in this store several times over the last couple of years and I would say that management isnt making a priority out of customer service. The first time I went in I had questions concerning boat electrical. The person who was mining the till didnt know anything and there wasnt anyone else in the store, all at lunch. I was looking at products trying to figure out what I needed to do and she sends a guy back to help me, and as I was talking to him I figuring out that hes just a customer, not an employee of the store. Really, have a customer help a customer? In the end it turned out that this customer was less than real informed about boat electrical issues. I been in the store several times since. Its always the same, hard to get service and any advise is poor. Today I was in the store. The young guy who helped me was nice enough, but had no knowledge about the product that I wanted to buy.At any rate seems that the management of the store is pretty poor. Theres nothing wrong with the products or pricing. Your just not going to get any service. So you need to know what your doing and know what you want. Better to just order on the West Marine website. They always make a big deal out of having a web order delivered to the store and I suspect that they get the sales credit to the store when you do. But seeing how orders over a certain amount get fee shipping, why not just have the product come to you home. Its really just too bad that the store isnt better.

Every time Ive gone to this store, the staff have been so helpful, and showed me personally where things are, rather than just pointing or telling me the aisle to look in. Theyve spent time answering questions to help me decide the best product to buy. I always look forward to going back for my next purchase for my boat.

Terrible customer service. Tried getting pricing on a new pump for my boat, was told I would get a call in a few hours but I was never called back. I called them 4 days later and asked if anything had been found and I was informed they never called their supplier and that they would get right on it. I called 3 days later and still nothing had been found. I got their manager involved and gave him the information off my pump and was told it would be taken care of. 3 days later I get a call back and was informed on what parts where available yet they still had not quoted me a new pump. Its now been 2 weeks and I still dont have an answer. If you want to waste your time go here.

Terrific store with excellent customer service and knowledgeable staff. Everything you need for your boat, and other water sports, and clothes, too.

I had always steered away from shopping at West Marine, referring to them as the Evil Empire. (I have long preferred shopping at smaller locally owned businesses). I stopped in occasionally when I could not find what I needed elsewhere in town. Russ, the store manager always greeted me by name and made me feel very welcome. If they did not have what I needed in store, he could arrange to have it brought from another store or their warehouse.I am upgrading the dated electronics on our Jeanneau 43DS, starting with a new VHF radio with remote station. They had as good a price as I could find on-line.Next is the chart plotter. I asked Russ about features and benefits of their various offerings and he turned me over to Trent, who has a wealth of knowledge about electronics. He is very patient and pleasant and helpful.You might not find the same level of service at all West Marine stores, but in Bellingham, WA Russ and Trent are there to help you out.They are currently training new staff members for the season, and I have observed how Russ and Trent are helping get them up to speed. They are learing from the best!Russ and Trent get 5-stars in my book. I am rating the store at 4-stars only because they are a small store with limited in-store inventory.
