Great, flavorful dark roast and excellent scones served by friendly staff. Nice to have coffee with a view of the harbor on their back deck, but this would still be a 5-star review. Great place and bicycles too!

We stopped in as we traveled home from Acadia to Massachusetts and I have to say I was made the best latte I’ve ever had (and I’ve had plenty!). The bike shop was super awesome and I loved the bike themed chandelier. Staff was extremely friendly and warm. What a pleasant stop for some much needed caffeine. Cheers!

Great coffee and cool concept of bikes + coffee. Espresso is on point and barista is very friendly and welcoming. Good bar seating inside (finally open!) to watch the action, a patio our back, great little parklet out front, and green space across the street!

Downshift felt fresh and new. What I really liked was the vibe being seemingly part bike shop, part coffee, part fun. I enjoyed one of the tempting cookies with maple and it was just soft enough and the maple flavor was about right. The shop was not opened inside but take out was available, however, it looked like the owners had done a nice job creating an inviting space.

Great food and coffee. Their ham and cheese scone is a new favorite pastry of mine. The cappuccino was crafted beautifully and the building is beautiful and in a great location. The experience was good enough for me to write this review.

Downshift Coffee is the absolute best cup in the area! After being in Bar Harbor for a week and looking for good coffee we were happy to find them on our way to Portland to leave. GREAT coffee shop in the a really cool harbor town. The bonus was that just like everywhere else we went the staff and customers were awesome people to hang out with! WORTH the detour!

This may be the best hot chocolate I have ever had. Went twice during our visit. Had it with Oat Milk and it was delicious. Staff was very sweet and thought it was neat to have a coffee and bike shop together.

Wow!! Highly recommend this coffee shop. Even though we couldn’t go inside due to COVID (thank you for being so responsible and keeping us all safe!), the interior of the shop was really cool with a great vibe. The service was wonderful - such a friendly team.Menu - finally a great cup of coffee for an affordable price. Roast coffee, cappuccinos, etc. I ordered a Mocha even though it’s not listed on the menu and they made it perfectly.Only thing worth noting - the largest size isn’t very large. It’s more like a medium. But for the price you can easily get 2 larges if you really need and it’s probably still cheaper than Starbucks or another fancy coffee shop.Very much looking forward to returning.

They were slammed as soon as they opened the door, but they worked quickly to take care of everyone. The ham and cheese scone was out of this world.

Very nice coffee shop, definatley a perk of spending my summer in Belfast. The baristas are all outgoing and lovely. Left my wallet there and Allisandra worked hard to seuth out my number. Also, they make good espresso. (:

This is such a great coffee spot in Belfast, and thank you to the City of Belfast for allowing downtown restaurants to use parking spots for seating outside. Grabbing a cup of really great coffee here and socializing outside (safe, distanced) has been so great both this past summer, and in the winter! This is the spot for the best coffee in town.

We were in Belfast on vacation last week and we were happy to see Downshift Coffee in town (this was not our first time in Belfast). The coffee is fantastic, the pastries are excellent and fairly priced and the owner is a really friendly and nice person. Seems to really truly care about his customers and community.

This should be a must go-to coffee shop if you’re ever passing through Belfast. Had the pleasure of stumbling upon this place and trying their latte, espresso, iced chai, and chocolate chip cookie - everything was excellent.Didn’t catch the name of the owner, but he used to bake professionally and it shows. The cookie had a delicate crisp texture on the edges with a softer, yet still firm center. They roast their own beans, and use double ristretto shots which give a sweeter, creamier taste. And the oat milk used for the iced chai is made from scratch. They just opened this May, so only offer take-out at the moment, but it’s definitely worth making a pit spot in Belfast just for this place! Definitely coming back again.

Staying in a small town in midcoast Maine, I was worried that we wouldn’t be able to find a place with great espresso drinks, but Downshift Coffee assuaged my fears! Well-made lattes and an air pot of delicious brewed coffee.

This place just opened up recently (yes during the epidemic) and Im happy to have some good espresso around town! Theyre taking precautions, sanitizing payment pads, and distancing responsibly.Cardamom snickerdoodle had a good chew and flavor, and my Americano was nutty and fresh. Two thumbs up for eco friendly cups!
