Ive been going to this diner for most of my life with no complaints, but after my first delivery order amidst COVID-19 I was too impressed to not leave a public review. Both the man who took my order and the man delivering my food were both very polite, and all of my items came hot, fresh, and delicious! I also got some unexpected bacon which was nice as well.For a delivery order I was taken away at how well presented and neat a breakfast consisting of waffles, ice cream, sausage, a sandwich, and a coffee--we ordered for two--got to me, and in good timing as well. They also hooked it up with all of the necessities and condiments I needed without my asking. Ill continue to not hesitate to dine here gladly at anytime, and now Ill be ordering delivery more often as well.

Its been closed for a while now but, I grew up in there. Food was good.
This was the old 8th Street Diner of the past. It is now a Bistro place. Service and food is good. Prices a little higher then the past but that is to be expected. Generous portions served and clean. They arent opened 24 hrs. as in the past, I think they close at 11pm during the week and pretty sure they open at 6 am. Might be opened 24 hrs on Friday and Saturday nights. You should check before you go. Recommend it.
Awesome food, and fantastic employees. I recomend the pasta dishes! Definitely try the specials when you get a chance.
I admire this place very much. It has a very nice air. The kitcen is splendid. the service is powerful and the personel is trained. The price is honest. deeply recommend.

Best breakfast on the face of this earth. I had french toast & a side of scrambled eggs with orange juice. I realized after the first bite and sip. The orange juice is fresh squeezed what more can you ask.
The place is old fashioned. Everything including the patrons are old. That has a certain charm to it though and if you want a quiet, local place with okay service, the Broadway Diner is fine.
I had a bad experience for five reasons.1) The menu said it had Coke but they had Pepsi. (Not that big of deal)2) I ordered a French Dip and there was no Au Jus! The waitress said it didnt come with a dip or sauce. Thats what makes a French DIP, a French DIP! The sandwich was pretty tasty though.3) I didnt get offered a refill until I was done with my meal.4) I got pretty sick after I ate, and I never get food poisoning.5) I saw a pest management guy with a bag walking in when I was in my truck about to leave. Maybe he was just there to eat lunch, maybe not.Overall, the worst restaurant experience in my entire life.
Very good food. Ive gone here on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed their food. From the breakfast menu, to sandwiches, to entrees, its all delicious.

Been going here since we moved to Bayonne 5 years ago. They have a wide menu. Service is friendly and good. Prices reasonable. I like the hot open faced roast beef which is a generous portion. The pastrami sandwich is good. My son likes the spaghetti and meatballs, the grilled london broil and the french dip. The breakfasts are very good with a wide selection. The hamburgers are only so so. We like this diner and we go at least a few times a month

I just moved here to bayonne. And have no food at home. Place was very clean and inviting. My waitress was very pleasant and food was excellent I will be back for more. Best blueberry pancakes ever.
AWESOME! Pancakes were out of this world! Flavorful, light and fluffy. DO NOT start me on the coffee! Fresh oj. I live in Staten Island, but will return for the Sunday Italian buffet from 3-9. Prices are reasonable and portions are fine. When in Bayonne, my new go-to place.
The food is okay, quick, and cheap. But the facility is dated and in need of an update. Literally saw duct tape on the wall holding the paneling together by the window and a seat at the counter that snapped in half.
My family and I ate here at 3pm today and my husband ordered meatloaf comes with 3 slices, salad and penne pasta on the side. The meatloaf are too dry and crusty and my husband just ate a slice. I ordered chicken gyro wrap with onion ring and fries on the side but the gyro sauce taste Plain mayo. But my kids ordered hamburgers so no complain. They like it so far and the burgers are bigger than the bun.

Great Diner food for Jersey. However they also, have Italian Bistro which is outstanding. Try the Roast Turkey, mozzarella and pepper sandwich with balsamic vinegar. Yum!
Known in Bayonne for its family friendly environment and reliable grub! Great for big groups, grabbing coffee with an old friend or even food to-go. Constantly evolving menu with new specials all the time. Although wish there were more vegetarian-friendly options.

I am debating on whether to give this diner 1 or 2 stars. This diner definitely does not deserve 4 or 5 stars. I am not sure if when you call to place an order for pickup if they are even listening to your order. Every time I order, I order my GRILLED chicken salad. They ALWAYS give me ROASTED chicken (YUCK). I dont understand how they ALWAYS get it wrong. The salads are over priced and then they get angry with you when you tell them that its not what you ordered. As I clearly remember when I drove all the way back to the diner I was told Make sure youre specific. I AM VERY SPECIFIC, your workers just dont care. I dont understand why I still continue to even get anything from here, maybe because theyre only a couple of blocks from here and on my way home from work I am EXHAUSTED and just want something quick. Today was the last day I will order from here.

The food was great . Your cashier is very slow she moves like a turtle . I was waiting to be seated while she was doing a scratch off . I asked my waitress for more coffee and she got very mad she Is very small and is Chinese .Overall everything was good . I will be coming back

Great service from the young writer Danny. Same menu as the Uptown diner, but friendly, faster staff. The Bayonne Sample is my favorite. I usually order It with 2 eggs on the side.

Fast service always busy now. Clean different pricing insurance youre in the neighborhood and you need a quick lunch or breakfast go for it

I dont normally leave reviews, but i felt the need to say something because all the previous reviews for this diner say the staff are very friendly, but that is not what I experienced. My waitress was extremely rude. When ordering she made us feel like we were annoying her. We ordered pineapple juice and it came half full. Very unprofessional. Definitely will never be going there again.

A lot of food for the price. I dont sit in much. I usually order take out and bring it home. They give you a large amount of food. Usually enough for 2 servings. Sometimes the food could use a little seasoning. I like to get the burgers but I know that I will need to add season to them. Still I would go back because of the value.

The staff is always friendly, as far as diner food goes theyre definitely doing it right. They make some of the best Bloody Marys youll ever have I would definitely recommend stopping in and giving this place a shot.

The Weekend Specials at the Broadway Diner are fabulous. My wife and I ordered the Vermont Turkey dinner. It came with stuffing, potato, vegetable, crabberry sauce, a cup of soup, salad, bread and butter, hot beverage and desert. All that food for $13.
Spanish food for the most part is decent and fairly priced
The waitress service was good. The French fries were soggy, the gravy was very salty. Preferr the uptown dinner .
Only there once for takeout , had better but good. The other Broadway dinner near 50th is very good.

Im a fan of diners in general and been to some really great ones and others that are so-so. I was hoping to like this place and have it as a go to, but this diner is below average, nothing special. Sunny side eggs still had raw egg whites and home fries were not crispy at all despite ordering it. Will not be going back.

Ive been coming here for years. Friendly service, nice portions. My favorite selections are the breakfast (avoid the grits, but how many places do it right outside the south anyway?) items like the waffles and their club sandwiches.
Just there for breakfast, #1 Im the only customers the waitress is on her phone had to wait? Now I order the$9 bacon &egg ?waitress never came back again then one way to bathroom I notice this floor is filthy with old food,straws and napkins under the tables and the waitress is on her phone again ,,no tip and wont be back
My first time here and most likely my last. The waitress was not on point when checking on our table. The bus boy was very nice and made sure our table was clear after we were done with our plates. The calmari was over cooked and the gravy had a hair in it which was part of my Turkey dinner which I lost complete appetite. In my experience I wouldnt recommend this place to any of my family or friends. One good thing is the music was poppin!
5/12/18 @ 10:30am.The hostess and guy at the cash register are very rude. We come in and I go to the guy and tel him table for 3 please. He tells me its not his job and refers to the hostess. She completely ignores the fact that we are standing there and take the next people behind us. This is very rude and management should definitely have a talk with them of how customer service works. Like when you walk in good morning, welcome to Broadway dinner. Instead of just staring at you when you walk in. Other than that bad service when walking in which is everytime. The waitresses are always great and so is the food.

It was awful, the service was the worst I ever seen. I ordered B.L.T. the Bacon was burnt, only had two slices of bacon, one thick piece of tomato and about two inches of lettuce. They didnt even give or offer pickles and or Cole slaw.and they dont even give you water. I will never go back there again. Oh plus they got works with long hair that were not wearing hair nets

Has really gone downhill, last time I had breakfast I was sick for a day... definitely ate something bad. My wifes creamer was stringy and they said it was because of the heat...ummmmmm why would that matter if you properly store things in the correct temperatures? Answer, you dont.

I had a HORRIBLE experience here tonight. The food wasnt good at all my soup came to me warm at best & my fish was bland. They wouldnt take off the fish even though I only took one bite & then we asked to exchange waffle fries for regular fries. They took the waffle fries back to the kitchen & then charged us for the waffle fries & regular fries. I use to go here & to the one up town regularly. Im srsly thinking about stopping both.
Lately the waitresses have been horrible! Made me stop going and a few people I know also, because of my experience. I’m in the customer service field, so when I get eyes rolling and nasty looks when I ask for another juice or ketchup, and can’t find the waitress for over 15 mins, it’s just bad customer service. I won’t put names out there, because everyone needs a job. But the 8th street diner has to train them better. I complained one time, it was on a Sunday evening, and they told me “oh she’s never like that” really ?? Didn’t even get an apology. This is my local diner and will like to support but not if I try again and I get a horrible waitress.

We had to flag down another waiter to get the check because she was no where in sight. This was one of the most unprofessional customer service i ever experienced.The waitress who didnt have a name tag was wearing glasses and is asian.

Wifey brought me in for birthday lunch. Been decades since Ive eaten here. Tremendous difference. Large menu with a great assortment of goodies. You need to come in with a big appetite but you can still get a puppy bag to bring home.
