Im updating my review, after reaching out to the owner he did let me know the policy on the receipt was correct, I should have been able to exchange it and explained that he had a lot of new employees recently. As an exception for the situation I was offered cash back, which I didnt take. I did however return the game for store credit and applied it toward another purchase. The assistant manager did make sure to tell me that the plush I decided to buy would not be returnable (LOL duh) but over all Im satisfied with the customer service given. It was my own mistake purchasing a game I already owned, however I wouldnt have drove all the way back to exchange it if it wasnt for the wording on the receipt. I just ask that the owner trains all his employees to respect the return policy or remove it from the receipt so theres no future confusion. I always find the best posters at this store. Im glad the issue was resolved so I will feel comfortable returning to support this business.Original review below:Their return policy is very misleading. My receipt states movies, video games, music and accessories may be exchanged within 14 days. There are no returns or exchanges on vinyl records. I bought the wrong game by mistake, already had a copy at home. Came back the next day to try and exchange for something else or get store credit and was told I could only sell it back to them for less than half the price I bought it.. which is some pretty lame customer service. So I guess Im not coming an hour out of my way to support this store anymore.

Recently I bought a game for myself, and a birthday present for a friend, at the Battle Creek Disc Traders location. We were very happy with the items from this location and the customer service provided by the young employees. We had hoped to continue to have this wonderful service in the near future to come, however that isn’t possible anymore.It has come to my attention that over the past few months the delightful employees at this location are constantly, and suddenly, having to quit their job because of the unacceptable behavior of the Battle Creek Disc Traders manager. It makes me sad to know that these nice and decent human beings are treated so unprofessionally.

I was able to purchase a PS5 from these awesome folks. There was an incident of another person wanting the same item when I got in there and was completely irate and inappropriate. The staff, as awkward as they should have been, Handle the situation with class and I felt safe... (Even though I had to call the police and be escorted to my truck lol) The customer service is great and management is also great

Disc Traders is a good place for buying video games and consoles. The only thing setting it back is selling prices. You get the same prices from there as GameStop, and they arent good.

I visited this establishment on 8/2/21 and i was super excited yet nervous, because devices can be quite costly. Anywho, so i finalllyyy made a decision to purchase the “only nintendo switch” that they had. it was an animal crossing version which i wasn’t too excited about so i had asked him in the first place if they had anything else available. he told me no. this was their only switch. he said “he put this out himself” okay. so i took his word for it. and i bought it. handed over cash in hand. tore off the plastic, pulled the screen out of the dock and it had this huge gash in it. clear as day and deep. so then i ask for my money back seeming you don’t have an exchange. Somehow they had one in the back even though i asked them that originally. and they said no. so i purchased what they had. then they tell me i can come back in to them in a few days and if they get a switch, they’ll exchange it. I cried and cried and sat in my vehicle defeated. i will never go back to disc traders and will absolutely most definitely be sharing my experience with anyone and everyone.

I love disc traders and there employees are nice most of the time I will always speak highly of them but they fired my stepdad cause he didn’t get there on time but that aside disc traders is a a good place to get cheap 2nd hand games and movies

Store used to be good, but has slowly been going downhill. Most recently found out about the what the manager firing some of the helpful employees trying to hide his affair. Truly disgusting and I hope they do better.

I always find a few things to buy at disctraders. Take a few good pictures of cool stuff. This was my first time at this location since its about 1.5 hrs away from where I live. They had a whole disc golf section, which is different from the kind of things they normally carry. I picked of a copy of Mass Effect 3 Collectors Edition for Xbox 360, it was in near mint condition and was $9, win for me.

I just stood around whilst at this store, but my friend bought a lot of great stuff.

Helpful staff. My twins also enjoyed shopping experience.

As a gamer I love going to Disc Traders. With game music usually playing on the radio, plenty of video games and merch, its a classic gamers paradise.If youre not a gamer they also sell movies, music, and even disc golf discs.The store is always clean and the employees know their stuff.Its a great place to shop.

Went in the other week to trade some games in to be told “Your ID is expired therefore we can’t take it” so let me get something straight, TSA is taking expired ID’s currently due to the pandemic, I can buy tobacco products still with my expired ID, and I used my expired ID at freaking GameStop just fine but y’all can’t. Utter bs in my opinion. Get it together! Put a sign up or something damn.

Bought a movie I accidentally already previously bought so I tried to bring it back ($7 movie) and use the $7 towards two other movies I forgot to pick up. They did NOT state that they don’t take returns. It even states on the receipt “ MOVIES , VIDEO GAMES, MUSIC, AND ACCESSORIES MAY BE EXCHANGED WITHIN 14 DAYS” I literally spent $105 the day BEFORE. Also because of the “change shortage” I heard this man rounding up to almost whole dollar above what their bill was. Like their bill was $5.20. So he said “if you don’t have exact change we can round it up to $6”. Greedy business. Enjoy my $136 bill all together.

Good choice of games for the gamers

Selling electronics at a price almost equivalent to the price of a new product. Its usually so packed its not easy to get seen quickly. Does have a nice selection of movies games consoles computers and smaller electronics.

Ok little store

A friend of mine came in this afternoon who has has mental issues. He traded in a game and was offered so much money on a printed receipt. When my friend told the employees how much he paid they lowered the price after offering the first amount. Then they also lowballed him on some other games when it was supposed to be 30% extra credit. They employees were rude and unfriendly and my friend has been coming to disc traders for the last 3 years.

This is a great place to get inexpensive games. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and always makes sure we have everything we need. (As an added bonus: theyre also usually cheaper than Game Stop or other similar stores.) Were a family of gamers, which means we shop there a lot, and weve never had a problem with any game theyve sold us. Definitely give this place a shot. Youll be very happy you did.

I have a preorder of FF7 remake and it’s been 2 weeks. You were suppose to be opened on the 1st but that never happened for store pick. this is pathetic that I can not get my game I am going to gamestop from now on. Keep my cash. I will never shop here in Battle Creek again. How do you do pre-orders and curbside pick up but don’t have peoples games.

Will no longer shop here or suggest shopping here to anyone; rude employees, litterly made fun of by choice of games at one. The worst was being thrown out since I didnt have a mask on, which is not a law an is illegal to pass medical advice on to someone without being a doctor. Will continue shopping at GameStop atleast they have the decency to respect their shoppers.

Employees are friendly and helpful

Theyre always nice and make sure youre taken care of. If they dont know the answer to your question (which is rare) they will look it up for you. The atmosphere there is very relaxed as well.

I was going to give four stars because they dont have EVERY game I want, then I realized all the games I want are really old. They have a HUGE selection of old games, Ive gotten most of my collection from here. Staff is really nice and the store is easy to navigate. Best media store in BC.

Some things are priced outta my budget but others are way low priced. Its a great place to buy. I always find something here even if I cant afford it. Also the wishlist is ingenious. If they dont have it theyll let you know as soon as it comes in. Who else does that? I love how accommodating the deals are too.

Disc traders is the best place to find used movies and video games. The prices are always fair and the staff is so helpful. The battle Creek location also had CDs so that was neat.

Great store. Ive been doing business with this place off and on since they first opened a few years ago. Theyve managed to get pretty big in just a short time. The people have always been helpful and friendly.

Its a good place to buy retro games for retro systems. If youre not a gamer, thats okay because they also have a movie section. I personally go here to buy GBA games which are listed in a good price.

Don’t pre-order here ever! I preordered a game and waited till it’s release date, three days later I’m still waiting. I love the prices they give you and the many things they have for sale but they won’t even let me get my money back for my pre-order like huge waste of time. The point of a preordering is getting it the same day it comes out and this happened multiple times were they just don’t have a game until weeks after it came out.

Id never buy anything from here again. I bought a used Xbox one X. Which I found out was just $25 less then buying brand new. The controller didnt work. I exchanged and bought a new one. They said that it had a one year warranty from the manufacturer. Months later that brand new controller isnt working and xbox says there is only a 3 month warranty on it. I call them to explain how their employee gave me false information that led to me buying a brand new controller instead of a used one. They gave me the wrong warranty info and should be held liable. They said there is nothing they can do about it. This place definitely got me on many levels with their sales. But never again.

This is not my favorite Disc Traders, to no fault of the employees there. The employees are friendly, approachable, and helpful. I just dont seem to find as much of what Im looking for at this one compared to the Grandville one (and I live closer to BC).

Have been to this location many times. I have never, not once, had an exchange with an employee. Thats a bit jarring when there are so many viable alternatives.

I literally dont even want to give this place one star, my experience last night was so horrendous, and truthfully the time before wasnt so great either. I called around 3pm to ask when they stop taking stuff in, I had a laptop to sell. I told them this as I wasnt even sure they take laptops. They said they do, and that they stop taking at 8:30pm. We arrived at the store at 7:57pm. We were informed that laptops take 2-5 hrs to take because they have to do 2 resets. We drove almost an hour, why wasnt I informed of this on the phone? I asked that as I was pretty frustrated, there was a guy, (assuming management) sitting behind a computer, didnt look up, simply said, Im sure you were told that on the phone! Very rude, implying that I was told that and what, basically decided to waste my time driving all the way there to argue and be treated as if I was inconveniencing them? My friend was with us, the reason I needed to take this in was because I have a family emergency up north and needed to get there. So she said she would go get a couple game remotes she had at her house and we could bring them in to help out. So we ran to her house which is literally 10 min away, we arrived back at 8:29pm according to my clock, the manager guy informed me that he stops taking trades at 8:30pm, and that it was now 8:31! I was shocked as he knew the situation, I hadnt been rude, I expressed my frustrations, but in a decent manner, and he was extremely pleased with himself. I was there on time, and seriously, one minute? So I wasted 2hrs of my time for nothing, just to be treated like they are too good for my business. I have spent a lot of money in this store, I wont be back. Clearly its too much to ask for them to be informative and professional, so from now on I will take my business elsewhere. The last time I was there, I had a question and was also asking for help finding something and the girl with dark hair rolled her eyes and was short and snappy. Well I guess if you organized your store a bit you wouldnt have these problems! So thoroughly disgusting

What is bad to say about Disc Traders... there games are well priced, they have classics, funko pops, discs, and tons of movies at a very very mild price. I always choose the store over Gamestop. In the past i have traded movies and games for cash, and i have always received a fair price in return. Check it out and see for yourself

First thing first. Matt the assistant manager was very kind. I wasnt able to trade my ps4 pro but he was very kind and excellent with my fiance and I. All the staff was great and lively. I recomend disc traders over any video game and media stores! 5 stars.

Weird, how many people complained about their service. Overall, the store has an extremely expansive selection. A lot of people complained about customer service, and I even read a review from a person who got mad because the staff didnt attend to him when he stood there. Best prices on games in Battle Creek, I picked up a brand new batman game from them for about 40 bucks. To experience this store thoroughly, go inside, find what youre looking for, take it to the front counter, and purchase it.

This is a good place to pick up obscure dvds or old games of your a collector. Pretty well organized for surfing through the aisles . Also the staff are decent most times.

This place has a wide selection of video games, music, and movies on a wide array of formats. The prices are awesome and there is something for everyone. Definitely worth the drive if you arent in Battle Creek. I have never tried to trade or sell anything there so I cannot comment on that. They have tons of reasonably priced gaming accessories also. Also stuff for disc golf and probably some other things too that I may have not noticed because Im always focused on the huge selection of games. I never feel pressured or rushed there either which is good because there is a lot to see :)

I bought a ps4 and some games. Because, for some odd reason, they charged my card from out of state, my bank flagged my account at great inconveniance.

Love this place! Its our go-to family movie/game night and when we are wanting to get rid of movies/games we can box them up, take them to Disc Traders and get enough $ to buy some more entertainment!

I primarily use them for my Disc golf needs and have always had great help from staff. They have even broken out ladders to read disc info for me (chart is on wall and high up) i have bought games and music as well. We have been customers since they opened and can honestly say, never had a bad experience.

Love going there, great deals, staff, and love the nostolgia I get when I see the old games I played as a kid.

Music selection was VERY POOR, just one small rack, and all their prices started at $3.99 and up! Employees were nice enough but slow. Store was clean. About 55% games, 35% movies, 10% music/collectibles/other. This is part of the Disk Replay chain, so they still use those stupid stickers all over the CD cases; at-least all but one came off easily this time. A suggestion to the owners: your store is only labeled as a “CD store” on Google maps, you should relabel it to a “video game store”; you would get more search hits and that is clearly your target market.
