Treasures to be searched for in this place. I cant remember the guys name...Ill be sure to ask but dont let that statement chase you away from this place. Hes a straight shooter and very knowledgeable to talk to and you could tell he has love the hobby.

Idk where ide get my books without you Steve so keep up the good work, kinda wonder if the negative review from someone complaining about a 20 min wait wasnt due to the fact that Steve runs his store solo and he is always willing to spend time chatting with his customers/fellow comic fans, so be patient THE EXP IS WORTH THE WAIT!!!

I’ve been there twice, same experience both times. The clerk was too busy chatting it up casually with a buddy each time to say one word to me. The first time, I went in looked and left since no one even cared I walked in. The second time I went I was there looking for something for a friend and when I asked for what I was looking for I was met with a condescending voice tone, no yup, never going back, money talks and my money is best spent elsewhere where they actually want my business.

Wonderful locally owned business. I come to this shop for all of my comic and DnD needs. Even if you arent into that sort of thing, I still suggest stopping by. Steve the owner is always willing to Converse and make you feel welcomed. He also has plenty of DnD figurines and a good magic card selection. Also, has a very well organized selection of comics, in all price ranges.

They used to be the best price for MTG cards (pretty much the whole reason I got there) and for that Id have given them a third star. Now (and this is not to say anything too negative) their not even the best priced place for cards. Their selection for accessories is hit or miss. Want dice or a cheap deck box? Check them out. Want any real selection of deck boxes, card sleeves, binders (and Ive never even seen game mats there)? Then youll no doubt do best elsewhere. They do have both solid selection and good prices for card boxes. What drags them down is a combination of competition and minimal offering. It doesnt help that years ago the place had FNM and did away with it.......regardless of the reason.

This is a well-run comic book store. When I was growing up in Battle Creek, long before the advent of comic shops, I used to get most of my comics at Alexanders Pharmacy. My Grandma Fannie and Grandpa Joe lived right around the corner. The office of our dentist, Dr. Borsum, was also nearby, and there were other businesses there that my parents frequented. At Alexanders, I bought Jim Sterankos issues of SHIELD, and Jack Kirbys New Gods, Barry Windsor-Smiths Conan, and so many others that are still treasured by collectors.Years later, Discount Hobby provides a kind of selection of comics I could only dream about when I was a child. I look forward to stopping in whenever I am able to visit Battle Creek again.

My favorite place to get my comics And my daughters absolutely love it. The owner is always friendly and helpful, and makes it an awesome experience for the girls. If you want a book that isnt there, all you have to do is ask.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS! The owner of this store is a total homophobe!I have gone to this store a few times in the past to purchase items, and each time the owner has been very cold and short with me. I figured he just wasnt very social.Upon my most recent visit, I was in the store for a good 30 minutes while the owner was chatting with a friend. I was not helped in the entire time I was in the store. I did, however, overhear the owner make several crass comments about women and use some homophobic slurs. After hearing him make such ignorant and offensive remarks, I immediately left the store and decided to purchase my hobby items elsewhere. I will not support a business with such skewed and hateful views. There is absolutely NO reason for someone in this day and age to make such hateful comments about the LGBTQ Community.

Great little hobby shop. Not a huge selection of sports cards but tons of comic and magic related items and a very friendly proprietor!

The organization of the ship was pretty confusing, and I was disappointed to hear the workers shaming DC and Marvel for promoting diversity. Im surprised that they didnt just make Nightwing a hermaphrodite. They should have just made Bucky Cap, but he wasnt diverse enough. Everyone is bitching about Black Widow toys, and I guess my niece would want one, but just get her Spider-Man.There are gonna be kids coming in here for their first books, and they should be encouraged regardless of race and gender - thats whats so cool about the community :)

The store is very organized and the staff was super knowledgeable and pretty honest about the stock. He was helpful in helping me find manga from tokyopop which has been out of business. Cool to talk to about a diverse amount of hobbies

Discount Hobbby is a Battle Creek institution. Its the go-to location for comic books, manga, trading and sport cards and tabletop game supplies all at a discount price like the name implies.
