I absolutely love it here. My sister and I make this our special treat spot. Hands down some of my favorite coffee and the sweets are amazing. The customer service is on point. So warm and welcoming. I love the atmosphere and seeing the art work. Love love love!

Quaint little place within walking distance of the Capitol. Not a big selection, but friendly staff and great atmosphere!

Coffee was EXCEPTIONAL! Homemade chocolates were to die for. The pastries looked amazing and I wish Id tried one. I plan to go back. This seems like the best hidden coffee shop in Baton Rouge. Definitely an old world vibe..

This is such a special little place. Its homey, quiet, and they make delicious coffee. Their pastries are also delightful! The Old World Toffee coffee is my favorite. Ive never had lunch here, but I cant wait to go back and try it!

This place is awesome. The owners are so friendly and the interior is very relaxing. They make some really, really great food. Their chicken salad is different and I always order it when Im there for lunch. If you catch them when theyre having one of their high teas sign up. They do a really fantastic job.

The vibe is happy, the food is fresh and the patrons are a congenial little group. I love the salads that offer a variety of ingredients and flavorful dressings. The servings are very generous. This is also a great place to drop in for an herbal tea or lemonade and a huge cookie or other pastry.

Very nice and cozy place. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I like the decor inside the cafe. They have few pasties that are pretty good. Clean bathrooms.

This is my favorite coffee and pastry shop in Baton Rouge. The pastries are homemade and fresh every time I go, and the Matterhorn White Chocolate latte is so good! The staff is so personable and they now know my order whenever I walk in. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that it isn’t open late!

This cafe is great but it would have been excellent if the store didnt charge as much as 8-9 dollars for a sandwich and a side.The building itself is very nice and is located near the Visit BR HQ. I went here for lunch during the early lunch hours, a little after 11 AM so I didnt really have to wait.Now for the food...My friend and I ordered the chicken salad sandwich (each sandwich comes with a side; I chose quinoa and my friend went for the sweet potato chips). You cant go wrong with whichever side you pick.The portions of chicken salad in the sandwich were quite generous but the sliced bread used in the sandwich was the standard size you would find in a store. I was expecting it to be bigger since the lunch cost altogether over 17 dollars. (This wasnt even including drinks). The bread was special though. Instead of the normal options such as wheat or white, the bread they bake has poppy seeds and other ingredients that make it taste great.If you do have the appetite to eat desert, try their plum tart!

Lovely small buisness in downtown BR. They have a rotating menu of pastries and handcrafted chocolates that are to die for! Get on iced old-world toffee coffee and thank me later!

I had SEVERAL bugs in my mocha coffee at least 30 bugs!!!On 9/24/2015 I decided to go strands café the weather was nice. I order the mocha coffee with almond milk. There was foam on the top of the drink, so I sipped and I swallowed something. I was hoping it was coffee grounds. I took my knife to swirl away the foam and sure enough there was bugs floating around the edge of the glass and swallowed one or maybe even two. of course I got a refund, but that was still extremely unacceptable. first and last time going there. tragic

Very awesome café downtown. They serve some breakfast and lunch. They make the most everything in-house. They also have beautiful chocolate shop, and a chocolatier in house house. And yes, they will make custom chocolates for you. Highly recommended.

Best CAFE in All Baton Rouge!!

Strands is now closed. It closed during the flood and has not reopened. The sign on the door says, God Bless Our Community through this floodwater crisis. We will be temporarily closed while we undergo restoration. Well see you soon! I have been by several times, but no luck. There does not appear to be any work going on or any hint at an opening.

Just went there and it was pretty great. The employees are very welcoming and down to earth. The pastries are very delicous!

Such a great spot in BR with the best coffee in town! I’m a huge fan of their Tierra Caliente latte, which is a housemade syrup with spices and dark chocolate. Soo good! :D You have to try their lemon scones and chocolates too.

Nice people, too many knicknacks to purchase everywhere! The food was ok, but under seasoned and over priced. Coffee was the same, boring. Wifi, but had to ask for the password, not posted. Bring quarters for parking they do not have park mobile and the lot that does is $7.95! Will keep looking for my new coffee place to my new city.
