FABULOUS ice cream cakes. I haven’t had much else here, but from the first time we got one, Durban’s cakes have been a staple for birthdays in our family ever since! Incomparably superior to Dairy Queen’s (and for a much better price!)

There are so many small, local ice cream shops in this town and Durbin Magic Freeze is one thats offering tasty treats at an affordable price! You cant miss this small ice cream shop as its sitting right on the corner of a busy intersection and theres always people outside waiting to get some ice cream. They offer a variety of rotating flavors and offer everything sweet from dipped cones to root beer floats! No savory foods sold at this ice cream stand, just sweets! Their flavors are common ingredients you would find at most other ice cream shops but you cant beat them on price! We were greeted, not once, not twice, but three times! The service here is attentive and they seem ready and happy to help. Atmosphere sticks to its classic roots just like most all other businesses around here and they even have an ice cream cake shop right next door! Overall, this place was nice to try out and see what the hype was about. I would definitely come back here.I got the smores cyclone and my wife got the second to smallest cotton candy cone and our friend with us got a vanilla malt shake. Im not sure what I was expecting but the way they do their smores is different which I appreciated. The ice cream was a milk chocolate base with marshmallow fluff mixed with it and instead of using graham crackers, they used waffle cone pieces. My cyclone was topped off with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and a cherry on top. I really liked it but it was more of the consistency of a shake than a cyclone or blizzard or mcflurry or (insert snowy adjective here). Still good nonetheless. I tried my wifes cotton candy cone and it was a custard base and it was a very rich and tasty ice cream with a balanced cotton candy flavor. Our friend said she really liked her malt but I didnt get the chance to try it.You should definitely support this small business if youre in the area and dont have much to spend. It is the best ice cream within 500 miles and I can say that because I live in Richmond, VA...I am a Barberton girl at heart and want Durbins as soon as the plane lands.

I have been coming to this place for years and I love it! Only issue I have is that they do not accept debit/credit cards here. I rarely have cash on hand which makes it somewhat inconvenient to eat here over other places.

Awesome little place frozen in time. Same great ice cream and service I remember from my childhood. There is outdoor seating and social distancing was not a problem when I was there with my family. Treat your kids, treat your wife, treat yourself. Stop and grab a tasty treat. Please tip them; the lines can get long, but they work fast!

Saw a stork catch a live bird, murder it in cold blood, and eat it whole. Most dope experience I’ve ever had at a zoo. If you go, check out the stork. Didn’t get to go to the rain forest so will have to go back sometime, but have heard great things. A great place for the whole family or just your friends. Lots of animals. Much nature.The only problem; water was $4 a bottle anywhere and all the drinking fountains were closed. If you didn’t bring water, you’re forced to overpay for a single bottle of water. Eels also didn’t have any batteries in the water, hope it is still okay.

Prices go up while quality and quantity go down. More times than not, Im handed a cup that has more than an inch of empty space. The customer service sucks. Instead of simply fixing an error (and they almost always make my order wrong), the entire crew has to be involved and then you get attitude for asking them to correct the error. The owner is just as bad. Used to be a regular customer. Every time I try to give them another chance Im reminded why I prefer to go anywhere else.

You cant beat this ice cream stand! It was the first ice cream of the season and I couldnt be happier! I am never let down by their ice cream! They are also extremely reasonably priced! I guess the only downfall is that they only accept cash. Not a type of thing that would bring my review down at all! The staff is extremely friendly and I will always go back, I will just make sure I go back with cash in hand!

Made the 30+ minute drive today to try the homemade hot fudge... it was good, but nothing crazy.The staff was incredibly welcoming, patient, and friendly!!Where Durbin misses the beat is in its flavors:The vanilla didn’t have a strong vanilla flavor, more like plain milk.I got pina colada custard and it was PINK. A pink pina colada?? I 100% thought it was strawberry when I got it, and told the staff I was supposed to get pina colada and they responded “that is pina colada”. Awkward! Absolutely NO pineapple flavor. My mom said she tasted coconut, but I wasn’t even sold on that. Thank goodness they have VERY CHEAP PRICES so I didn’t feel that bad throwing my cone away. Maybe I should have sampled first, but wow not at all what I wanted or was expecting. Maybe watch how you label your flavors? @ DurbinAgain, I was wonderfully impressed with the low prices! Muuuuuch better than the $5 a cone places in other towns.Overall, I would like to give them another try if I’m ever in the area, but I would not drive 35 minutes again.That being said - if you’re reading this, please give this small local business your support! Amazing ice cream cake! Not only do their cakes have way more delicious fudge-cookie filling, but they have some fun/dorky print designs to add on the top. Also, their vanilla and chocolate soft serve ice cream tastes better than DQ. They did a great job customizing the birthday cake. I added some of the extra toppings/decor, and extra PB cups, but they did exactly what I asked for. The price was more than fair as well. Well no longer be using DQ for ice cream cakes moving forward.P.S. their custard ice cream was also wonderful.

Best ice cream by far in the Barberton and Norton Area. Everything about this experience is a pleasure for our family, and should be a staple stop for your families as well. Prices are amazing too! So many flavors is the cherry on top for sure. A must stop every summer or when you need a cold sweet treat.

Was hoping to enjoy a blueberry milkshake just to find a vanilla shake with barely any actual blueberries in it which doesnt taste very blueberry at all I feel like they could of atleast told me thats what was up before wasting my money...so much for my pregnancy cravings ...baby was not happy.

Great quality and vibe. the only things that sucks is i never get what I ask for. Ie today instead of a cakebatter (milkshake) with kitkat like I asked for I got birthday cake hard ice cream with a handful of kitkats on top so I didnt realize I got the wrong flavor until I went to eat it. 🙄 I know its a trivial thing lol but I detest birthday cake ice cream lol edit they loaded this thing with kitkats and my kiddos are stoked they get extra ice cream so I guess its a win lol

Ive been taking my family to Durbins for almost 40 years. Best ice cream and treats in the country. Just like Barberton chicken, you can taste the old school family pride in their recipe. My grand daughters absolutely love Durbins Magic Freeze!!

The Durbin Freeze in Barberton is a magical pit stop for a tasty treat. We love stopping here for a reasonable priced item for entire team after a game. Big servings, we love it!

Never been here before, but was on a roadtrip with my family and got in touch with an old Marine Corps buddy who I hadnt seen in 34 years and he recommended that we meet here. I had the blueberry custard! It was delicious!

Seems like they are cutting cost by using cheaper ingredients got the root beer float tasting like flat pop food club pop. Only bright spot there is the take home hot fudge.

I just had a vanilla shake, and it was wonderful. Sweeter than most places, with a nice vanilla flavor. Thick enough to be a good shake, but you could still get it through the straw without turning your face inside-out. Good stuff.Theyre cash-only, so hit the ATM on the way there if all you have is plastic.
