Cool coffee shop with great options for coffee/tea lovers. Simple menu to satisfy your breakfast needs. I ordered a Cortado which was made perfectly. Croissant and bagel sandwiches are delicious and made to order super quick. Indoor dining area could use a quick cleaning. Outdoor dining would benefit greatly from heating lamps as the weather is wicked cold. Clean and well stocked unisex restroom. Outdated flyers on community board, should really showcase current local info!
Very busy spot, highly recommended. Did not disappoint. Wide variety on the menu. Many great options for kids. Try something new and be brave. Delicious banana nut chocolate chip bread and many other muffin options. Tables inside and out. Located just outside of the busiest part of Bar harbor downtown so you can usually make it here without hitting too much traffic, but on peak times it will get a little congested. Parking available out front. Unfortunately their printers went down so they lost our order and the line got to be about 12 people long, but the employees seem to be doing what they could. It was just a struggle.
I had the Blueberry Lemonade which was perfectly sweet and tart. It was very good. They were very busy and the drink took a minute. Later I also had an iced Maple Oat Latte, it was so delicious. Its made with Maine Maple Syrup. I definitely recommend you stopping by this little shop to get a pick me up, refreshing drink, or if you need a place to lounge.
The choco-latte signature latte is definitely worth a try! Their bagels and veggie cream cheese are also stellar. I definitely enjoyed their homemade banana truffle too. Highly recommend a stop to this place!
Do not miss this amazing indie spot in Bar Harbor. The Mexican Hot Chocolate (regular and spicy varieties) are killer! And my wife and I were blown away by the tacos we got! Her pork belly were so crispy and flavorful, and my carnitas were so juicy and delicious. We both just wanted more. Highly recommend this place. From the friendly staff to the amazing beverages and food, its something to come back to over and over.
Stopped in here for a quick breakfast before a tour. Got the Chocolatte and a bagel breakfast sandwich and everything was delicious! Latte had great chocolate flavor without being overly sweet and the bagel was crispy/salty/chewy delicious and quite large as well! Food and drinks came out relatively quickly and though there was a line when we went in, it moved fast. There is a decent amount of seating inside and a few tables outside as well! Some parking out front, but its an easy to walk to location from the main drag. Highly recommend!
My only complaint is that I had to sit next to a recycle bin that was filthy and the table was also so dirty I was getting dirt off of it. The owner needs to keep up with cleaning the place. Pictures on walls had a coating of dust on them . The doors need to be cleaned as they are filled with scuff marks . When I see lack of attention to cleanliness in the front of the store makes me wonder how clean it is in the back where food is prepared. Food was excellent and coffee delicious
My favorite local place for strong morning coffee or an early afternoon lunch!! Great prices, delicious food... Best place for a bagel in Bar Harbor!! Tacos are also fantastic!! Open all year round 😎
Had the chai with oat milk and cardamom syrup. Awful! The first one they made me was extremely bland tasted just like steamed milk. I had them remade it and she said that she sampled it herself and said that it was spicy enough. The second one they made tasted like they didnt steep the tea long enough. Again, very bland. This is definitely not a house blend I saw her make it and its just your basic tea bag. Skip this place unless you want to pay $7 for mediocre drinks. Photos to show the inconsistency between the same drink.
First time that Ive had time to visit them all season and I enjoyed my visit. Purchased a nice sticker, an iced oat chai, and a macadamia cookie. All delicious.
Went here twice over my week trip to the Bar Harbor area, loved it both times. Their namesake, the Choco-latte, is indeed very delicious! A few of my group hang out here and used the wifi for a while, since our accommodations had none. We all enjoyed the place. We would have fit in a third visit if we had time! Both indoor and outdoor seating available.
This place is very good!! The prices are accessible and the service is quick and efficient. I love, love, love, that I can order online and our breakfast is ready for us to grab and go. Very convenient if you want to start exploring right away!!
The coffee was fantastic. Most places over sweeten their coffee, not here. They have many different non dairy options too. However they can be on the pricey side.It is a relaxed atmosphere and the smell of the pastries are sure to please. Definitely give this place a chance 😁
My experience at Choco-Latte was simply fantastic. I visited in 2020-03 just before the tourist season opens. I definitely recommend this local coffee and breakfast cafe; they are open year-round.The local townsfolk were all so friendly and Choco-Latte was key in this experience. The staff and owner were super patient and happy to review the menu items with us. We were so delighted with the experience that we became regulars for the duration of our vacation. The food and drink were each served to perfection. The breakfast sandwiches were served on a variety of bagels, with real eggs and bacon and much more. The cafe has a strong focus for reusable and recyclable resources, making it fantastically earth friendly.
Probably the best coffee I had since driving from Portland. The third wave scene is struggling it seems between Portland and bar harbor. Or the good shops evaded me. This place was refreshing. Great cortado and my wife had the iced mocha latte and it was a step above the other places we visited. Only minus one star because it was way hotter inside the shop than outside lol
Walked into a very pleasant café area and the staff were very polite and fast. Ordered a Coffee and a bagel and both were exceptional. Definitely the spot for a quick bite and a nice coffee. Will come back 👍.
Love this place. Great for working while traveling - relaxed vibe. The chocolatte drink was delicious - food was good -if I lived her I would go here all the time.
Absolutely DELICIOUS avocado toast!! I was going to take a photo of it for Google Maps but I couldn’t stop eating it!! We got take out (3 meals) and it was ready in half the expected 20 mins. The staff were very nice, and pickup counter was clearly marked. Our name and order on the bag was big and bold, making it a piece of cake to find. When you place the order, you get a nice and concise email. I can’t wait until tomorrow morning so I can order from here again. The interior was lovely, I’d definitely eat there. This place has the added bonus of being near many hotels. It is a very short walk from the Bar Harbor Villager Hotel.
Good food, good coffee, fast service. Really all I can complain about is that frequently they sell out of some of the menu items, which is a good problem to have but can be annoying..
My wife and I stopped in for a quick coffee and I was pleasantly surprised by their Cuban! If you like great espresso, this place has it!
Best espresso drinks in town. And the bagels are delicious! Cant wait to try tacos.Even while busy, owners were able to respond to an issue (over ripe avocado). They are professional, and care about their customers. Not something you can say about chain stores.
Delicious breakfast sandwiches!! Im so glad we found this place on our trip to Acadia. You order online and within 15ish minutes you can pick it up from the store. I got the croissant with cheddar and chorizo with extra egg, tomato, and avocado, and it was BOMB! Stayed warm throughout our drive to the trailhead for the day, too. They have plenty of other breakfast options, and very customizable breakfast sandwiches, would come back again!
We loved this little place! Quickly became our go to breakfast spot before hikes. Iced lattes were excellent! Homemade bagels were a must! Staff was very friendly and kind. Would love to have indoor seating but understand the circumstances! Hope to see you soon!
Absolutely delicious breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito found here! We grabbed both as a mid-hike snack and it gave us the boost of energy we needed to finish the trail. The choco-latte was also the perfect start to my morning with a nice kick of spice at the end. Highly recommend ordering ahead for pickup to avoid waiting in line.
Three of us ordered two Mexican hot chocolates and a spicy mex hot chocolate, and we were really disappointed. It was very watered down and tasteless. Sort of just tasted like watery instant hot chocolate. Also pretty expensive just for an 8oz cup. Also took about 10 minutes to get, but it was pretty busy.
First, I hate coffee and coffee drinks. Second, their signature drink was so lovely and delicious that I think I could do a coffee drink moving forward- I’m not if it’s the iced Choco Latte. Never will I drink another coffee drink that will even compete with this drink. It was chocolatey, it had cinnamon and nutmeg you could taste that was a sensational amount, and I couldn’t taste much if any coffee. So thank you Choco-latte for making an amazing and unique drink that even coffee haters would enjoy!
Delicious coffee drinks and friendly service in downtown Bar Harbor. Highly recommend the classic Choco-latte!
We love this coffee shop! Their namesake beverage is the best. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and quality food and drink.
Coffee and espresso were good. Did not like the breakfast sandwich, was too dry and the bagel just wasnt good.
Loved our lattes from Choco-Latte! Definitely the best coffee we had while in Bar Harbor. Well prepared and inventive flavors. Loved the signature choco latte, as well as the cafe de olla. Not overly sweet which I appreciated.
I went here 2 times during my visit to Bar Harbor. The first time I ordered their namesake drink and it was extremely disappointing- it was very unevenly blended, so it was full of clumps of spices. Besides that, I didnt care for the taste- but I dont fault the restaurant for that, it just wasnt for me. I had to wait about 10 minutes for this single coffee. On the other hand, the oatmeal raisin cookie was very good. For my second visit I got a maple oatmilk latte- I got this one far faster and I enjoyed it much more than the first. Overall I think its worth stopping here, its pretty cheap, but I wont be clamoring to return.
Signature Choco-Latte was over the moon! Avocado toast was quite good. Breakfast burrito and desserts were meh--. Cute little place.
If I could give less than one star I would. It wasnt the coffee that was bad, it was the people. The staff behind the counter on Thursday were some of the rudest Ive ever met. Not only did they ignore people who were telling them to have a good day, but they were also glaring at everyone who ordered a coffee. I don’t care if you dont like your job, it doesnt mean you can take it out on the people who are spending money and keeping the place open. If they continue to employ rude staff I would not be surprised if they go out of business within a year.
Staff were very friendly. I had an avocado quesadilla and their Mexican hot chocolate. Everything was great!
Best coffee on the island. Hot, cold, everything we tasted. Great way to refresh after a long hike!
Excellent coffee (the Cafe de Olla) but partially cooked muffin i.e. raw batter. 5 stars for coffee, 1 for muffin. Id give them another try.Update: had the Maple Oat latte & the breakfast burrito both were excellent. Check this place out!
Came for the Coffee! Had their special mocha latte with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger!
Great little coffee shop with good wifi. I had class during my trip to bar Harbor and it wasnt too bad. However it can get echo-ey and loud at times so you just got to keep that in mind.
Fantastic coffee. Wish they opened earlier, especially for the half-marathon crowd.
We randomly stopped in one afternoon because it was one of the few places open near us that had a quick bite to eat. We got a chicken quesadilla and a blueberry lemonade. We didnt quite enjoy the chicken in the quesadilla but Im not going to downrate a chocolate/ coffee shop for a random quesadilla! Next time we would just get a cheese quesadilla. However, the blueberry lemonade was ABSOLUTELY delicious. It was tart and refreshing. We tried to come back again for another lemonade, but their hours never worked with our schedule.
The choco-latte was very good. Breakfast sandwiches are good also. Very busy and slow getting food.
Coffee was great. Service was fast. Bathrooms clean.
Had breakfast sandwich for 3 mornings. So good!
Great ice chococino but pretty slow speed. I was in a rush to meet the time for my street parking but one drink took me >10min of waiting on a laid-back hours. Served with any apologies or excuse. If that’s their hippie vibe, it is what it is, though.
Good coffee with a nice variety. Was there at 7:30 and not all breakfast sandwiches were available yet but it wasnt too crowded.
Delicious food and hot chocolate drinks. Fast friendly service. There was an error in my order, I pointed it out, and they corrected it quickly.
Enjoyed both their beef and pork tacos. Strawberry salad was enjoyed twice by my partner.
Their specialty drink, chocolatte is indescribably delicious! In fact, all if their coffees and teas are some of the best Ive had. Breakfast sandwiches, scones, bagels are fantastic....and they also make chocolates and truffles. Five+ stars!
Great drinks and delicious breakfast sandwiches.
The famous choco latte was worth it. Best ordered hot
The food was good and so was the coffee the first time I went and although they are slow I decided to return. Customer service the second time was the worst. The unpleasant cashier walked away three times while ordering one coffee and a sandwich. They are really slow and if you say anything about it they get defensive and treat you bad for making any comment about it. When I explained my order was wrong and I was willing to pay the difference to fix it they focused on how I didn’t have the audacity to say they got my order wrong and furthermore they were offended when I asked to not make me wait another 10-15 minutes in the cold.
Solid coffee and a great breakfast burrito that could contend with a food truck. Probably the best value breakfast on the island.
Amazing, so delicious and fast while still being super friendly. Everything a cafe should be.
The shop was crowded when we got there but thinned out quickly. The cafe mocha was good and the muffins were excellent.
I found this place to be a pleasant stop each morning when we were visiting Bar Harbor. I know we will go back on our next visit.
29 minutes for 2 choco-lattes (ordered at 3:30pm) with one order ahead. They were warm enough to take full gulps. Management/owners need to do better.
Awesome everything hereLove the Bagel sandwiches, muffins, and coffee!
Very good coffee and friendly staff. One of the few coffee shops that stay open later
Best bagel I’ve ever had and really good price, coffee was excellent as well
Poor customer service. Rude employees, go somewhere else.
Bomb coffee, but be prepared for long lines in the busy season. They work through them fairly quickly though!
This seems like a decent coffee shop but after a few visits, I can say I am not a fan of whatever coffee theyre serving here.Ive stopper here on a few occasions when in town and every time, year after year the coffee is terrible.
Excellent breakfast sandwich. Funky artwork inside.
Good food and breakfast sandwiches with some great cold brewed coffee
Had some great coffee here. The Nitro (when available) was great. Also the Coffee Dela Casa- Mocha+Choco-Latte were extremely tasty especially Iced
Really good tacos. Birria! Yum.Great for a quick lunch in Bar Harbor.
Great little place with really good lattes. Staff is friendly and the bagels are good.
Choco-Latte used to be a great place, loved by COA students and tourists alike. However this year, their service has been slowly declining. My coworkers and I, who used to frequent this place, noticed that our food was served cold, that our coffee and matchas werent stirred anymore, and that the employees were less friendly and would stand around talking to each other as opposed to making our orders. Because we dont like being late to work, my coworkers and I have stopped going to Choco-Latte. I would love to give them another chance to give me better service (and a matcha that doesnt taste like straight up milk) but I dont see that happening any time soon.
A gem of a coffee shop. Traveling throughout New England leaves city folk with a lot to be desired luckily this Choco-Latte exists. Made it a point to stop in at least once a day for latte fix (they have wonderful non-dairy options). Prices are similar to any big city coffee shop (think NYC, San Fran, LA etc...) not your local bodega or DD.
Pretty nice place to relax with a coffee. Nice people.
Its a really neat cafe good coffee Ill totally go back while Im here.
Probably the best bagel Ive ever had.
Good coffee, reasonable prices. Wifi, bathroom, many milk options, Mandelorian painting
Love the spiced flavored coffee! Maple oak latte is great too!
Try the Choco-latte. You will not be disappointed! :)
Great service, great food, great coffee and always reliable! Walk up service only right now due to covid, which is great. Im just glad they are still open during these times.
I went to Choco-Latte twice on my stay in the area and had a great experience both times! I got the Choco-latte both times because it was so good and a breakfast sandwich. Both women who helped me were super friendly and service was quick. Highly recommend if you’re in the need for coffee or a treat. Thanks Choco-Latte!
This is a cool little coffee house with a good selection of drinks and baked goods. I had some tea and some delicious chocolate chip pumpkin bread. There were signs that mentioned inhouse baked bagels but I was too late for those. Seemed like a diverse crowd of people hanging out here which made it more interesting than a Starbucks.
