I absolutely am in love with this neighborhood wine spot. Nice to buy and take home, or enjoy their indoor (or outdoor) seating space. Great service and nice choices for wine, liquor and beer. Next door to a restaurant if you get hungry. A jewel in the area, truly.

I travel, on a weekly basis from Accokeek, Maryland (Near the National Harbor) just to experience the charm and down home feel of the Spirits of Mt. Vernon. It is the closest thing to the old TV Series Cheers. You can sample their large but not overwhelming selection of various wines from around the world, as well as other liquors. While there you could listen to live music and meet new friends.They know your name and after one visit if you know your wine they know you. The owner greets me with a smile a warm hello and before I take 2 steps into the store she lets me know if the wine I get is in stock. If it isnt (very popular) she lets me know exactly when it will be in and offers me a comparable wine. They know their wines and they have never been wrong with the recommendations. You are always welcomed.

The wine selection is amazing as well as the spirits. The staff is very knowledgeable. It’s a neighborhood hub. If you are in the neighborhood stop in and have a drink or just pull up a a chair and talk. Everyone is always welcoming.

Honestly one of the nicest places ive been to. The staff is both knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The decor is lovely with beautiful wood accents and reclaimed wine boxes seamlessly integrated into the counter. They truly bring the winery feel into the city with a great selection and atmosphere. Oh gosh, how can I explain what a relief it was to go to this place and meet an amazing staff to have a glass of wine with!!! My best friend of 33 years met me in Baltimore to help take care of my niece with me. This was our little getaway!!! We loved the wine but more so the staff. Martin and lula!!! Our favorites! Absolutely loved this establishment. The wonderful company of Victoria Schassler and the lovely Mr. Bear is one that is simply amicable and warm. Plus with the wonderful wine selections and comfortable ambiance surrounding the store, there’s no way you can’t come back for more! I love coming here! Everyone who works here is so incredible and accommodating. It’s a very safe and welcoming place for me to bring my dog Mo. There’s super fun live music on Friday nights (and wonderful bartenders Brian and Eric who work on Friday’s too!). I would definitely recommend coming to share a bottle with friends after work! If I could give 6 stars I would!!!

I love this store! It is very friendly, cozy and Vicki has a fantastic selection of local beers, wines from around the world and craft spirits. The bar is brand new and ready for use once Baltimore City gets their act together. When you come by, please make sure you say HI to Bear.

A rare rare gem with many wonderful facets. I am not a reviewer typically, and normally only do if a business is either exceptional or terrible and this place earns 5 stars. I’ve been coming to Spirits of Mt Vernon since it opened. Previously it was a run down multipurpose pharmacy, liquor and junk store of odds and ends and lottery. It’s become a beautiful and comfortable neighborhood gem, welcoming to all - with a superb offering of consistently very good to excellent wines and spirits. I stopped in today not because I necessarily needed something, but because I wanted to say hello. What was to be a 5 minute visit lasted an hour of wonderful conversation, a taste of a new Rose that I was glad to be introduced to and a nice way to round out the end of a very hot day. Ms Vicky the proprietor has a an amazing talent and keen sense for wine - both what one typically is accustomed to but also helping one make new discoveries. From needing several bottles to take for a dinner party or just to have at home with friends, I’ve never been disappointed or steered wrong by Vicky or her teams’ choices for me. Thank you. Separate from wines for a party or spirits at home, what I’ve really come to love about this place is the soulful caring spirit and fun of everyone that comes through it’s doors. Whether it’s a wine tasting or evening Live music bringing not only Mt Vernon but residents of other hoods here - the place is comforting, fun and welcoming always - and service consistently spot on. Pre-pandemic I loved going here for the Friday evening music, I still like to pop in every now and then for a bottle of wine. The staff is incredibly helpful in making selections and the atmosphere is very welcoming!

This is a unique treasure of a wine bar in the center of Baltimore. All who enter are greeted warmly. The environment is conducive for friendly conversation accompanied by a glass of your favorite vintage, or take a fine bottle home. Enjoy.

Cannot say enough good things about the shop, very nice selection at very fair prices. I felt very taken care of and had absolutely amazing customer service! We will be using this store as our main shop for wine and spirits going forward. They are planning on have live music and events in the shop once the pandemic is passed, which we are also planning on attending.

Cute little store, very COVID safe, and really reasonable prices!

Awesome store. The owner is very kind and laid back and will help you with whatever you need + are looking for.In fact, I accidentally broke my friends wine glass and swung by asking if they were selling any individual wine glasses to replace the one I shattered. The owner was so kind as to give me an ikea wine glass for free!And then of course, I managed to break that one too!!! So then, I went back, and after some explanation she was so kind as to give me another one! I wish I could bring Mt. Vernon Liquors everywhere I go with me but unfortunately I am leaving in June. Will miss such a nice friendly professional store such as them.

Spirits is such a staple of the neighborhood! We love the owners, their dog Bear, and the fantastic wine selection! We also like to go here for fancy liquors and to explore their new craft beers. It’s a lovely, welcoming place that often has live music and happy hours. If you’re in Mount Vernon, definitely stop by!

Very cool little wine shop

Vicki is AMAZING, we had a magical experience here this past weekend! We walked in and a woman was playing the in-shop piano gorgeously and completely spontaneously, come to find out. Vicki was so nice and knowledgeable, offering to open a bottle of Chardonnay for me to have a glass. Several of the neighborhood regulars came in while we were visiting and we had amazing conversation with them, just all around CHARMING!

This is an amazing place. The atmosphere is wonderful music is great. Customer service is awesome. My rating of this establishment is 5.

Grabbed a couple glasses to sit outside at their tables and had a great dinner that we picked up at Dee@Thai. Will definitely come back to drink some more wine and get a couple bottles to go

Found this wonderful shop the first day I moved to Baltimore. Was made to feel right at home the minute I walked in. Vicki introduced herself and me to the others in the shop who welcomed me to the neighborhood. Made tons of good friends that night and make new ones each week at the Friday night tastings. This place is truly awesome - the wine selection rocks too!

They h have an awesome open atmosphere which encourages random conversations. They have a small but well curated selection of wine and spirits are a decent price. If youre in the neighborhood this is a great place to grab a bottle after work with some friends, you can pop it open right there and chill.

What an incredible find! I came across this store during a business trip to Baltimore. I told the staff what kind of wine I wanted, and they instantly knew which bottles to suggest. The atmosphere is very appealing, staff is very friendly and approachable, location is great, and the wine selection was excellent. My only negative comment is that they close kind of early. If I lived in Baltimore, I would visit this business very frequently!
