My air-conditioning unit broke down just prior to the heat of summer. Due to the age of my system I decided to replace the gas furnace as well. I reached out to Griffith and within a day, a gentleman named Chris was at my house to get specs for a new system. Chris was very timely, thorough, and professional in every respect. When it came time for installation, Chris met two technicians at my house, Zane and Christian, and made sure they had everything needed to complete the install. Zane and Christian took it from there. Similar to Chris, Zane and Christian were true professionals. They were very polite and their work was clean and efficient. Overall, the level of service from beginning to end was nothing short of exceptional. Its been several days since install and the new system performs flawlessly. I highly recommend Griffith to anyone in need of anything heating and air-conditioning.

Malcolm Rogers tuned up our extremely old oil-fired boiler that other technicians were not able to service. He also discovered a back-draft from our chimney that was funneling toxic air into our basement, and he notified us immediately. We are very grateful for the service provided. Corey Robinson did a great job checking both our air conditioning and heating units. We had asked for someone who could do both on one visit. He arrived on time, briefed us on what he would be doing and got to work. As he finished each system he gave us a brief status report and when both were finished, asked us if we had any questions. Mr. Robinson represented Griffith as one hopes all service staff in all businesses might. Service to maintain the furnace at Moms house left the filter shown in the photo in the furnace. Griffith tech explained he didnt carry product and the existing filter was okay. It was not. I changed the filter using the new filter that was sitting right on the duct work. I guess he didnt see it?

I was not sure of just what I needed to put my furnace in working order, as it was puffing smoke and stopped running - no hot water for 2 days. I saw your ad on the net along side other oil companies that would not help even though I was a customer. I called and was given a service date. Michelle B. HAS to be the BEST person to work with when getting an issue resolved. Heres the story.I bought my first home and just moved in at the end of November with very little experience in dealing with baseboard heating. Naturally, my tank ran out of oil the end of last week and I didnt have any other way to heat the house other than a couple of small plug-in space heaters. Michelle took my first and last call, along with many in between. When I explained my situation to her, she apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a ton of tips in regards to my heating situation. Since my lack of heat from Friday up until Tuesday, she called every day to check in and make sure that I had an account with my home, that I signed a price protection agreement on time, to make sure the service technician came to initially check out the situation with snow on the way, AND just to check on me FIRST THING Wednesday morning to see if I had heat in my home at the end of this whole mess. After a little assistance and a truck full of oil, I was able to prime and start my furnace by myself - what?! Im a technician of sorts, but Im no expert when it comes to heating systems and the like.I have never had anyone at any service corporation of any kind go out of their way to check on me and help me through my situation the way Michelle did. Im proud to say that Griffith will be my energy service company for as long as I have my house. Thank you SOOOO much, Michelle!!

We just turned on our second floor unit this past weekend since it was hot. Noticed the fan wasnt turning on and no cold air was coming out. Called Griffith Saturday night and spoke to Linda. Linda was very nice and responsive and scheduled a technician to come first thing Sunday morning. Our technician, Josh, called when he was on his way and was there first thing Sunday morning as promised. He was very nice and respectful and also informative during the whole process. He was able to get our unit up and running, just a minor glitch. He even checked back after he left to see how things were. Linda at the office did as well. Excellent service from them both! My boiler stopped firing during a cold snap. The technician, Malcolm Rogers, came out on a Saturday and was very thorough in isolating the electrical problem with my aquastat. He hunted down the right part and installed it, bringing back the heat for the first time in two days. Thank you!

We had a scheduled visit with a Griffith technician to perform yearly maintenance on our furnace, air conditioning unit and heat pump. It was quick and we hope efficient. We wanted the usual paperwork confirming the visit and what was done. The technician said he did not have an operational computer/printer in his truck and would email the paperwork to us. We provided our email address but have not received anything yet.

This company has gone down hill ... bought a new HVAC & hot water heater from them 15-years, ago ... needed a new hot water heater ... saw a small water puddle on the unfinished basement floor beneath the valve and had concern about the basement getting flooded. Guy came out, as scheduled, then told me I needed to contacted some one else in the office for scheduling the purchase and installation ... left 3 messages 3 different times and no one returned my call ... lousy service for a return customer ... used BGE Home, instead, for first time; they were great!After Griffith read our review, then they contacted us with an email address identifying their company point-of-contact. They claim there was a breakdown in communication. Leaving 3 voicemail messages {(2 of which were conveyed to a company person who transferred us to another contact)} and getting no response from this company to a consumer concerned about a hot water heater that could leak at any time is much more than a breakdown in communication, it shows a lack of respect of our time as a consumer, a lack of concern about a likely problem and POOR SERVICE, plain and simple.

Last week by coincidence the technician that came to perform the yearly checkup on my furnace and the oil delivery man arrived at my home approximately the same time. They each performed their services with no impact or inconvenience to me. I have been a customer of Griffith for a couple of years and have no complaints. I usually get the same lady (sorry I do not know her name) on the phone when I call. She is very professional and it is a pleasure dealing with her. I would highly recommend Griffith Energy Services to anyone that I know.

We are long time customers of Griffith with an oil fired furnace and water heater. We have a service contract with them to come and maintain the furnace twice a year. Recently the AC connected to the furnace leaked all its coolant and quit working. I got an estimate for replacing the AC and the salesman recommended replacing the furnace as it was old and we could save a lot by replacing them both at the same time. When the installation crew installed the new equipment they totally botched the job.1. They didnt connect the flue vent on the side with the chimney, just left it open. If we had happened to turn on the furnace the house would have filled with Carbon Monoxide and caused a very dangerous situation.2. They wired the unit incorrectly so that the fan was not blowing at the correct speed when the AC was on.3. They failed to install a Blocked Vent Shut-off safety switch on the flue, probably because, well, they didnt install the flue in the first place.4. They didnt turn the oil valve back on at the tank, we found that out when the water heater wouldnt work. Error number 4 probably saved them from us possibly gassing ourselves due to error 1.5. The access door to the blower to the new furnace is badly bashed in.6. The crew just up and left; didnt tell us they were leaving, didnt tell us they needed to come back and fix the flue or turn on the oil, didnt warn us that we shouldnt use the furnace, etc.Im pretty sure the original crew were subcontractors. Since all of this happened Griffith personnel have had to return to the house 4 times to finish the job and to try to get the water heater to work properly. Steve the installation manager made the repairs and was very prompt, pleasant and knowledgeable. However our water heater triggers its circuit breaker on a regular basis now (every other day) leaving us without hot water. I know it is old and needs replacing. I asked Griffith for an estimate on replacing it. I also have asked to speak to the Service Manager (Dave N.) and left several messages over the last week for him to call me to talk about some sort of break on the water heater price after all thats happened, but no response. The new HVAC as not cheap and the new water heater wont be either. Im considering using another vendor for the new water heater. Im leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because Steve, the other service guys that come to the house and the ladies on the phone are prompt and professional.Rick R.

Service team was not able to be here at the designated time, but they did let us know which was appreciated. So we werent at the house during the service (they entered through the basement) but they did everything we needed.Just wish we could have been here during the servicing. Perhaps next time.

If I could give zero stars I doggone would. We scheduled an appointment with Griffith for 8-11 am for new service and a water heater. I ended up having to take the day off at a personal cost of over $200 because they never showed. My wife called twice and got the run around. I then called and had to talk to four people before being transferred to someone to find the “technician”. I was then sent to voicemail while on hold for 20 minutes. Doggone unreliable.

Twice in a week they promised delivery and never showed up and never called. Had to keep calling them. Worst service ever. I was out of oil, temps below freezing and they tell to buy a gas can, get some diesel and put it in myself 5 gallons at a time. Seriously??? I have a contract for automatic delivery. Their ad says reliable and 100% customer satisfaction. NOT TRUE!!! Avoid these guys.

I had a technician out to look at my AC unit, it took 10-15 min to figure out that I need a Freon charge. The technician said with how low the coolant was, there is a high probability that I have a large leak. Within two days I had a sales representative out to give me an estimate on a new unit since my current unit is so old. Really nice people to work with!

We have used Griffith Energy Services for 14 or 15 years now (chosen merely because we had a dog of almost the same name - Griffin.) Fortunately, it was a wise choice. There are very responsive if there is a problem with your furnace and they seem to magically know when youre getting low on oil. They will also set up a payment plan so that youre not socked with huge oil bills in the winter months. Finally, they can get you into your own private day (with other Griffith customers) at Hershey Park for a much lower amount. Definitely recommend them!

An appointment was scheduled 2 days ago for service on central air conditioning. The tech was out and said that the problem was beyond his abilities. He called the office and informed me that his team leader would be out. I asked a time frame, and was told around 2. Its now after 8pm and I havent heard from them and they have not been out. This was my one day off this week and it was wasted waiting for someone not to show up. Unacceptable!

I called for my oil unit to be cleaned and they said I had to wait several months, but that was too long . I said that I would like to cancel my service contract so I could switch to another company and the supervisor promised me on the phone that I would get a prorated return on my fees. However, when I followed up they refused to give me the refund. They were bought out by a bigger company along with Pipco and others and now their service is awful.

We have been customers of Griffith for 20 years. We purchased a plan that enables us to have an annual physical of our furnace, automatic oil delivery and because we purchased our new furnace through Griffith, free service calls when there are issues. When I call them, I get a real person which I appreciate as a basic customer service. Recently, we had a fuel oil smell that was overwhelming. I called before 9 am and by 2 pm a Griffith person was here and the problem was fixed. The Griffith technician explained to us what the problem was, what he did to fix it, and what we should look for if other issues arise. The whole episode was handled within 6 hours. I have found Griffith to be a knowledgeable company with staff who have expertise in heating and who focus on customer service.. I highly recommend them.

Griffith has left me in the cold for a whole week with no oli. It is way to cold to not have any heat! I ordered 150 gallons and It took 4 days to have someone come out to inspect the tank, and was told I would get oil the next day. Next day came, no oil. Called back the following day, they had no record of an order for oil? insted of putting me on the top of the list for oil deliveries due to their mistake, they informed me it would be another week before I would get a delivery.

Company does not seem to want to serve new customers in 21225 area fyi see update below...Update company finally called today at 5pm was scheduled 8am/12 for just a tank inspection. Lady said sorry did not come because did not know what pipe to replace??? Mind you have have called 3 times in 2 days to confirm the inspection. They told me this morning they would call when coming. I pay for the Griffith service contract that promises emergency service for no heat. However, tonight when I called, I was told they were too busy and that I would have to wait for the morning crew. I don’t understand what I am paying for at this point. Griffith also has failed to service my furnace for the past 6 months because they said they are too busy. Time to find a new oil/furnace company.
