Mr Fred is awesome. Super inviting with his attitude. I could go back and spend hours there either talking to Fred or looking around. One day i hope i have a friend like mr Fred. Thank you so much for the little time you gave us. Good luck and all the best. A LOT OF BOOKS. You can find everything here. Definitely a must see if you are in to antiques and books if you are in Baltimore.

When in today to buy a few books and other articles for a nice Christmas present, while there I try to get assistance called to owner 4 time ( he was just half a feet away for me ) not once did he turn around to ask what I needed or anything until I walked to the front of his desk, same thing once I wanted to pay, lady saw me but did not even bother with my present, if you didnt want to make a sell i would have perfectly understand and just not waste my time, If you are a non white dont even bother going in, their are plenty of other stores with equally beautiful pieces.

Amazing book store. The store may be overwhelming at first but once you realize the store is organized into sections for each genre of books, it becomes a wonderful experience to look through.

The owner was both kind & inviting. Unfortunately, this antique store had just closed when reaching it. She gladly opened it so that I could browse. How many business owners would do that? Not many. I was pleasantly surprised that she was so welcoming. I had previously ventured into several other book stores in the area. This store was by far, the largest in offering more selection of both antiques & books. Cant wait to return & immerse myself in the past.

The name itself means a lot, have been here by a friends request and I would thank her for introducing this place. Though this place looks bit squeezed, there is a lot in this store. You can find thousands of book collection of all genres. I would stop by more often until I find another interesting store.

I was out going from store to store on this row with my father, and a colloquial term we have for an antique store like this one is a junk store because we like cool junk, not antiques. As we entered this store my father noticed the adjoining antique store, and announced Hey, theres a junk store next door to which I replied, Next to the book store next door and evidently the man working as cashier for the bookstore found our use of the word junk to be insulting, and I felt very attacked when he made this clear to me. He said that this was all antiques and not junk, and was not accepting my explanation that we use junk as a term for antiques we do not find appealing. He demanded an apology (mind you after my father and I had both apologized, I was more profuse because as I said before I felt very attacked and that I was the target) or that we leave and he does not want our business. I had a bit of an anxiety attack from this, it certainly made my afternoon much worse. I should add we didnt buy anything, much of the stuff was what I thought to be overpriced. I may go back, but be extra cautious in what I say to anyone. two stars because some of the antiques were very interesting, but I was too shaken up to examine anything closer.

I love having a bookstore in the avenue. This neighborhood is a must for it! This shop is quirky, with a sweet owner tending it. Books are pricey, especially for used, but the selection is vast and owner is knowledge. Attached is a vintage shop.
