My check engine light came on and unfortunately my CVT Transmission stopped shifting. I was lucky enough to be able to get it to AAMCO. The service could not have been better. Great communication and great service. I will be using them for any of my future repairs. (and not just for transmissions)

I was unlucky enough to have my Nissan start acting suspicious on the highway. After getting the car to my local mechanic, I was told it was probably transmission and that I would need a specialist. After calling around I was fortunate enough to talk with Stanton at AAMCO. He was in constant communication from the arrival of the car off the tow truck, to the final diagnosis.Stanton gave me a thorough reporting of their diagnostics and assured me that I would need a transmission. Once I got my warranty paperwork together and presented it to him, he took it from there. Fortunately I was covered under my warranty, but unfortunately I wasnt able to get the repair done at their location as it was a manufacturer specific warranty.I have not felt so comfortable in dealing with a very uncomfortable breakdown. I would recommend this AAMCO and specifically Stanton to ANYONE.

Tony Brett and Mike delivered excellent service, going above and beyond what I would have expected. They were totally fair and honest, and were able to repair our car (which had a perfect storm of things take it out!). I couldnt be happier with them and they have won a customer for life.

My car was taken to AAMCO for a leaking transmission and after getting it back, dashboard lights starting turning on for unrelated issues. After doing some additional repairs the car was returned, however dashboard lights reappeared and they were unable to resolve it after multiple attempts.Shortly after while driving the steering assembly on the car completely fell apart requiring a flatbed tow, had this happened at higher speed on a highway this could have resulted in a fatality.The certified dealership mechanics who examined the car afterwards found that AAMCO failed to tighten the bolts to spec and all of the cotter safety pins were missing allowing the steering system to fail. Extensive damage was done to the underside of the car and it is currently not usable.After seeing the extensive damage, my dealership will not recommend AAMCO Ballwin to any of their customers in the future.

I called wanting a quote for a rebuilt/remanufactured transmission and they said they couldnt do that WITHOUT seeing the car. I had it towed in. They called and said the transmission was burnt and it would be $3500 to put another one in. This was approx. $1000-$1500 higher than I was quoted elsewhere. I went in to tow the car somewhere else and asked, Why could you have told me that over the phone before I towed the car in? They didnt even look at the car! It was parked exactly where the tow truck left it and I marked the wheel. All they did was run an ODBII scan which I can do myself. What scan code says Transmission is burnt? What a joke. NOT PROFESSIONAL. NOT HONEST.

Aamco in Ballwin is a great place to get your vehicle fixed. Last year I got a new transmission on my truck and haven’t had any issues since. Today I went to get my window fixed. I truly feel I should share what a nice experience we had with Sean and his staff repairing my Air Force daughters 2013 Subaru Legacy transmission. It was so nice to have someone who really knew what they were doing with this constant velocity transmission, that is very complicated. Sean really worked with the warranty and I I know he really looked out for her in the long run. We were so pleased with the kindness and genuine integrity Ballwin Aamco shared with us.

AAMCO in Ballwin is my go-to for any car fixes. What I love the most about this shop is that they will not try to sell you parts and recommend fixes that you don’t actually need. I went there last fall because my brakes were constantly squealing, even 3 months after having them replaced. I was ready to have to replace them again despite having just installed new ones. They told me that there was no safety issue and that my brakes were fine they just needed some brake cleaner put on them, so they told me to go to O’Reilly’s to buy a $7 bottle of brake cleaner, which I did. Brett and Tony took great care of my car today and I am very thankful to have a car shop that won’t BS me!

Sean was great! He was very prompt with getting me information. They ordered a part for me that did not fit correctly but Sean upgraded the part at no additional cost which is a testament to their business practices, he did not try to call me back and get me to approve a more expensive part - he just took care of me. He told me Welcome to the family when I was leaving which was appropriate because thats how they make you feel.

When you rely heavily on your own transportation it can be a very stressful time when youre having car troubles. I had my transmission replaced a while back and when it seemed to be acting up again I called Sean. He honored the warranty and took care of me the whole way. I was told by another mechanic I was going to need some very expensive work done in a not very convincing way. I heard about these guys from a friend, and I am a complete convert. They have taken care of my car twice now and both times I was done faster than expected and on budget. They are friendly, professional, and most importantly, honest. Just talking to Sean, you know hes going to do his best to help you, and his track record shows hes going to get it done right. Its so refreshing to see a mechanic shop that doesnt try and oversell you or do work that isnt needed.

I had an awesome experience at AAMCO the other day. Sean took wonderful care of me and gave top notch customer service. He was friendly, polite, helpful and made a personal connection with me. It was a terrible experience. I felt like i was discriminated against and taken advantage. They went in to fix a problem without doing their own diagnostic and it ended up needing an entire new transmission that was needed. They refused to give me my money back or even call and apologize.

The guys at AAMCO made the repair process on the transmission for our truck as painless as possible. Sean was very up front and honest with us thru the whole process. What I loved most about my experience with AAMCO is they did exactly what needed to be done to get our truck back on the road as soon as possible. As most people do I did shop around before taking our truck there and a competitor quoted me triple the time and money stating they would have to do a full rebuild without even seeing my truck!! Lucky for us the guys at AAMCO are true professionals and figured out we did not need a full rebuild on our transmission just some seals and bushings. I 100% recommend the guys at AAMCO for car repairs, from now on they are the first and last people I will call to work on my vehicles.

This place has had my work truck for 2 full days and they are still not done! This is warranty work from work they did a few months ago. They told me it should only take 2 hours to fix. Mind you this truck is how I take care of my family and they wont give me a rental truck or even compensate me for my time and lost wages. After getting it back it leaked even more all over my driveway, now I cant use it at all.

The mechanics are highly skilled. They dont find new things but do tell you if they notice something wrong and tell you the level urgency with the repair. Their prices are also the BEST prices around. I Highly recommend this establishment !!!

There are so many amazing things I can say about my experience with Sean and AAMCO. For one communication was excellent- through each step of the way I was not only notified of the status of my car while it was in the shop, but after with a check up to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were EXTREMELY efficient, my car had to have a complete transmission replacement and they got it back to me by the end of the week. My favorite thing about my experience without a doubt though was their transparency and customer service. I am a college student far away from home and having my car break down was stressful to say the least. Sean was kind hearted and understanding, he broke down what was going on with my car into a way I could understand and even offered to speak with my parents in Champaign, IL if it would make me more comfortable. Having a friendly voice on the other end of the phone in such a stressful time was such a relief. I will not only be returning to this location for all of MY car needs (let’s hope it’s not many) but 100% recommend it to whoever is considering giving them their business.

I had the rebuild my transmission and rear end they bought the transmission parts and I bought the rear end parts because I wanted the best parts they lied to me and my brothers face a lot gave me so many excuses. All they do is ripping people of I’m scared to drive my truck it drives worse than ever it feels like it’s gonna fall apart. Everything is leaking makes bad sounds they won’t fix it. They ruined my landscaping company I bought it back to them every 2 weeks I couldn’t even work because my truck was running so bad. Please listen don’t go to them they do the worst work they don’t warranty nothing they just throw a bandage on it and hope it works. Never go there for nothing please they make up excuses for everything all they want is your money they don’t care about your car.

I have brought three of my cars of there and received excellent service all three times. This past week I brought my 2002 Grand Prix in which needed a lot of work done in order to pass inspection. I was on a time crunch because my plates expire at the end of the month but the parts they needed to fix my car were scattered all over the state. These gentlemen went above and beyond and not only got all the parts in a day, but fixed my car in a very timely fashion. If you’re looking an auto shop that you can trust, I HIGHLY recommend going to Ammco. These guys have old school business ethics and they’ve made lifetime customers out me and my entire family!

Brett and his team, were excellent to work with and took the time to explain, in lay person terms, the issues associated with my truck. I never felt pressured as if I was being sold anything that I did not want or need. The total repair time and cost were consistent with what I was initially told. Its rare for a car repair place to be a straight shooter, but these guys most definitely are! They do not try to upsell you on anything whatsoever. They just charge you for what repairs are actually needed and will most definitely work with you. Heres a great thing about them... They do not charge for diagnostic services at all, which comes in very handy.

My son took his car in and they checked it out right away. I can honestly say it was nice being able to have someone check out my sons car without trying to take advantage of him, because he was a kid. Replaced wiper motor and transmission

I was surprised when I found out they were more than transmissions. We had an F-250 that had a difficult mechanical problem. We had been told that it was either un-fixable or it would cost more than the truck! They not only fixed it, but they did so with an integrity that you likely wont find anywhere else.

My check engine light came on after my car started and died within seconds the other day. We are you were planning on taking my car to go out of town this weekend leaving on Friday, and so we needed to get it in ASAP even though I wasnt having any other trouble with my car starting later that day. My husband originally told me to call doctor to see about getting the den, and they were going to charge me a hundred fourteen dollars for a diagnostic test to be run for my check engine light. On the way there, I googled cheap diagnostic testing and found Aamco and that they did free check engine light diagnostic testing. So I called them right away. I was floored by the amazing & over the top customer service!! I explained the situation and that we were going to be taking the car out of town in two days. He asked me originally if I could bring it in the next day, however I really wanted to get it looked at that same day. So he had me bring it by and squeezed me into his busy schedule. The diagnostic test came back with a code and he wanted me to bring it in the next day so that he could look at it further before we went out of town. I brought it in the next day about an hour or so early, told him that be didnt need to rush to take a look at it, however, he squeezed me in way before my appointment was even scheduled. They did further diagnostics on the car, he called me with what they had found. He said that they could not get the car to do what the code had signified that it would cause the car to do. He suggested that I come pick the car up and drive it around town and do some highway driving, to see if I had any issues with the car. He also called the local dealer and wanted to see if he could get part of the part to put in my car as we were going out of town, and in case we wanted to err on the safe side. The dealership would not work with him, and the part that was going to have to be bought was going to cost us close to $1000. He still strongly suggested that before paying $1000 for the part to be put in, to drive it around and if it had no further issues, that it should be fine to drive up to Hannibal. I was blown away that he did not try to sell me something that I didnt need! Also, he did not charge me for the further diagnostic testing and time that it took to look at my car. Upon picking up my vehicle, I told him that if there were ever any more issues with my car or my husbands car that we would be bringing it to him. If you are looking for an honest, affordable, and very willing to accommodate mechanic, Aamco Ballwin is your place to go!!!!

I had a broken wheel well cover on my Acura MDX and had taken it to the local Acura dealer, where I have always had my SUV serviced, to have it checked out. They quoted me $283 dollars ($98 for the part, the rest labor) to repair the wheel well cover, but then also found a oil pump leak ($1500 to repair), and a rear shock that need to be replaced ($1000). I declined to have any of the work done at the time, simply because I was not prepared to drop $2800. At the urging of my husband, I called AAMCO Ballwin to get a quote on the same work the Acura service department recommended. Sean at AAMCO gave me a quote of $880 to seal the oil pump and replace the rear shock, and suggested I order the $98 wheel well cover from Acura and install it myself (or have my husband do it), as it is an easy installation. I dropped my car off at AAMCO, and picked up a rental car at the Enterprise next door (so convenient), well prepared to leave my car at AAMCO for the day. Sean called me a few hours later to tell me that aside from the broken wheel well cover, his technicians couldnt find anything wrong with my car - nothing to fix, nothing to replace. I promptly picked my car up and was charged $0! Shame, shame Acura. You lost a very loyal customer. Not only will the Acura never get any more of my business, I will only use AAMCO for future services, and will shout far and wide what a great place this is!! Thank you AAMCO!!!!

They BROKE MY ENGINE, wont repair or pay for it, and are telling me to go away.I drove my car into this AAMCO on Thursday night and dropped off the keys. They ran tests on it on Friday and said that I needed a transmission repair (and nothing regarding the engine). I came to pick up the car on Friday night and couldnt start it. On Monday, they looked at it and told me that the engine was broken. They claimed it wasnt their fault.. but didnt even bother to find out what was wrong with the engine. They havent offered to make it right in any manner.
