They do not make batteries like they did in the old days. Even if you buy a good battery you can expect on the average 2 to 4 years battery life.I’ve been coming to A-1 Battery for over 20 years. When I was starting my vehicle this morning I noticed the battery going a little slower as if it was dragging. I know from experience this is one of the signs your battery will tell you that it is going bad.I absolutely love A-1 battery. Just pull it into one of their open stalls and one of their workers will immediately run a test to see what status your battery is in. One of the cells in my battery had gone bad and they immediately replaced my old battery with a brand new one.Their batteries all have a warranty and my old battery was almost 4 years old. They prorated it and charge me accordingly. Thank you A-1 battery!!

Needed a new battery for my car and after trying a few other places in town decided to go to A-1. Once we arrived there we we greeted right away and ask what we were needing. A new battery for our car, so we were directed to pull into a stall where the tec checked the charging system and indicated it was fine. We then picked out the style battery we wanted and paid for it and only had to wait a few minutes for them to install the battery. Very pleased with this experience.

Worst customer service.Firs time we went there to get a battery - rude.This time, 18 yr old girl working the desk - rude. We left and took our business somewhere else. & we will not be back. Kids these days just don’t have manners and it’s a shame. Whoever she was, please advise her to just be kind. Today is 10/6/21 at 2:30pm. Also - the guy at Bakersfield smog was super cool.

The absolutely best place in Bakersfield to get a new battery. Takes about 15 minutes. You pull right into a stall they replace your battery and you are on your way!! Thank you to the kind and courteous staff😊

Had to get a battery at 5:20pm, right before closing. I called and they picked up the phone quickly. Slid in before closing and they had the battery and cart prepped to go. Quick service, I was out before 5:30pm. The warranty lengths are great and the battery costs half as much as other stores.

I have a handicap scooter which I need to get around and the batteries are bad so I went to A1 and they replaced the batteries. they would charge and go down the first time I used them so took them back and ask him to check them and he said they were good. That must be some other problem so I took my scooter to a scooter storeTo see what was going on and they said they’ve had more than one customer come in saying the batteries wasn’t working and it was the batteries that were bad so I had to pay to get new batteries again shame on them do you think they’ll give me my money back no not likely

Cannot say enough good things about A-1 Battery on Rosedale Hwy. I always take my car there, but today they outdid themselves. I was stuck with a dead battery on the other side of town, on one of the hottest days here in Bako. I had a NOCO charger in my car, got it going, and headed for A-1. Cody waved me in and very quickly and professionally took care of installing a new battery. Robert was friendly and kind, and I was out of there in 20 minutes. Thank you, guys! They have always provided good service, and I think everything has always been in stock.And if you are into that type of thing, they have a big shop bird named Bubba He is pretty cool.We have used the Rosedale and Union locations.

Had them come out today to check a battery under warranty. They checked the battery and alternator and gave us a fresh new battery and installed it quickly.Then had him check another battery in our fleet truck that I figured was going bad, and they checked it in front of me and yup, it was going bad. Prices are very fair. If something happens to your battery before the warranty is up they make it good with no argument. I know this from personal experience. Staff members are friendly and helpful.

Place is a complete RIP off I dont know of any place that you can have a warranty for 4 years but they pro rate you after one year my battery went bad after 2 years and I have to pay $60 for a new one instead of going to auto zone or o Reillys for a battery and they take care of it no problem.

I called this AM to have a battery delivered and installed. The gentleman that answered the phone said it would be about an hour. I was pleasantly surprised when Jacob showed up in a 1/2 hour.Jacob was very pleasant, fast and efficient. He installed the best battery they had to offer for my vehicle and when I started the car it fired up very strong. I couldnt be happier.My father used A-1 on Union years ago when he operated the largest school bus maintenance shop in town and was always pleased with their service. I have followed suit and have relied on them for over 30 years. Their service and products are wonderful.

Very fast & friendly service here. Was in & out in a matter of minutes. By the time we finished paying, the car was ready to go already. Only thing is that they dont keep electronic records here of your battery purchase -so you have to keep your receipt (they can go by a mark on your battery too, but it can rub off).

Terrible customer service. Gave me the wrong battery . Left me stranded on my vacation with my family 2 hours away where I had to spend another 325.00 on top of the 308.00 they had charged me Then blamed me for giving me the wrong battery. Stated I must have asked for the wrong battery (ya cause Im a battery expert who only wants to screw up my family vacation ) because they have been in business 38 years so obviously they dont make mistakes. Made the return process as difficult as possible i had to drive 2 1/2 hours each way to retrieve the receipt from the vehicle in storage even with my form of payment in hand and having talked to the manager and owner , stating they dont keep any sales records and wouldnt know what they charged me, refused to reimburse for my core after the owner Ken said they would. Gave me an old battery instead of my 7.00 core charge. Very disappointed in this place and will never be back. Once they have your money they want nothing else to do with you.This is why Amazon and autozone are running small businesses out of business. Returns are easier, products are more dependable,and you can get help at any store across the country with your form of payment in hand and if they make a mistake they take care of it. Instead of dealing with a local yocal .Supporting local businesses has always been important to me but after this cluster f@#k Ill be more apt to visit the big stores and not have to deal with this type of experience again where the person. having the least amount of power want to throw their weight around the most. The good reviews show how things are if there is not a problem, the not so favorable reviews will show you how they treat people if there is any type of problem those are the only ones that really matter.

Must be having a bad day. I have had many positive experiences in the past but today I was quickly pulled into the garage and told I had a dead battery as I expected. The tech quoted me $89 for a 4 year and $98 for a 5 year. I told him to install the 4 year and I headed to the office. When paying it came to $135. When I told Andrew the GM that I was quote $89 he asked the tech and was told no quote was given. I asked the tech and was told that I wasnt paying an attention to him and that I was lying. Not wanting to argue I went back in the office and was told that they could put the old battery in if I want. Thinking that was silly I paid for the battery and left. Not what I was expecting as far as customer service, probably a great battery but just not interested in getting treated like that again. I understand people have bad days so I might go back, might not.

I have been using A-1 Battery for a number of years for the simple reason that they are always honest and do a great job. Just today my wifes vehicle had a completely dead battery, and it took them a total of five minutes to have a new battery installed and I was on my way. They honor their warranties and give excellent service. Definitely recommended!

We recently purchased a 2001 Class A motorhome, and we were headed to Pismo on our first outing. It was very slow to start, and showed a low battery warning. Stopped at Costco for fuel, barely got it restarted. Decided to stop by A1 Battery on the way out of town, and called to make sure we could get through without backing up. They assured us they would make that happen. A tech was waiting in the 104 degree heat to direct us where we needed to park, and three techs immediately set to work checking out the batteries. One of the two engine batteries was bad, and they recommended replacing both of them since they are linked and were six years old. They were done in 15 minutes - almost. Turned out the starter was shot, too. It was now 5pm on a Friday, and the parts houses were closed. A1 Battery sells batteries, but also tests and sells alternators, cables, and starters, but didnt have one for the motorhome in stock at the Rosedale store. They called the tech at another location who specializes in starters, and he had a superior replacement available. Realize that these guys were supposed to be off at 5.... Instead, the tech delivered the replacement to the Rosedale location, where the Rosedale techs had the old starter off and were ready to go. They did the install and turned the key - and the new, more powerful replacement starter cranked that diesel over with authority. Far superior to the original starter in every way.The entire time we were there, the staff and the owner treated us like they were honored to be working for us. They went far above and beyond to get us back on the road the same day, with a much better operating machine, and with an attitude of joyous service rarely seen in this day and age. They stayed an hour past closing to take care of a customer, without hesitation, and at an exceptionally low price. Owner Kent Tackett has grown a culture of customer service second to none. I cant imagine going anywhere else in the future.

Do not ever go here to fix your car . I got it 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I had to change the stabilizer shock on the front.. I bought the part on AutoZone and I when theyre try to get installation only . The guy in the office was okay but then other guy came to try to charge me extra money for other stuff what i dont need... They told me $195..labor only.. What that is crazy I move three blocks more and I find another shop they did it for $30... Beware for people like those guys

It was like this: I pulled up towing my travel trailer, barely had the engine off and a worker was at the front of my trailer disconnecting the batteries (knew what I wanted like a mind reader) and literally had me two deep cycle batteries 490 ah connected in series in less that 10 minutes!

I went in had my battery tested I did need a new battery it took me 20 minutes total time. They didnt charge an arm & leg they were quick and friendly I recommend them. They did have a place to sit inside but I didnt have to use it because they allowed me to stay in the car.

I actually went to A-1 Smog! It is next door to A-1 Battery Company. The service was excellent as always! I went in a little after 8:00 AM 01/02/2018. The attendant wrote the ticket and went out and looked at my truck. He came back to me and advised me that the Service Needed Soon light was on. He also advised me not to have them do the smog test with the light on because the test would cause a fail. He told me it could be as simple as a gas cap or bad fuel. I fueled up, drove the truck a while, parked it, came back an hour or so later and the Service Needed Soon was off. I returned to A-1 Smog, they ran the smog test and the truck passed! 2001 GMC 2500 HD Duramax Diesel. Great service and friendly people!
