I liked Mad Dog. I was a walk in and Adrian tatted me up. He had great freehand and it was done in less than 5min.Keep in mind, I did just walk in. But I had to wait over an hour for an artist. Then they have tattoo groupies over there. Not a surprise just weird to open my eyes and have 2 strangers staring at it being done.Overall, fully what I expected from Mad Dog Tattoo. If you want that old school downtown tattoo experience come here. You just might have to wait a bit.Thanks Adrian!

A very professional tattoo shop that has been in this location for over 20 years. I had another tattoo done for me yesterday. My artist was Scott. He did an awesome job and I was extremely pleased with his work skills. The tattoo looks outstanding.

Sebastian is awesome and on point. Quick and efficient🙂However, I feel he overcharged for our small tattoos. I was quoted half the price for a bigger tatto. Also, he charged an unexpected $80 gratuity after the work was done. Ask many questions but, shop around before making a finally decision.

I got in touch with Marc, who has 30 years experience with tattooing, & he absolutely nailed my piece. This is the best line work Ive ever seen & he did it so fast. The base of my tat, the lines, were done in an hour & a half. The shading was done in about 40 min.Im SO happy with my piece & It is gorgeous! Thankyou so much, Marc! Such a disappointing experience, I’ve gotten my nose pierced here before and had a great experience the piecer explained everything in detail and it didn’t hurt at all however this time it was the complete opposite, I felt so uncomfortable and the piercer kept pushing and pulling the needle into my nose which made it worse. I literally cried in pain in my car afterwards, never coming back

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced. Horrible location. Felt very unsafe walking around that part of the city. I wasnt able to watch them open the packaging to verify sterile needles but the lady was nice.

Went to see if they can see my mom to get an eyebrow tattoo the people there are nice helpful and works with you

We went to get ear piercings and called the day before and the guy said the piercing guy would do it but when we went there had to wait 1.5 hours to be told no. Will never refer anyone here

My friend recommended this place so i checked it out. I went here to try to get tattoos. Both guys were busy, I get it. But it really didnt seem like they were interested in my business because they didnt give me an estimate on the tattoos I wanted or offer me an appointment, they were just like come back tomorrow. I had exactly what I wanted printed out too. So I dont see any reason why I couldnt at least gotten a price estimate. I ended up going to a different shop. That shop was busy too but they had someone working the front and they gave me an estimate and I was able to make an appointment.

When I came in I was nervous but the guy that did my septum was really cool and calmed me down then they took me back and I seriously didnt feel the needle go in 😂 the jewelry pain was abt a 0.2 out of 10

Barney pierced ear last week and I was amazed by his professionalism and skill. I have extremely thick cartilage in my ears, which are already extremely small, so he made sure my ear could be pierced. He went over every step of the process beforehand and made sure I was comfortable with it. He also explained the process in perfect laymans terms and sold me a bottle of saline spray for cheap. 100% recommended Barney and Mad Dog for any piercings

Bakersfield is probably the last on my list of desirable cities to visit. I live in Los Angeles and there are a plethora of really good tattoo artists here, but even so I wanted Mad Dog tattoo. Mainly because I know they do excellent work, are personable, and hospitable. Mad dog tattoo was able to execute my vision and apply it with their own creative techniques. Throughout the tattooing process I was giving him direction on what to add and what colors to use.... which I could see some tattoo artists would respond with a pretentious attitude. He was very accepting and responsive and that is why I drove over 3 hours to get a tattoo for my birthday. Plus, Mad Dog has a lot of wild rock n roll stories! Thanks Mad Dog tattoo! You rock!

Real quick if go in for a piercing.

I unfortunately had a bad experience with a nose piercing. It never healed correctly even after making sure it was clean with saline. It constantly had a bump and even after I went back asking for help, I was told it was probably the bad air quality that kept it from healing. Its almost been a year (only a few days away) and my nose ring fell out on its own and I have a huge keloid bump now. Im not sure if its the nose ring material they gave me or the way it was pierced but my nose did not take it. The people who helped were nice but I just wish they would have been more helpful when I explained that it wasnt healing because I dont believe the air quality had anything to do with it.

Too expensive and low quality. Go somewhere else. Believe me

Last time i went there they were clean and did a great job.. And am going there again soon for a few more tattoos

Brittany was my piercer and she was completely awesome. She explained everything completely well and she made it comfortably easy. She is an amazing person! Definitely Recommend! ~M~

Just went back for second time in this tattoo parlor. Chris took good care of me. I was a walk-in, looking for some Mandarin Chinese work on my inner forearm, and adding a little color to an existing Mandarin Chinese tattoo on the other arm, that I got here a couple years ago.It was just yesterday, but everything seems to be healing up just fine, the colors look great. All pretty quickly, and at a reasonable price.

Staff was super nice and made me feel super comfortable when I was getting my nose pierced for the first time! Highly recommend it. Also, the piercing was cheap!

The owner was a real sweetheart. He took our idea and made it better.

I went here during Friday the 13th 2017 and it was very busy, but the staff was very kind and worked hard to get through everyone in a timely fashion. Although I was there late, it was well worth the wait! And Justin was kind enough to ask me back to apologize for my wait before it was my turn to get my tattoo done. The place was very clean and everyone working was very kind and friendly and my experience there was fantastic.I highly recommend this place and I wholeheartedly plan to return and have another tattoo done.

Went in the other day with my oldest sister to get sibling tattoos and I have to say it was the best experience I could have in a shop. Everyone in there is so friendly. We had the privileged of getting our tattoos done by Justin and I would highly recommend getting a tattoo done by him. His work is amazing and he makes sure your design is perfect before starting. Have had three tattoos done at this shop, all turned out beautifully and exactly what I wanted. Each time theyve been very professional and courteous. My last experience was very special as my mom was in hospice care dying of cancer. My sisters and I were together in one place for the first time in several years and we wanted to get a sisters tattoo. Marc not only personally did our tattoos (with the help of his apprentice) but gave us a really good deal because of it being St. Patricks Day. Hes a funny, kind hearted guy with a unique personality.

Barney pierced my daughters ears and did an awesome job! He explained everything to her ahead of time and through each step. She said it was practically painless! Would definitely go to Barney again for any future piercings.

I have gotten tattoos here before and I loved the work Marc did so I decided to come back but when I arrived my name was taken down in a list and I was told to pick my tattoo I picked what I wanted and continued to wait for my turn only to be pushed back and 4 other people where seen before me even when I was next on the list I waited 4 hours to be seen. When a chair was finally open and I was told I was next a walk in was seen and got the chair and that’s when I ended up leaving noone ask me anything or acknowledged I even left.

I had one of the most positive tattoo experiences of my life. It was a fun, positive environment and I loved the way my tattoo turned out. I did a lot of research before I got this particular tattoo done. Marc DeLeon was great and did a spectacular job!

The only thing that takes away from the entire atmosphere is some of the customers acting stupid and entitled. But thats not why they get four out of five stars. They get four stars out of five only because I havent gotten any ink done there myself. And I plan on that in the near future. So theyll get their fifth star then

I set an appointment one day for a specific time and I came in and right then and there the customer service was awful I had said excuse me at least five times to one gentleman that was working in the front and he proceeded to ignore me and then when he finally acknowledged us he was straight up like I don’t know anything so don’t ask me anything and so I left and went to another tattoo shop I called today to complain to the owner and a female answered the phone and as I’m telling her what happened for her to relate the story to the owner she rudely cut me Off and rushed me off the phone so now I’m leaving a review because I could not get a hold of the owner

I really liked my rose (Rating: 4 stars). but I wanted my unicorn to look like a horse(3 stars). Ive loved horses and unicorns since I was 5. This was supposed to be my dream come true. Im sad now. Friendly ppl though. Ill make sure to get all my tats sketched from now on. But I got my cross on my hand and he made sure it was straight. (That I give 5 stars)
