This place is pretty good. If you have never been here before and have been to Sam Ash before. It is very close to the same kind of place. They have sections by category of instruments being sold. You can try them and play them before purchasing and the guys there earn commission, so they go out of their way to convert you into a customer. Any conversions that they get they make money. So they will answer the phone and display and show what they know when it comes time for presentation of the products that they sell.I recently purchased a Yamaha MODX and our interaction lasted over three visits. At which he listened and understood my needs and then made recommendations based on those needs.I was originally looking for a Yamaha Montage and ultimately steered me to the MODX.I am a bit of a dinosaur in recent technology and he helped me bring myself up for speed.He even helped my purchase the board and put in on layaway for me, so I had time to run to the back later that day to purchase the board. I purchased the board about a week ago and I am happy with it.

Employees are nice and helpful, but this place is low on stock for everything. I had to order something online to be able to get it. When I arrived, the employees couldnt find the package. They looked all over and had no luck. Eventually just got one that was in their inventory. They used to have a bunch of inventory, now not much.

A friend of mine wished to go here, and I was along for the ride. We were chiefing our mj carts. He needed guitar 🎸 strings, and I wanted to walk over to Best Buy.

The employees are always really helpful but this place never has stock of anything. Every time I make the drive down here theres empty shelves on the thing Im looking for. I always end up having to drive to Phoenix and they magically have it every time. Whether it be a certain type of pic, a mixer I needed, certain guitar keys or this certain spray that Ive seen in stock at every other Guitar Center. I want to support you guys but I cant shop here if theres nothing to buy.

Dropped a guitar off on 7/24 for restring and premium service as it has been sitting for years and wanted to get back into playing. Clerk said it would be done same day, but the repair tech was out to lunch when I came back after his break, he said it would be done next day. I called in on 7/25 and was told it was not done and they would call me when it was done. Called back again on 7/29 and was told it had not even been touched yet, but they would have it done that night. Went back in on 7/30 to pick it up, and repair guy was at lunch again and my guitar had not been touched. At that point, I just took my guitar and went elsewhere.

They have a lot of nice equipment and the staff seem to know their stuff

Got help from a sales guy by the of Nolan. Very nice helpful guy. I bought my first ever American made Strat from him. With a 5 year protection plan.

Customer service is their top priority here. The store manager went above and beyond to make sure we were totally satisfied with our experience at guitar center. Cant say enough about these guys.

Do you want to look online for an item, drive 15 miles to pick it up, only to be told they dont have it in stock? And then have the employee chuckle as he tells you that youre the 4th or 5th person who has come in for the item that says its available online, yet out of stock in store? Then this is your place! Store was pretty disheveled, one bathroom was out of order.They told us to try another store 10 minutes down the road which is under the guitar center brand. Once I look online, the price for the same item is nearly twice what it would be if it was in stock at GC.

Ordered a guitar from them for online that they said they had in stock but turns out they never had it and they didn’t even tell me. They gladly accepted my $1200 payment and it was supposed to ship out the same day since I paid for same day shipping. Once the guitar didn’t arrive and I notice that I never received a shipping notification, I decide to call them. They said “oh we don’t have the guitar and won’t be getting it in the future. If you want we have a used broken model of the guitar that you’re looking for. We can give you a $100 discount off the broken guitar”. Are you serious ? You don’t even tell me that you don’t have the guitar and then try to sell me a broken version of the guitar for $100 discount ? I’m never buying anything from guitar center again and sticking to Sam ash.

Great customer service and wide selection of inventory. Usually busier on the weekends. Fair prices and a repair shop that is quick and knowledgeable. If you have any music interest at all its even a good place to just go and browse

Very disappointing trip to try to buy a beginner guitar. No stock on acoustic steel wire guitars less than $400 (and up). While We were in the store we saw 3 people walk out without purchases for the same reason we left without buying. The clerk was very apologetic and did his best to upsell us into a $600 used guitar but that is absolutely not what we wanted. Sad to see a Guitar Center this poorly stocked.

Went in a few times the other day to buy an instrument and the first time didn’t go so well. I almost didn’t go back, as I felt I was being ignored and then the sales rep didn’t have any knowledge in the range of instruments I was looking at.When I went back, I was lucky enough to get Max. Max was a caring and knowledgeable guy who knew his stuff, gave me facts and also offered insight that I did not even think about. He listened and treated me with respect and I really appreciated that. Thanks :)

This is my go to place when Ive had any questions about certain regarding. How to properly install strings into my ukulele. The store has a great variety of instruments. Whenever I couldnt find any accessories online, this place had it.The staff are really welcoming and chill. I really enjoy shopping at this store. I can get the chance to test and jam out on instruments Ive been hesistate to try. Always fun times whenever I come to this location.

I had to find microphones covers and stands, this place was in my neighborhood and I never knew it! Clean, nice lighting, good prices. They also have keyboards, albums, sheet music and speakers- I was glad to have found this place.

Except for them only being able to allow 10 people in at a time its a good place.

Great place for buying, repairing, and buying guitar related items. When getting your guitar fixed be sure to stay in touch with them because when its ready for pick-up no one will call you. Atleast that was my experience and I picked up my guitar 3 weeks later even tho they said it was going to be a 3 day job. Maybe its due to the pandemic or lack of staff who knows but definitely will be coming back.

I found what I needed like always and they require you to wear a mask which is great! Before you play a instrument you must either ask or use hand sanitizer. Overall they are doing their best to keep people safe in their store and I love that!

Looking for bongos and percussion instruments. The only bongos on display was a kids set. They had bongos but they were all still in boxes behind the counter. The guy behind the counter said they havent got around to opening any. Maybe if the store had a policy of no personal cell phones the clerks would have time to open the boxes and display the merchandise. We saw the clerk standing around on his cell phone most of the time while we were looking at other items. We had to go over and interrupt his conversation to ask for help. Its all about customer service.

Save time and a trip and buy online. Inventory in the store is ridiculously low. Unless youre there for a return or repairs call in before heading over to avoid wasting your time.

Good people, always helpful regardless if you are a beginner or experienced musician. I didnt give it 5 stars because their store inventory has been a bit low.

After telling us over the phone that they had a kids Yamaha guitar available, we drive 50 minutes to go retrieve it only to find out once we get there that its broken. They werent even apologetic about it. Had to drive across town to the Scottsdale location just to get the guitar we were told Tempe already had. Terrible customer service, would never recommend.

What is there not to like about Guitar Center except theres not enough of them or one close to me.

Not a musician but went in there to buy a Christmas gift. They were very helpful and made me feel like I was their top priority. I asked alot of dumb questions and the sales rep was more than happy to answer them.

Took my $4k custom classical guitar there with buzz on the 13th and 14th fret. Now I have a useless guitar with buzz everywhere. And when complaining was told to go have a f good day. Avoid guitar center repair shop in avalon at any cost. Your guitar will become a useless piece of wood

This Guitar Center was very clean and organized. The employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. I went in for a hand drum and was given excellent advice about which one was best for me. They offer music lessons now which is awesome. I definitely recommend this location.

We love guitar center however visiting this one was a little frustrating as we were looking for it a tuner for my boyfriends guitar and asked for help finding it and were pointed in the direction it was in...ugggh and of course we couldnt find it in a sea of guitar parts I finally had to just get the guitar repair person in the back and he finally walked us over to where it was.

3.5 really but I round up. Staff is always awesome but this location has the feel its not doing well. They change the arrangement of the guitar/basses a lot and often have a limited selection. I would like to see a few high end basses and maybe a higher end drum kit. Guitar selection is better, however, its heavy on entry level. The used gear is hit or miss here just like all other GC locations.

I ordered an app from Pro Audio Karma by phone. I was helped by a lady named Molly, she was exceptionally helpful, patient and made sure all my needs were met, Im very happy with her. Hopefully she gets a raise soon! The store is in Arizona and Im a customer in Wisconsin I found her to be very helpful.

I feel bad for the employees that work there. Theyre not getting resources to succeed.The shelves are practically bare and the store is filthy.

We have been coming here for over two years and have purchased many guitars and equipment. This place gets it when talking about customer service. The whole staff is friendly, knowledgeable and even enthusiastic in their work. Theyre also very welcoming! My son is a guitar enthusiast and they allow him to play there and try out the different guitars he likes. Theres no place like this anywhere!

Excellent deals in the percussion department. Need to get the percussion specialist some help. He was extremely good at being helpful and positive, but had a line out the door and couldnt even get a lunch in so i felt bad for him.

Guitar Center is operating differently. Only two people are allowed in at a time. When you get inside you are told to use hand sanitizer. Then a sales person escort you the whole time. It is a different operation.

This location used to be a great place. Very free and open and full of helpful individuals. I came in today to spend some money on cables and was kicked out due to not having a mask. The mask mandate was lifted a few weeks ago and I have also been vaccinated. The fact that a separate employee interrupted the man helping me, and asked me to leave is unprofessional and rude. I am a paying customer who had to leave because of someone else stupidity. We need to resume some sense of normalcy if we are going to move forward. I wont be shopping at Guitar Center again.

Took my daughter here to get her some picks. She enjoyed looking at the instruments and seeing all that was there. The staff was great and though we didnt need help to grab picks, they were kind enough to ask if we needed anything on several occasions. The only reason for not giving five stars is due to the fact that we really had no idea where to go to pay for what we wanted and at that time, no one was around to even let us know where to go.Its not a huge deal, but a little annoying when I had a 7 year old that could hardly resist touching the very expensive instruments.

The store is extraordinarily messy. It is in a constant state of reorganization. The employees are nowhere to be found. Managers are clearly not doing their jobs. It is embarrassing to go into this store.

Its 116 outside and they will only let you in with a sales accocite escort..ok all well and good ...but they only have 2 sales accocites working ..on a Saturday, ..Really! Leaving a 20 to 30 minute wait in the heat with no misting system.

If i could do 0 i would. Walmart is full of over a couple hundred people and they still let me in the store because i have a medical condition. Id rather have corona cause at least that condition isnt perminant, while mine is and if i dont have an inhaler on hand i could die. Walmart will let me in but you guys wont. I will not be returning and i will let others know that have same medical issues to do the same. People with chronic athsma have been around a lot longer than corona and now we are blocked off more than anyone. Cause we cant WEAR A DAMN MASK!
