We’ve had a tremendous experience with the Avon School of Music. My son has been taking guitar lessons there for 4 years since he was 7. Prior to that he had never touched an instrument. He has made enormous progress over the years, and most importantly he loves going. His guitar teacher, Craig, is a very accomplished musician himself and he’s great with kids. The school/teachers are also very flexible. My son has gotten more busy with sports over the years but we always find a way to get his lesson in or make it up quickly.While I haven’t had much direct experience with the other teachers, it is obvious that they are all great musicians and very nice people. The school puts on a couple of concerts every year, and I’m am always amazed at the quality of the people and the performance of the students of all different ages.Lastly, while I see a lot of kids taking lessons, Avon School of Music is truly for anyone. My father, who is in his early 70s, just started taking piano lessons at the school and has had a very good experience.I would highly recommend Avon School of Music to anyone interested in learning to play music!

Great teachers and helpful staff! Good location in Strongsville. Wide variety of schedule offerings and instruments. Voice and piano lessons are very good. Very happy with the piano books used to teach.

My 5 yr daughter takes piano classes with Ms. Bee here. She is an amazing teacher. She has built a strong sense of relationship with my kid in her class. I think this is very important for reaching our educational goals for such young kids. I strongly recommend them.

My nine year-old son has been a student at Avon School of Music since February of 2021. He plays the trumpet and is with Mr. Brian. My son is making great progress and he enjoys his lessons. My daughter is in 7th grade and recently started viola lessons with Mikayla. After her first lesson she said she learned so much!! It’s a great place for focused one on one learning to quickly advance your skills!!

Craig is an excellent instructor. My ten year old daughter is enjoying her lessons and has expressed interest in writing music in addition to learning the guitar. Craig also allows my daughter to pick some of the songs she is learning which she really appreciates.

My cello teacher is the best Ive had. I have excelled in my playing abilities and had a lot of fun. I encourage any musician to take lessons at Avon School of Music, to learn a lot through their exceptional teachers and lessons.

My daughter has been taking flute lessons with Courtney for just over a year now. Courtney is wonderful! When my daughter started lessons with her, she had never played the flute before. In just a year my daughter has made tremendous progress. Courtney provides clear instruction, is very patient, and very encouraging. My daughter has gained tremendous confidence and joy through learning the flute. Since the pandemic started, my daughter has been taking virtual lessons with Courtney and they are going great. It is wonderful that we were given this option and that my daughter has been able to continue with her lessons. We highly recommend Courtney for flute instruction!

Being able to continue virtual lessons and talk to Caleb each week during these uncertain times has provided some structure and a sense of normalcy for my daughter. My son has been taking piano lessons for about a year and a half. His teacher, Marisa, has been so patient and encouraging. He is picking up the piano much quicker than expected. I have tried to get my son involved with sports, cub scouts, and a variety of other activities, but he has not found any of them interesting enough to continue on with. Piano has been our breakthrough. He has enjoyed every minute and always wants to go to lessons. Additionally, scheduling has been very reliable. The teacher has always been available and never cancelled. We really like Avon School of Music; it has been a great experience.

Avon School of Music has been a great place to begin and advance my familys musical skills. Justin, a percussion instructor, is knowledgeable, personable, and takes a unique approach to building skills. Jessica, who has instructed my family in piano, is incredibly patient and has plenty of tips and tricks to make all of the memorization a breeze!

My daughter has received instruction for both woodwind and brass instruments. Her instructors have helped with technique and her playing has improved. Well definitely be back as long as shes a member of the marching and concert bands!

My son has been taking Suzuki violin lessons here since fall of 2017. His first teacher was okay, but the one he has now that replaced his original is absolutely stellar and has improved his sound and technique immensely! Throughout the year they give fun incentives for the students to practice more at home. There are also a couple recitals a year which is a great added experience for the students. Highly recommend this school!

Both of my children attended years of lessons - piano and guitar- at Avon School of Music. They adored their teachers and learned a lot. The teachers were enthusiastic and tailored their teaching to each child. Scheduling is very convenient and they are very accommodating. I would highly recommend Avon School of Music.

The Avon School of Music changed the trajectory of my life for the better! I was a student with Carla way back in 2006. With her encouragement, I became a flute performance major in college, and went on to get my master’s. I’ve been playing in an orchestra since 2014. Who knows where I’d be if not for the great folks with the school of music!

The teachers are fine. In fact, some are great. However, youre gambling every week when you show up to a lesson. Will we indeed have a lesson? Will our instructor be double booked and blow us off? Will they have a teacher quit and then continue to charge us week after week after week with NO ONE AVAILABLE TO GIVE LESSONS? Youre really taking your chances with the unbelievably poor organization that this school has demonstrated. Now hopefully theyll honor a refund although to really be fair they should reimburse me for the mileage too.I wanted to follow up from this initial review. A few weeks after I posted it, I was contacted by the school director who was ver apologetic. He really went above and beyond to make this right, reimbursing for mileage and offering to personally schedule lessons for my son. We are moving a few hours away so we cannot take him up on it, but I so appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond to address and fix the issue.

We have been with the Avon School of Music for two years and have been quite satisfied with the teachers and service they have provided. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful. The teachers are patient, fun and approachable. We look forward to every practice!

The teachers really know their field of teaching, all of them having bachelors and/or master degrees. Both Stephen and Tom are great guitar teachers. Tanya is one of the nicest receptionists youll ever meet too.

We had some initial issues when booking lessons, but Avon School of Music corrected the issue and my husband was able to take his lessons and he thoroughly enjoyed them. The instructor was great, even lending his guitar to my husband for practice at home. The Director seems very passionate about the business and customer satisfaction.

Avon School of Music has taught me so much about guitar and voice and I don’t think I would be nearly as good at music as I am now if I hadn’t taken lessons here.

Both of my daughters have been studying piano for over 6 years now with the school and we cannot say enough about the top quality lessons and the caring professional staff. Their teacher is very thorough in covering all aspects and relates very well with their vastly different personalities:). With her degrees in piano performance, we can definitely see how this translates into good progress for our children and playing not just notes but expressing music in a fun way. They learn how to do this because she does it herself! Their teacher catches everything and keeps the bad habits from ever starting. We have not had this experience with other places. We are very happy with Avon School of Music!
