A lovely shop! I visited for the first time today and immediately felt super welcomed not only by the comforting energy in the shop, but also by the super kind woman at the counter! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they had a wide array of herbs, teas, oils, books, and other supplies in stock. I was so excited while shopping, and I ended up leaving with more goodies than I had planned. I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much!!💗

As you walk in this little shop you can smell the oils it so calming. They sell jewelry, stones, fresh herb teas and so much more. If natural essential oils are what you are looking for this is the place to check out. I was given a piece of jewelry from here that I absolutely enjoy so much.

I always have an odd experience here. Been coming here since 2018 and its always been weird. They have everything I need and I prefer this place over Natures Treasures but the experience is a little off.

I was excited to go to this little place when were visiting Austin as my dad had been there many times (he is now passed). They were all so very rude and not helpful! You could tell there were certain ppl they tended to and others they did not. I’m so disappointed in this little shop it could have been a wonderful place except for the rude workers.

Cant recommend this shop enough. The people there are always so friendly helpful and knowledgeable. They take the time to explain any questions you might have and they are a wealth of information. They also took care of my grandmother who had a fall on the sidewalk on the way in. They were so kind to patch her up and send her home with some balm that aided in her fast recovery. This shop helped me learn a lot and set me on a path of healing where i had been lost for more than 15 years of my life. Very thankful for them.

This place is amazing!! The owner rocks too, she is definitely an awakened spirit and calls upon her Angels to help you make a decision if you are torn on which product to buy. You always want what will serve your highest good. I have found many treasures here, from jewelry to herbs to crystals to soaps & creams to Inspirational cards to Angelic books & items and meditation music. Whenever I’m in Austin I always make a point to stop by. They even offer free courses on the weekends for all sorts of things that will help you live a better, healthier life. It’s truly magical and everyone there is so helpful and friendly. My favorite purchase from here was a rose quartz pendant in the shape of a heart wrapped in sterling silver. I wear it everyday faithfully. There Herb Bar is a must see if you’re in Austin TX!!

This is the cutest herb store EVER! It is small but they pack a lot of stuff in their space! The essential oils are my favorites and I make monthly trips to stock up. They are way better than young living!!!The staff is helpful and answers questions or finds someone that can. The selection of bulk herbs isnt huge but is still a good selection. And of course a stones section. Its a wonderful place to browse and more than likely you wont leave empty handed. Parking is a bit of an issue but well worth the struggle.

This place has nice things but its soo expensive... I wanted to grab a Herb Bar sticker at the register and it cost $2.00...like wouldnt you like for me to show Austin about your little hidden herb bar? But no it cost $2.00 for a tiny sticker thats not worth $2.00Everything here is super expensive :(

Austin is very fortunate to have a brick-and-mortar store where they can purchase a wide variety of herbs, and talk to a knowledgeable person about them. They have books on-hand to reference herbal formulas as well.I dont frequently need to make herbal tonics, but the few times I have Ive been very grateful that The Herb Bar is here.

Absolutely loved this place. Found some hard to find herbs and the staff was quite knowledgeable about what I was looking for. As for what they did not carry, they were kind enough to point me in the right direction. Place had a nice calm atmosphere as well.

This place is really great. I went here when i was contemplating quitting my job. I was freaking out and needed a calm place with soothing people. They really helped me contemplate my life. I know this place is a metaphysical shop, and they do that really well. They have several herbs, even have a room dedicated to it and they have several natural healing remedies. They also have several crystals and charms.

I’ve come here a few times, and have always had a good experience. This time I came I brought a friend from out of town that absolutely loves these kinds of places. My review has nothing to do with the stores products or the staff. It has to do with the temperature of the store. It was hot and muggy this day, and I believe we were in the store for about 5 minutes, where I just got so over heated that I was actually sweating. I was so uncomfortable that I had to leave. I was unable to enjoy my shopping experience. I wasn’t able to browse around and learn more of the thousands of products you sell. I didn’t even make a purchase. I noticed the fans were on, but all you’re doing is moving hot muggy air around. It’s not cooling at all. You HAVE to get that fix before Texas Summer. I now know I will not come if it’s a hot day. I’ll have to buy my products online, when I’d rather support local. All because it’s too dang hot in your store.

Herb Bar is one of my favorite weird Austin places to visit. Even if you arent into a lot of the energy or crystal stuff, they have amazing tea blends, essential oils, and natural remedies. I first shopped there when I need diatomaceous earth to deal with a flea problem and have been shopping for years - I always find fun treasures every time I go! Staff is super helpful and friendly, but parking can be tough since its located on the edge of a residential area and South Congress. Definitely worth the trip though!

Several people had recommended this place, and yesterday I finally got a chance to visit. It was wonderful! This place is like an Oasis from the rest of Austin. From the scents of herbs, teas and candles to the beauty of crystals, jewelry and magical decor, it was beautiful in every way. One of my favorite places to shop. They have a wide variety of items, essesntial oils, herbs, in-house tinctures, teas and sprays, gifts, books and talismans... The staff is friendly, always available to help and knowledgeable. Plan on spending a little extra time there, I always end up making a new friend or learning something new.

The Herb Bar is in my neighborhood; and I go there frequently to buy incense, herbs, stones and other goodies. The selection is outstanding although the store is tiny. Ive had excellent service at each visit. Sometimes, I will just pop in the store for a few minutes to soak up the peaceful vibes.

I love this place! Ive had only one time of going in the last 10 ish years Ive been going where the staff wad rude and made me feel like I didnt belong but hasnt happened since. My son was diagnosed with psoriasis and the doctor told me to look into natural remedies. First thing I did was stop by the herb bar and Im so glad I did! The person working knew more then I could have hoped for and my son is now mostly flare up free!

I love the lose leaf tea selection and have been going here for years. I would give it 5 stars but some of their staff is (or was dont know if they still work there) extremely judgy. I went in there before my son was born looking for things to help heal me after he was born I like witch hazel. Instead of the staff helping me find things that would work or let him know when to come back so they would still be effective, I was met with lectures that it was too early and left feeling stupid. While I get that it may be common sense to them that its too early if your due dates 2 months away to buy witch hazel products as someone who isnt very familiar holistic style medicines I wasnt. Also I knew I wouldnt be up to going out right after he was born and was looking for something I could get an advance.

If you are looking for herbal supplements this is the place to go. Very friendly and knowledgeable

They have a pretty decent selection here. It’s super small so trying to walk thru when it’s busy can be tough. It’s pretty pricey but they had something for Cedar Fever so I was desperate. It seemed to help but $30 for a few days of relief is bit much for me.

If you have not tried their vanilla oil you are missing a real treat. It is so good and people all around you will love the scent. I often hear comments when i walk past people that they are smelling cookies, candles and cakes !!!!!! I have actually seen the scent put a smile on someones face that was not happy before I arrived. They have so much so you really need to go see for yourself. My husband tells his friends if you cant think of something to get your wife...just go to the Herb Bar!!!!

Yikes! Bring your psychic shield. Raised in Austin, been twice to Herb Bar. A month ago first visit, really pleasant service from two employees. Prices a little high but is so is rent in SoCo. Decided to return today to purchase myrrh and rose oil. Picked up the myrrh I intended to purchase and employee approached and scolded me in front of other employee and customer bc I opened and touched the oil. Informing customers of your policies is cool its all how you do it. Im pretty easy going, this was ew. Just wanted to spend some money, jeez.

I stopped by here... made it just in time, 10 mins before closing after sitting in traffic for 1.5hrs. They said they could help quickly. The woman who helped us was incredible. So knowledgeable, just amazing! For such a happy place I was really shocked and appalled that the lady with short hair working there was very pushy and rude. She turned the lights off while we were standing there talking to the lady helping us... literally as the clock struck 6:30 (when they closed) Just turned the lights off. She just stood at the counter and starred. I feel like another approach should have been used to let us know it was time to go. We felt very unwelcome by that lady. We only stayed maybe 10mins after closing because the wonderful woman helping us kept asking us questions and giving us great info. When we walked out the door, the door was slammed and locked. I was at a loss for words. Do yourself a favor and don’t go right before they are closing.

When I lived in Lubbock there was this little store called The Odyssey I believe. It was a super hippie bookstore, but with incense, essential oils, and all manner of super kewl stuff. I spent an inordinately large amount of time there since it was a short drive from my High School to there. It was also right down the street from University Records, which was an absolutely amazing CD store. At least, relative to the other sad options in Lubbock. Anyway, they sold Herb Bar essential oils, and thats where I fell in love with Sandalwood.So imagine my surprise when searching around here in Austin for essential oils and I find the very same place. Its a great little shop, somewhat reminiscent of the store that I used to frequent so often in Lubbock. Theres a tad too much woo woo, but honestly I find it endearing. Plus I got a kickass hip pouch that I take to FS with me.

Wish I could visit here more. Great selection of all the witchy stuff one might need. I love the little windchime I got from there. Also dig the selection of incense and other natural salves and whatnot. As much as the location makes it blend in with the houses around it, its alright. Just slow down and pay attention, also remember to turn your cell phone to silent. This place is peaceful and serene.

This is an awesome place to go! Cant believe how much they have in this tiny space! Got Cedar Fever? They have something that works great. One thing I really like that is different than similar stores is that they dont burn incense all day long that makes your clothes wreak all day. That can get really over powering in some places. From gifts to naturopathic products, an adventure...and having Torchys Tacos now at the corner is an added bonus.

The Herb Bar is one of my most favorite places in Austin. It still has the hippy dippy (and I mean that in a very good way) vibe of old Austin. The staff is super knowledgable and very kind and calming. I buy all of my essential oils there. They have a great selection of essential and carrier oils, all packaged in very simple amber glass bottles. They also have lots of alternative healing medications, teas, books, beauty products, incense, sage smudges and crystals. Oh and it always smells fantastic!
