We went with Ames because of their great reviews and because really they were the only ones who answered the phone and reached out immediately asking for pictures and ideas of what I wanted. We got a quote in a timely manner and decided to go through with Ames. It was a promised 2-3 week process but we did have a delay based on hardware that they were having a hard time getting from their manufacturer. It did take a couple more weeks than expected but this was something that was out of their control. We LOVED the way it turned out and it has become our own little oasis. The guys that did the install were so kind and knowledgeable and answered every question we had ( even our kids’ ). Great team and communication! Would recommend!

Ames glass was the only local business that responded and finished the job. We were remodeling our home and wanted new vanity mirrors and a frameless glass shower door. They gave me a quote for both and the mirror installation was done within days. The frameless shower took longer than expected because one piece of glass was measured incorrectly and needed to be re-ordered. That said, the final product is exactly what I was looking for. Logan and his team were professional and easy to work with, I recommend Ames for your glass-related projects.

Ames went above and beyond to ensure that our relatively difficult mirror installation came off as precisely and beautifully as it did. One bathroom required numerous holes and cuts be made in to mirror to except 4 on-mirror-mounted linear lamps. The end result is nothing short of stunning. Whats more is that Ames was able to resource a specialty glass called Starphire for this job making the mirrors more precise in their reflection of colors and tones. Other companies we contacted could not/would not deliver Starphire. Were delighted.

I needed a small amount of glass for a wood working project.. I needed eight small pieces of shatterproof glass. The people at Ames Mirror and Glass were just awesome. My bill for the glass I needed was only $62 but I was treated as if they were going to be able to retire on my business. I cant remember ever having a better experience with any business. We contacted Ames for a quote for a home gym mirror and, unlike every other company (which wouldn’t quote without a walkthrough), they sent me a quote the same day, which was far more reasonable than anything else I’d found. (We’re talking less than the best deal I’d found for mirrors alone, without second-floor delivery and installation). Robert came out the next day to take measurements and show me our options in terms of size, placement, etc., and wasn’t at pushy at all about my choice to only mirror half the wall. The cost was the same as originally quoted. I put 50% down for manufacture of the mirror and it was ready in hours. The next day Ben and Logan showed up right on time and, after confirming the placement I wanted, they were able to install the mounting hardware, move the 6’x6’ mirror from the truck to the second-floor gym and mount it IN LESS THAN 30 minutes. All communication occurred via text message which I so appreciate. All 3 guys were so polite and helpful. Finally, they were all masked and were able to text me links for payment etc so no contact was necessary. Keep doing what you’re doing, Ames!

Our experience wasn’t a positive one. We were getting a frameless shower. Staff measured & ordered the glass. Installation day, they installed the door & then had measured the other side incorrectly. No apologies, no kind customer service. Workers left with no details on next steps & we couldn’t use our shower for 2 weeks. We had to call to find out next steps. Replacement glass arrived to them & it was scratched, so no install. Again, no apologies, no kind customer service. Barely an update. Initially, when we started the project, we were sent examples of the frameless shower. Once installed, it looked nothing like the photos. The staff didn’t care & said we could change it for extra cost…Ofcourse they did. Just terrible all around.

I am very pleased with the installation services I received from Ames. I specifically worked with Chris who was able to problem solve a variety of challenges that arose during the installation. In particular, the wall in which the mirrors were being installed was severely crooked. This made lining up the mirrors difficult, but Chris was able to accomplish the job and made it look easy. I will definitely use these guys again in the future.

Our toddler karate-chopped a single-pane window in our home, so I was in immediate need of replacement glass. First, I called Binswanger, who quoted me four days to cut a 26” square piece of glass. I began sweating just thinking about the climbing summer temperature in my son’s cardboard-enclosed room. Then, I rang Ames. A cheery representative shared that he could have the glass ready in 20 minutes! 20 minutes?! I think I might have said, “I love you.” When I picked up the glass, Ames employees were incredibly kind, and they graciously answered some of my questions about glass installation and replacement. I couldn’t recommend this fast and friendly company more!

My boyfriend and I had a great opportunity to stay at a friends gorgeous lake house at the beginning of the COVID quarantine. The folks at Ames are professional, friendly, affordable, and fast. Their cuts are precise and their glass is high quality. Theyre aces in the giant mirror game, but lately Ive been using them for some smaller mirror projects. Ive been able to pick up my cuts on the same day, and even though my work is relatively small-scale, theyre always happy to help and cut the big pieces down to something more manageable for me. I even watched them cut some mirror today—like butter! Ive never felt like they thought my project wasnt worth their time (a feeling Ive had at all of the big box stores). Theyre a great shop that supports the local makers and serves the small businesses just as wonderfully as they serve the big guys.
