I remember first trying Milky Way Shakes waaaaaay back when they were tucked away at the old Spider House complex. I ordered a shake and was enjoying it when my friend met me there and went to order one too. She came back with it and was raving about how delicious it was. I cant believe theyre vegan! she said. Wait. What?? I literally had no idea they were vegan! Thats how indistinguishable it is from a traditional shake that uses milk-based products. So if youre like me and would normally scoff at vegan bases foods but are growing increasingly (and alarmingly) lactose intolerant -- Milky Way Shakes is the place for you. You can finally enjoy a milk that is, again, INDISTINGUISHABLE from a milk-based shake without the repercussions. All of the regular flavors are good (The Starberry is my favorite -- basically strawberry lemon curd shake) but my pro tip is to ask what monthly special they have going on. Its always something seasonal, delicious and fun.

Milky Way Shakes is such a gem, I especially love trying their specials, they never disappoint! Everything they make is incredible, if something is not naturally gluten free they can usually substitute (like gluten free brownies for regular brownies, etc.) Highly recommend!!

The Violet milkshake was blueberry and lavender in a vanilla milkshake. Then there were crunchy meringue pieces and a candied edible flower. It was delicious and gorgeous.

I knew I wanted some dessert and wanted to try something different. This was a great spot that filled that need. The trailer is located in a food trailer park with a few other vegan food trailers. There is a parking lot off 2nd street.I had the Oreo Borealis. It was excellent and the presentationwas great. I wouldnt have guessed it was vegan.

I had no idea the shakes were dairy free, nonetheless they were amazing and a great price!! The 12oz was the perfect size for me too since I can hardly finish most things I order. I got the chocolate eclipse with a vanilla base and it was immaculate. The hubby got the Oreo borealis, which tasted almost like a thin mint! 😆 will definitely be coming back here.

My boyfriend (who usually scoffs at vegan foods, especially ice creams) and I both devoured our shakes! SO GOOD. We tried the Oreo Borealis and a seasonal carrot cake flavor. I cant wait to go back.

The snowman on top of the eggnog one was SO GOOD AND ADORABLE!!!And the grackle massacre shake..I was dubious of the cayenne but it was actually ridiculously YUMMY!!!!More importantly it officially has the award (from me) of best name for a food item!!!

Milky Way is truly unique! I know of no other place where you can get delicious, vegan shakes with artful confectionary toppings! The owners have a background in chocolateiring, so the milkshakes are both playful and skillfully crafted. This is a good place to bring visitors from out of town.

Glacial arcanums mingled deftly from a veggie welkin. Even blended with almond the coconut is overbearing - perhaps swapping it out with oat would leave a less strident experience.

This food truck is tucked away behind Spider House (you need to enter the outdoor seating part of Spider House to get here). What a gem! So delicious! I got the seasonal eggnog shake and it came with a super tasty and adorable aquafaba meringue. If you are a vegan or otherwise cant do dairy, this is a must visit!

Amazing!!! These shakes are so yummy! Ive tried a good sample of the shakes they offer, and each one has been fantastic and worth every penny. Ive introduced a friend from out of town to these and every time she visits she insists we stop to get a vegan milkshake from Milky Way. Almost all of their shakes are gluten free too, and they can easily make substitutions!

This place was so phenomenal. Absolutely stunning. It is tucked away in Spider house so I consider it a hidden gem. As a vegan, this milk shake was the best I had ever had because it didn’t leave me feeling stuffed at the end. I recommend getting a large because you are going to want more. The presentation of the shakes was so cool and unique. The purple ones on the right are The Silver Dollar and the one on the left is the Oreo Borealis. Both equally amazing. Come here if you are looking for a vegan pick me up!

When their customer service goes out the window because your mask has slipped under your nose, not my cup of tea. Shes wearing a mask as well as behind glass, calm down I was putting my mask up, it doesnt mean you should be rude to customers either. But more importantly, the shake wasnt very good. It was watery and the chunks of brownie tasted old.

I love everything. Its the most delish milkshake Ive ever had and made so special with the glittery meringue touches. Swoooooon I had a magical glittery shroom on top of mine, and Im surprised fairies werent dancing around it, and surprised a gnome didnt pop out of it. Im so in love. All I wanted after moving from Portland into the Texas heat was a vegan milkshake and the rad worker at Rabbit Food told me about this cart, and it literally made me glow like a [censored] star all day just thinking about how cute and special it was. I gave the shroom to my daughter to devour because she deserves to eat such magical and made with love treats. You are the best Milkyway.

I really liked that all of the options were vegan. they had unique flavors to choose from and they were extremely tasty. i learned about the star-berry lemon cloud shake via the do 512 apps recommendation and it was well worth it.

Vegan or not you will not find anything better tasting in town, the creativity and care used to create their menu is tops and the presentation for these gourmet shakes is just beautiful. I cannot recommend them enough. Truly one of Austin’s finest! Every single item on their menu is delicious, trust me, I’ve tried them all (over and over)

Incredible vegan milkshake truck. They make their own ice cream base for their shakes as well as delicious accessories like the hard cockeye chocolate pentagram on the Grackle Massacre or the cookie, caramel topper on the Vanilla Super Moon. (Full disclosure: Im in a band with one of the owners but my review is accurate nonetheless)

This was the best shake Ive ever had, and the evening ambiance at Spider House was the perfect setting. (They have an agreement with Spider House, so you are super welcome to sit there with your milkshake.) Fantastic resource for vegans who love sugar and deliciousness, and Im guessing your non-vegan friends wont even notice theyre eating plants.

WOWZAAA! These shakes are out of this world. When my boyfriend and I first discovered this food trailer, we went twice during the work week. It doesn’t have that typical strong coconut taste that a lot of vegan ice cream has. So creamy and delicious without the guilt and unhealthiness of dairy!

Milk shakes were amazing...but the service was awful! The woman working the truck was very rude when my friends and I were asking questions as it was our first time there. She seemed mad at the world. Besides that, I would recommend the milk shakes 100%.

Took two friends there who are not vegan 1) they didnt know the difference; 2) they thought the shakes were amazing; 3) the shakes were all eaten very quickly.
