Its a great dance studio in Austin area! Ive participated in two of their show cases, attended multiple group classes and was on a West Coast Swing Dance Team for a season. I love their teachers. The space is beautiful with multiple dance floors

Ive taken dance lessons in a few different places based on what was near me when I moved. Go Dance Studio was the best of the places Ive been. It was a great value, particularly the group lessons. I think I learned more per minute here than anywhere else Ive taken lessons, and a lot more per dollar. Another thing I thoroughly appreciated was that they didnt pressure you into anything or try to upsell. I took both private lessons and group lessons, and I felt like they appreciated the fact I was paying for private lessons and tried to make those lessons valuable, but they definitely were okay with people just paying for and taking group lessons, or with people spending more total time in group lessons than private lessons.

After a couple of failed attempts at trying to learn to dance “out in the wild” at dance halls, I realized I needed a lot of help. A friend had seen Go Dance in passing, and on a whim without any research, I went online and booked the New Student Special (but they also take walk-ins). Best impulse decision ever. Both students and staff are fun, friendly, supportive & genuinely care about you, plus the instructors are quite accomplished so you are learning from the best. There are multiple chances to take group classes throughout the week between the north and south locations, and the studio also hosts various socials and workshops to help hone your skills. No one ever really mentions the side effects of dancing: weight loss, confidence boost, new friends and an expanded social life. When someone notices a positive change in me I always tell them - Go Dance!

My wife got me a free dance lesson for my birthday back in January. Were both in our 50s and have never taken dancing classes. Didnt know if Id like it, but we both really like taking lessons with Juan -- hes the best. Im sure we dont advance as fast as other students, but Juan is really patient with us and makes sure we master our steps before introducing us to new routines. Were having a blast and plan to keep taking lessons until they pick us for one of those dancing with the stars shows! My wife got me a free dance lesson for my birthday back in January. We took the Social Survival Honky Tonk Class (it is one approx. 3 hour class. It was just basic steps and a couple of line dances, but perfect as a beginner or as a refresher if you have been off the dance floor for a while. They do a good job of teaching the steps. You do learn to do turns, which goes a long way to making dancing more fun. You can go with a friend or on your own. Everyone switches partners every few minutes in a round robin fashion, so everyone dances with multiple partners so you can get a feel for the way different people dance. Bought if for my husband, who hasnt danced in a hundred years and says he has no rhythm. Now I can at least get him out on the floor, even if he will never be Fred Astaire!

Amazing dance studio. All the instructors are extremely talented and helpful to people of all ages and skill. They have lots of group classes every week in many dance styles. It can be pricey, especially for college students, but the instructors are worth it

I have been taking lessons at Go Dance South for the past year and I absolutely love the people and instructors here. Prior to taking lessons, I had taken a variety social dance class through UT Austins social dance program, but classes at Go Dance really helped me improve technique and expand my knowledge about dancing in general. Their new student special is definitely worth it, especially if you can do a lot of group classes. I did group classes for two months and have been doing private lessons every other week with Juan for the past 11 months due to time constraints. Juan is great knowing many dances and being able to break down the movements so that I can learn things easily or work towards improving a technique that I have been struggling in. Our private lessons are usually a combination of me asking questions, practice, and learning new material. In addition to that, I sometime switch up what type of dances that we focus on for fun (I focus on west coast swing but occasionally ask about other dances or practice some two-step).Compared to other dance studios that I have gone to for lessons or socials, the people here are very friendly and welcoming to people of all ages and levels of dance experience. I would say that Go Dance has a focus on becoming a better dancing and having fun in the process whereas some other studios focus more on technique or solely getting better.

I dont live in Austin any longer, but I sure wish I did, just so I could take more dance classes here! I came here on a Saturday evening for a free group class they were offering. They advertised for singles or couples to join, so me and my husband went as a date night. It was so much fun and really gets you out of your comfort zone as you actually rotate partners! Hence the reason why the concept is also a good idea for singles! We seriously had a great time and we learned some new dances! They taught us intros to Swing Dancing, Bachata and Texas 2-Step.The staff were super accommodating and so energetic, they are also very talented and passionate about dancing!I would highly recommend you see them whenever the jitter bug hits you and you want to get those feet moving!

Its a awesome place to learn how to dance. You can come for the socials and dance the night away and build community. They have classes for the absolute beginners to the advanced.

The lessons were good, you can tell the teachers are very experienced, but they are not very willing to help or explain steps more. Maybe they were trying to speed things up in the interest of time..I’m not sure. And they claim the social dance is “open to all levels,” but if you’re a beginner? Forget about it. There’s this sense that if you don’t know many steps and you’re still trying to get the hang of things, expect people to be condescending to you and not accommodating or understanding at all. Not a very supportive environment.

My fiancee and myself didnt like to dance but we wanted to do something special for our wedding. The instruction we received from Katrina Repka was top-notch and we are very confident in our routine. It was a great experience for self-conscious beginners like us!

Bought an intro month for my sweetie and me. One of the best things I have ever done. We ended up taking private lessons with Juan Barraza, a patient and thorough teacher, and now a few months later we are burnin it up. And....it just keeps getting better. And....for me it did not come naturally, if you know what I mean.

Go Dance is a fantastic studio! I went there knowing nothing about dance, and the environment was extremely welcoming and supportive. I started taking private lessons from Reginald Beason, who helped me decide on West Coast Swing as my primary focus. Ive made great strides in only 7 months, and placed in Newcomer during my second competition, and it was primarily thanks to Reggie. I highly recommend him for anyone that wants to learn WCS, and I look forward to continuing my dance journey at Go Dance with him. The entire staff is awesome, and I have had a blast with group classes and the weekly socials.

I took from GoDance in 2012 until personal events overwhelmed me. I just started back December 2015. They have improved their curriculum since then. My biggest difficulty in 2012 was that the jump from Beginner classes to Intermediate classes was pretty difficult. Today, they seem to have added another level of Intermediate instruction that does not overwhelm me. There seems to be an agenda at this Second level to break down the new moves and make sure the class attendees all get before moving on. I, for one, really appreciate this supportive environment.

We went here with some friends for Salsamania a couple of weekends ago. It was a lot of fun. The price was ok at $15 but not at $25 (cost for adding special lessons). One thing I can say is that I felt like the dance floor was large enough that there was room enough to dance without worrying about stepping on or getting stepped on. We looked at going here for lessons a few years back but recall it was an expensive proposition so maybe well just settle for the occasional outing here if invited by friends.
