Definitely one of the most iconic places in whole Austin. A huge eclectic shop in a relatively quite corner of downtown. They make great hot & iced coffees, smoothies. No validation for parking so you either should pay premium rear parking or find a spot around. I’m not into biking but this is probably an oasis for those who are 🚲

Came to the bike shop with my girlfriend to buy a tire and stopped by the coffee shop to see if anything looked tempting. We are from Miami so we asked the guys at the coffee shop for a recommendation around town. As two of the employees tried to help, LEO interrupted and said to us ladies Have you heard of google? or the internet? its stated around 1990.- with a very nasty attitude- I could not believe this guy was seriously saying that and asked him to repeat and LEO had the balls to do so.Sorry, not stepping foot here ever again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. No one deserves this type of service. And as for management, they should reconsider this employee.

Horrible experience. They take your money and allow you to buy food and beverages but wont let you to go inside to use the bathroom. Employee cites the owner has a lot of expensive stuff in the store so they cannot let people in before 11:00 a.m.I guess they need to figure out their process to allow people to use the bathroom when they purchase food and drinks. So they are losing my business. So theyre happy to take your money and then treat you like garbage

Juan Pelota is a great little spot located within Mellow Johnnys Bike Shop. It is located in a wonderful spot downtown. On a nice day, there is a small patio where you can sit out and enjoy people watching. Watching the bikers come in from long rides is fun, too!Everyone at Juan Pelota is friendly and kind. They welcome people & dogs of all walks of life :)They offer breakfast tacos until they run out, as well as sweet baked goods that are a nice treat. One thing of note is their chai tea latte is not very chai-y. It has more of a berry taste to it, and is not what youd expect if you order chai teas elsewhere. Wouldnt order it again from here but would definitely return for the snacks, ambiance and welcoming staff!

This is a great cafe located in an Austin bike shop. The coffee is top notch. Normally I don’t try flavored lattes but they had a special one called the Azteca latte with chocolate and cayenne pepper and it was so incredibly well done - not too sweet and not overpowering in anyway. They’ve got plenty of seating and outlets if you come here to work. The vibe is really great because the ceilings are high and they have glass doors that open up onto the street. Also, don’t forget to try the breakfast tacos because they are also really good and they will hit the spot.Definitely a place I would come to hang out, meet up for coffee with someone, or just buckle down and get some work done.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Austin and it might be the smells of the rubber in the bike shop in the same building that keeps me coming. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the simplicity of this space. While I wouldnt say this is where I go for artisan roasted coffee with expensive milk, etc - Im also not always looking for that. If youre downtown and just want a coffee and a not too loud place to have conversation - consider Juan Pelota (and the name makes me giggle - because Im apparently immature)

Shame about the parking. Ive visited here a few times while passing through Austin. The cafe has good coffee, and I enjoy browsing the fancy bikes and sometimes buying a new multitool. I was going to visit again but when I pulled into the lot I saw it was now paid parking. This was a rainy Saturday afternoon and the lot was almost empty. There were no signs saying how much parking cost, but when I got to the kiosk it was $2/hour. I would understand paying that if the lot was almost full, but I can tell now why it was empty.Rather than pay that much for the privilege of buying coffee I got back in my car and went elsewhere. I hope they will introduce (better?) dynamic pricing that doesnt keep their lot empty.

Hooray for places like Juan Pelota Cafe. Serving tasty coffee with delicious pastries and awesome smoothies. For a short time I was up super early to go swimming and this was the only place I could grab coffee on my way back home from the pool. Oh, and its connected to the best bike shop in town (Mellow Johnnys)

This place looked nice from the outside but it definitely wasnt great as a coffee shop overall. The staff are pretty nice, but its more a stop for the people coming in for the biking shop. Speaking of which, the smell of rubber from the bike shop makes enjoying your coffee a bit difficult. I also wasnt a big fan of the cinnamon roll since it broke apart much too easily for one to eat - is the glaze supposed to be crunchy? Also, not really a big deal to me but worth noting to some - wifi is a bit slow.

I wish they never played punk music. Other than that this place is great. They have showers for cyclists in the adjoining bike shop. They have great coffee and tea, solid WiFi, indoor and outdoor seating, and some snack options like, croissants, yogurt, muffins and fancy chocolate.
