Every time I go into this store and look for something I’m told the same thing we have it but I just haven’t put it out yet. When are they going to start putting things out. It’s sad because this is the closest location to me but it looks like I’m going to have to take that drive if it means I can get what I need.

Quick place to go get some essentials without the hassle of a bigger store. And prices are good. A little of everything for everyone in your family or group.

Don’t make a special trip to get here for digital coupons because they don’t honor digital coupons even after spending several minutes loading their app. Sign on shelf says X amount off with digital coupon and no limit mentioned, but the cashier didn’t even try to process it at first, but when I objected, he said, “Oh, you have to download the app or go to the website and register your phone number.” So I downloaded the app, followed the cumbersome steps, and then they wouldn’t honor more than one coupon. So then I tried a second transaction, and nope, still no additional coupon allowed. Then a second cashier speculated (but didn’t know for certain) that “maybe it’s just one coupon per manufacturer.” Yeah? Well then put that on the shelf sign!

Usually have stuff that I need to get by till I get to the actual groceries. crowded aisle cause they always have those dollies in the way.

Had exactly what I wanted, hardly a wait to checkout, friendly staff. Love DG

Easy to shop and almost always had toilet paper during covid-19

Manager at Austin/WestGate & Wm. Cannon wearing her mask below her nose. She even saw me look at her and kept it pulled down as she walked around the store. I talked to the clerk, stating I’d be happy to report if he felt uncomfortable. He went to her and I hid on the other aisle. She was angry and gave the equivalent of a verbal eye roll. Also gave me the side eye at the front when I left. Next time I’m making a complaint to Corporate.

Always well stocked. Has paper products when H.E.B is out.

I was familiar with the Dollar General brand. I had seen many stores in small Texas towns when traveling but had never shopped in one. One day we needed just a couple of small items and my wife suggested we stop at Dollar General. The items are priced reasonably especially the Dollar General branded items. It is much cheaper than stopping at a convenience store but just a easy for a quick buying trip when you dont want to deal with a big box store like HEB, etc. The staff is always very friendly & helpful. I would recommend this store to anyone who wants to buy a few items quickly at a reasonable price.

My go to spot when dont feel like going to the grocery store

I always find something that I didnt know I needed at Dollar General. The store on William Cannon and West Gate Blvd has a helpful and friendly staff. Since they remodeled the store it seems like it has more products and they way the store is now arranged makes it much easier to find something you are looking for. New lighting makes it bright and clean looking.

Well stocked for a quickie store

The most god awful store in Austin. Needs to be cleaned and organized. Possibly demolished. Will not go back and I am embarrassed to have even gone inside. What happened to retail ?

Good place to go if you need something quick...most of the time. If theres someone in front of you with multiple items, the get it quick part goes south pretty quick. Bad thing- if you push the yes button to get cash while making a purchase, they charge a $1.50 cash back fee. Kind of a racket in my opinion.

If you know what you are looking for and are an avid couponer this place can be a Favorite, place is clean and organized but sometimes doesnt have the items advertised

This Dollar General is in a strip mall and is a smaller store. It seems to carry everything the other stand alone Dollar Gens, just smaller aisles. The staff is always nice and helpful.

Clean and easy to find things here. There is plenty of parking and the staff were nice.

Carmen, our cashier was very friendly. She asked questions and answered our questions and held a genuine conversago on with my sister and I. She told me about items I was looking at and told me which ones she had tried. Overall experience was very good.

Ive always liked Dollar General they have some pretty good deals and I always go in there to get my potpourri wax they usually have a very good selection and I love their candles and of course odds and end things that you need for the house

Overall I like Dollar General because I usually can find what I went for however the last two trips I have made within this week I have experienced expired dates on food items. The first was with corn meal that my husband bought and made corn bread with. It tasted awful. While looking at the package thinking he missed a step or ingredient I saw the package had a expiration date of two years ago. I returned that package and was able to get another that still has two months to go. Then on another day I went to purchase dehydrated onion soup mix and all of those package expired several months ago. Staff handled the situation both times with apologies and pulled the product off the shelves. Staff needs to check dates when straightening and make sure to place new products behind the older ones. All Dollar Generals are different but this one seems to have more candles than others. The staff was very friendly. The management here was very understanding on price changing and helped us solve a problem.

This place is poorly run. Has been since it opened. Today they charged my card, told me it didnt go through, kept my items, then voided the transaction after i left. hopefully. I called my bank and they told me to ve vigilant. walked over from my house in the rain to be jerked around. 100% Done shopping here.

One cash register open but two or three people working at the cash register come on someone have to have that good customer service to change this have a sign that says closed on the other line then counts your money up front you should count your money in the office thats professional not in the open where you can get robbed.

This place was like a mini Wal-Mart. They had everything. The shelves were cluttered and some were unorganized though. The staff was very friendly.
