My mom was in town for only 2 days, so we decided a fun activity would be to do the cooking class. We paid the $70 each and made the reservations online. We show up and when we get there they say they don’t have us on their list, because apparently we signed up too late? But they said to get an apron and name tag and started setting us up. They said they would fit us in.5 minutes later a different person comes in and announces to the whole class “who are the three ladies who’s names were not on the list?” We raise our hands. “You three need to leave sorry we don’t actually have enough food prepared for you.” So we pack up and head out the door while everyone stared at us. It was so embarrassing.Once we get to the front of the store, they say a half hearted sorry and that their computer system is “updating” and it should not have let us sign up? So they say they will refund us. We say “ok we understand that technology messes up sometimes. But we would have planned something else had we not been able to get in the class, so essentially you ruined one of only two days we had with our mom in town.” We asked if we could at least get a free or discounted class for the future and they basically said no sorry. He said that “he works a lot so if we call to sign up next time we should probably be able to get a 20% off because that’s the normal discount they give for the second class you sign up for.” But he didn’t give us a voucher or anything to redeem it so I don’t feel confident that will be followed through on.Overall - I feel they could have handled the situation completely differently. From my experience, Sur la table does not have very good customer service.

Visited for my second cooking class and had a great time. Had a lot of fun trying new recipes. The chef was really helpful, knowledgeable, and fun! I highly recommend these classes!Only downside to the visit was the IT department. Tried to sign up for another class in store for a discount and the computer wasnt working. There wasnt a back up plan that included the discount and IT couldnt help. Sad way to end the visit.

This review is for cooking class put on by Chef Abigail. In summary: an amazing experience that included fantastic food, great company, and expert chef guidance. Sur la Table and Chef Abigail put on many different themed cooking classes, which we attended to celebrate our anniversary. From the booking process all the way to leaving at the end of the evening, the experience was awesome. We spent two hours in a fully-equipped kitchen learning about how to put together a delicious meal alongside a fun and interesting group of people. It is a social event with collaboration encouraged. The wine and cheese definitely helped everyone relax and have a great time! If you are looking for a fun yet educational evening in the kitchen, this should definitely be on your list. Thank you Chef Abigail!

The worst customer service ever! Bought a cooking class a month ago, 2 days before class got and email that we were moved to another date. But we work that day and wouldn’t be able to come. But Sur la table doesn’t care about customers, they moved us because of private event, which obviously brings them more money. After all, they refuse to refund since I paid cash, only force me to take their gift card and spend it in their store. But after such terrible service I don’t want to buy anything there. It looks like scam, they just simply stole my money.

After lots of praise from family members, my fiancé and I decided to do a registry here. When we came to the store the person at the front took us to the computer to help get a registry set up. She then sent us on our way to find items. Being recent college graduates we didn’t know a lot about cookware and were seeking some advice. The scanner was constantly not scanning items and we could not find any employees to help us out. Every employee we approached seemed to not notice us and appear to busy to help. The two that we did ask questions seemed annoyed by the face that we were asking things like the pros and cons of different brands of pans. We even had one guy after asking the difference between pans tell us that the ones we were looking at seemed out of our price range and take us to the cheapest pots and pans. When we asked us there was a set we could see to see what all was included, he quickly grabbed one for the back and took it to the register. We informed him that he had midunderstood and we were doing a registry (hence the scanner in my hand) and he became obviously irritated and didn’t want to help us anymore. After all of this we decided to leave after adding only 3 items to our registry. We could not find an employee to give the scanner to so we went and put it back in the cabinet ourselves. When we finally saw the lady who had helped us start we let her know we had put it away, and she stared at us for a second then turned around, not saying a single word. We walked out of the store without anyone ever asking if we needed help, had any issues with the registry, or anything of that nature.) Total disappointment after we were so excited to come and check the store out.

This is a really nice store with some great supplies, pricey. Also they have some great cooking and baking classes, I attended their macaroon class and it was really very good.

I brought some knives to this location for sharpening and was told that they would be ready within a week. Two weeks later (and no contact from Sur La Table), I went back in to check and they said their machine was broken. I was told to wait for a manager and after over 10 minutes of being ignored I left. Terrible service and communication!
