We were referred to Scott and his team by the only car shop we trust with our vehicles. Once our car was with them, they went above and beyond to give us quality service and make sure we had our car back as soon as was possible. Scott answered our many questions and was never rude or dismissive towards us. He talked us through our options and pricing. He was thorough, caring, and professional. We needed a full transmission rebuild and he kept us up to date on the repair as it was coming along. Our car was washed, vacuumed, and running wonderfully when we picked it up. We believe this shop is trustworthy and will take great care of you and your car. The only downside to the repair of our SUV here was that it seemed costly. But we think it was worth it to know the work was being done right, and it came with a 3 year or 50,000 mile warranty.

After I experienced a jarring shake from our transmission when shifting from drive to reverse, I immediately parked my car to prevent further damage to what seemed like a clear transmission problem. I had my Ford Fusion towed to Leif Johnson Ford’s service department. The following day I received a call from my “Service Agent” to inform me that my transmission had suffered a fatal breakdown and would need to be replaced at a cost of $6,048. Our “Service Agent” assured us that the car had been physically inspected, and the computer readout indicated that without a doubt the transmission had completely failed and needed to be replaced.Fortunately for me, my wife is not as trusting as I am. She asked me to look for a transmission shop, to get a second opinion. I noticed Eagle Transmission’s high review marks and told’ed I was sending the car over to them. LJF charged me $160 for diagnosing the car before I could have it towed away. I did not tell Eagle Transmission what was wrong with the car. Just that I was having an issue with the transmission. The following day I received a call from Scott, from ET. He informed me that the transmission had been inspected and nothing was wrong with it! Apparently the car had arrived at ET with my receipt for the diagnosis from LJF communicating their assessment of a catastrophic transmission failure. Scott informed me that he was aware of LJF’s diagnosis, but that the car had been out on an extensive test drive and their computer was not identifying any issues. (Scott did find a minor leak that he said we could fix, or wait till it became a more pressing issue, but that $325 leak could wait.) In disbelief I asked Scott to hold the car for a day, and test drive it the following day. The next day I received a call informing me that the car had been out on another extended drive and nothing was wrong with it. (The jarring shake I experienced that day, has not happened again. I have now been driving the car for over a week.)I am well aware that Eagle Transmission could have told me that indeed I needed a new transmission, and sold me literally nothing! The sign at Eagle Transmission reads. Eagle Transmission - The one to trust.” What an accurate description of their business!Eagle Transmission has a client for life in, and an active marketer in me. This is the transmission review you want to read: 20,000 miles and a year and a half later, still running perfect.The transmission went out in my beat up old Saturn Ion and I managed to get it to their shop. They were able to look at it promptly and let me know what had gone wrong — it was a lot of stuff. They told me they would be able to fix it for somewhere in the mid-high $2000s depending on what they needed to replace. At that point I thought about just junking the car entirely but decided to go through with the repair. Once they got into it they found a lot of electrical damage and ended up having to rebuild the entire transmission. They gave me a call and let me know, but since they had quoted me high $2000s they told me they would honor that and just discount the labor. On that call they were actually apologizing that it would have to be ready a day later while they waited on a part. I wasnt in an hurry anyway and they had it ready in a very reasonable time.Now Ive dealt with a fair share of mechanics and Ive never had as positive of an experience as with these guys.Welcoming, communicative, and understanding — all at a great price. The work they did was above and beyond and I just hit 150k miles in a car that shouldve been dead at 130k if it werent for Eagle Transmission North Austin. I cant recommend this place enough. Eagle was recommended to us by Landcruiser Specialists for transmission diagnistic and repair after the Toyota dealership told us it would be over $6k for a shudder problem on our 07 4Runner. They completed the work ahead of schedule and for over 1000 less and were a pleasure to work with. I hope we do not need to see them again for another 200+k miles, but would certainly be my first call the next time we have any transmission problems.

These guys were amazing when my clutch went out on the highway Friday morning. Got it towed over and they looked at it the same day. When we realized it needed to be a new clutch they were able to get the clutch in Monday and fix it by Tuesday. Very accommodating and quick to help. Very friendly people who treat their customers with respect.

I was having transmission issues and was suggested to go to a transmission shop, so I picked this one from Google Maps. I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly Scott was and how straightforward he was about the status of the repair. Scott was patient to explain the details of my cars condition and transparent with whether they had the issue pinpointed or not. Ive only had a few interactions with auto shops, and Id say that this one has been the best so far.

Had to take my vehicle in for two separate issues and both times were positive experiences. It sucks spending money on repairing or maintaining your vehicle, but Scott is a fair dude who is great at communicating. I hope I never see these guys again but I would recommend them to anyone dealing with transmission issues.

Clean shop that does excellent work run by friendly and professional people. It only took a week for these guys to completely rebuild the transmission in my 85 Chevy Blazer. They stayed in contact with me throughout the entire build, showed me what was wrong and sent me pictures of the rebuild process. Very reasonable prices, they fully explain what needs to be done and how much it costs. They offered me financing on the work they did on my truck so I could afford it while I was moving out of my apartment, I couldnt have done it without their help. I am not one who normally does reviews . I do all my mechanic work and maintenance so I was apprehensive about letting anyone work on my vehicles. I am pretty picky and particular about who and what I allow to be done by others to my vehicles. Unfortunately with the technology in todays cars I was faced with needing a transmission repair shop. Eagle Transmission on Buell was recommended to me from a trusted shop I have used in the past since they didnt do transmission work. I have been very impressed by the cleanliness of the shop area where the actual mechanic work is done, the staff, the owners Scott and Dan. They worked hard to solve a unusual and complicated issue on our transmission that would be intermittent , no codes and hard to duplicate . Based on our research together we were able to make the decision on a plan of action and fixed the problem. Car has run flawlessly since repair and better than it has ever ran since we owned it. I as a DIY mechanic I was also impressed in the cleanliness and condition of transmission area under the car after all the work was done. No left over oil spillage or mess. Clean as it was when brought in. Hard to tell it had been completely taken apart. Attention to detail was awesome. This shop and its staff are stand up guys and a rarity in the transmission repair industry. I recommend everyone I can to them and will only take my vehicles to them for transmission work.

I have had the privilege of knowing Scott and Dan for many years. The quality of the service provided by Eagle Transmission is undoubtedly a reflection of the business they are running. I have had two personal experiences in which Eagle Transmission was able to go out of their way to make sure I had a safe and serviceable vehicle to drive. Both of these happened while I was still a student at Texas State University in San Marcos.1. I had a 5 speed Ford Mustang that had some regular scheduled maintenance come up on it (clutch and resurfaced flywheel). The owner at the time, Dan, understood that I was a student and didnt want to put me in a position that would make me more financially constrained. He replaced my clutch and resurfaced my flywheel essentially at cost which saved me more than $500 (a lot of money for a poor college student).2. Some time later, while I was still a college student, I had problems with my vehicle overheating. I knew that mechanics have a tendency to overcharge if they lack basic ethics. Since I already had conducted business with Eagle, I called up Dan and within the day he had my car on a flat bed and in the garage at a local San Marcos mechanic that he regularly worked with. The repair was done quickly and at a reasonable cost thanks to the network established by Eagle Transmission.Now a days Scott (Dans son) has taken over daily operations of the shop and is working very long hours to continue the reputation Eagle has earned over the years.In a nutshell, do NOT be afraid to take your vehicle here if you need transmission work or a referral to a general mechanic for unscheduled or scheduled maintenance. I had a great experience, I took my car in because I thought I was having transmission trouble. They ran all sorts of tests on my car and told me my transmission was fine. They also took me home for the 4 hours it took to run the tests and picked me up from home to pick up my car.If I ever have transmission problem I know where Im taking my car. Also I was charged nothing for the tests.

These guys are great! Needed the clutch replaced on my Subaru and they did an amazing job. I received regular update calls and everyone was always super friendly and helpful. Scott worked with me on the price and the final bill was significantly less than what Subaru wanted to charge. The clutch now feels buttery smooth and even better than the day I bought it! Ty the mechanic was even there when I picked it up to tell me how the install went and answered any questions I had. Very pleased with this company. This is the second time I have used them in 5 years and the service and attitude are second to none. Straight forward communication about what was wrong with my transmission, a reasonable estimate of the time it would take, then they beat that time frame. The real bonus? I had a bit of an emergency with my classic car. Brandon at the front desk arranged a tow straight away and they quickly diagnosed the problem. I went to pick up the car and had a bit of a problem right after I drove away. They sent their mechanic to have a look. They took the car back in and made adjustments. Since then everything has been perfect.Obviously some people might be angry if you had a problem right after picking it up but I found the way they dealt with the problem very refreshing. They took it back and fine tuned some adjustments. My transmission problem was not straight forward and the fact that they needed some extra time did not bother me at all.The owner became involved and he gave me the impression that they are all about getting it right and making sure the customer is satisfied. He made me feel like that he cares about his customers by seeing my point of view and responding to all of my questions with very reasonable answers. I would not hesitate to use Eagle again.

I had a drivetrain problem with my truck. I was on the side of the road and didnt know for sure what the problem was. The person in the truck with me said that hed had his vehicle there for a transmission problem and recommended them. I gave them a call and explained my situation. This was around 1 in the afternoon. They sent a tow truck out and had my truck back to their shop and diagnosed in just a few hours. They called and told me what it was and what it would take to fix it. They gave me an estimate and I told them to go ahead with the repairs. They were able to get the parts, repair it, and get it back to me the next afternoon and at a fair price. I would definitely recommend them. Great job and thank you for your help!!

Nobody wants to deal with car issues but Eagle Transmission helped me and my high mileage 1996 truck. They were professional and prompt. They quickly determined that instead of rebuilding my transmission they should replace it as the more economical option. Within a day of receiving the replacement transmission they had it installed and working great. The even washed my truck making it look as good as it was in 2005!

Eagle Transmission helped us out with a new transmission and radiator in our oldest work truck that has towed trailers its whole life. Robert and Scott are professional and knowledgeable. I will be returning to Eagle Transmission when I need more repairs in the future!

After having a horrible experience at another transmission shop, I took my car to Eagle Transmission and had a great experience. The first shop unplugged my transmission to simulate a transmission failure. Eagle re-plugged my transmission without charge and the car drives well now. Eagle could have lied to me and said I needed work done and then charged me for it, but instead they were very helpful and honest. I recommend this shop and encourage anyone needing transmission work to look farther down the alphabet than “AA”.

I took an old car in that had never had transmission service, and they looked it over with no charge. The best part is that they said that I shouldnt do service right now because the fluid was too dirty. The build up on the walls could break loose and float around in there causing the transmission to go bad. Im planning to drive to Colorado next week, so it would have super sucked if my transmission failed on that road trip. They got nothing but this review for their effort today. I will be taking better care of my transmissions going forward, and Eagle Transmission has gained my trust. Make sure you go there if you have any doubts about who to trust.

These guys are great! They redid the transmission in my 98 Dodge 2500 4x4. All I can say is awesome prices, and awesome work! They had it done way before I thought they would. They were actually waiting on me at the end to get the money to them and pick it up. I also like that they ask you to come back after 2 weeks or so to let them check everything out again, just to assure you will be good to go for a long time! Would recommend them to anyone!

I took my car because I had a hard time pushing in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. They ran diagnostic and told me the engineceas misfiring and I should have that fixed; maybe that will solve the clutch problem. Did not charge me anything; great guys.

The transmission was not shifting on my old Nissan Maxima (1997). After talking to friends and reading reviews on the net, I called up Scott at Eagle Transmission. Scott told me that he can do a free diagnosis after which he determined that i needed a new transmission. He was honest enough to ask me if i really wanted to pay for a transmission on a really old car. We went over several options (various price points) and he mentioned that if i could get a transmission, then he would do the install and it would save me money as he would not have to spend his time hunting for a transmission.After i ordered the transmission via ebay, the transmission arrived damaged in transit. Scott took some photos and patiently explained to me why it would not be a good idea for him to install the transmission. He even spent a lot of his time explaining to the ebay seller why it would not be in my best interest for him to use the transmission as is. He made multiple calls and was the main reason why the ebay seller returned my money (he did not want to repay it back)..Scott also repacked the transmission and sent it back. He need not have done all of this. So i very much appreciate his efforts and his help. Thank you very much!!After the car was in his shop for about 5 weeks (he did not say a single word about this) we got another transmission (he helped choose the best transmission based on the pictures of a few transmissions that i shortlisted) and he installed it. The car is now running smoothly without a problem.Overall, i am very happy with the outstanding customer service and the help that Scott at Eagle Transmission (Buell Ave) provided and will reccomend him very highly.The ebay seller who sold me the first transmission kept telling me that his transmission was fine and Scott was picky and expensive. I told the seller that I want my repair shop to be picky (it is in my best interest) and on the matters of cost, looking back, i am glad that i paid what i paid to Scott and would not go to any other place even if it was cheaper. (i am not sure if he is expensive in the first place). The quality of service that i experienced coupled with the peace of mind was fantastic and worth every single penny i paid.Given that we have very few honest people in this business, trust is extremely important to me. So if you are like me, then you will love this shop. Another friend was told that his transmission needed replacing which Scott diagnosed to be an axle issue and saved my friend a ton of money. (not sure if the gent has written up a review or not?)After going through my experience, i now understand why he is so highly rated. All i can say is Thank you Scott!! and with your service, you have gained one more customer and i will do my best to spread the word around about your outstanding customer service!!BTW, this is my first review and i felt that this is the least i can do to express my thanks (had to spend a bit of time trying to post google reviews -- you have to first rate the business before you do the write up else the post button is greyed out in google review)

Good work, honest communication, and a fair price.

Had transmission worked on at Eagle and paid close to $2k with 3yr warranty but only lasted 3yr 5mths so they offered a $100 discount. What a Insult and if you want a trany that will last 3yrs this is the place.Wow - Horrible
