Currently going through a large re-landscaping of my yard and had somebody recommend to visit BBQ Outfitters. For large purchases, I will usually pre-shop a bit so I can look around, get a feel for customer service, etc. so I went in and inquired about a natural gas fire pit. Was immediately told there were none in inventory and so I asked was it possible to see something to order. I was told I should just use a propane tank and convert it so I asked to see what they had available. Nothing. Thats not a problem at all, but there was no interest in helping answer my question(s) or guide me in the right direction. Finally, the man at the counter said, you could go with a wood fire pit (this after telling him I had the connection and want a natural gas one) so I looked at him and asked, how would you convert that? His answer, do you think I can convert wood to wood?We drove over an hour to get there and our interaction lasted about 1 min with no desire to help. Now, mind you, I understand if you are busy, its the end of the day and youre closing up or an other many reasons to not be helpful. That said, we were the only ones in the entire place and it was 45 min before closing time.Ill take my money and pay for an outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and all kinds of accessories somewhere else that wants to have a conversation with their customer and is interested in solving their needs.

Our experience was phenomenal. Brian was our primary contact, but everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Brian gave us a great overview of all products and helped us narrow down what we wanted, then he drew up the design for our contractor to use. He gave us lots of options and supported us throughout. When one product came in a little damaged, he worked to get a replacement in quickly to avoid delays in construction. We are very happy with the products and the support received from Brian and his team. Cannot recommend enough!

Wow where to start. This place has some of the best costumer service for the stuff they sell. I have purchased a large green egg and a couple Weber’s grills from them in the past. I had another company’s product and even though BBQ outfitters did not sell me this particular item, since I was a previous customer they still helped me out with the warranty. The back office crew helped me out with everything. I did send some pictures of the broken areas on the items and everything was done on email and phone. I didn’t even have to go in to get this taken care of.I even purchased all new parts that where not covered under warranty and they helped me out with making sure everything was in working order and I had everything I wanted. After all is said and done I had a new working product that I thought I would have to just replace everything on it. Saved me money and time!!! I paid for delivery as well on a warranty item and the delivery guys put it all together to make it work as good as new.So you can trust that if you purchase or purchased a item from BBQ outfitters, you will be a customer for life and not just during the purchase time.They are busy there and if you have to call back a few times, they will get to you. I did leave a message a couple times and eventually got a call back. I did hang up and call back a few times when I needed a immediate question answered. But when they answered, they took the time to answer all my needs.Anyway get yourself to BBQ outfitters and do some cooking!!! Your stomach and your family will love it!!

Just received my third big order from Steven and the team at BBQ Outfitters, a Challenger Design Torch 76 for my KJ Classic II previously purchased at BBQ Outfitters. With COVID impacting deliveries, I want to thank Steven for the great job in the communication he provided in terms of the status of the order and delays made by the manufacturer. They did a great job in saving the sale, and we are thrilled with our outdoor kitchen set up. I had purchased the Blaze grill and another Challenger Series five years ago from these guys, and the service and delivery I received yesterday is just as good as it was on that other order five years ago! Can’t recommend these guys enough!

New to the Austin area and we have always been interested in purchasing a Big Green Egg. Spoke with Chris at BBQ outfitters who was very informative and took the time to explain differences between BGE and similar brands. Very relaxed atmosphere and great place to peruse if you’re on the fence for making such an investment like we were.

Nice people who want to help you and share advice. Call them up and ask a question on something you just bought, and eager to assist. Loading your car up, two people come out and do it all asking what else they can do. With price matching, good options, and high service, they have everything you need but $300 grills that rust out in 2 years. You need to go to a big box store for those.

Love this place! I stop in to pick up smoking chunks and charcoal quite often. They have basically every wood you could ever want to choose from as well as premium charcoal such as Rockwood and Komado Joe Big Block which can be hard to find. Their staff is knowledgeable and extremely personable. Things are a little crazy at the moment but their selection of grills and accessories is outstanding as well. If you’re in the market for a new pit, or just need some fuel for your existing pit, this is the place to go!

BBQ Outfitters has a good selection of high-end BBQ products. They are expensive, but they match online pricing so it wont be cheaper elsewhere. I checked the price of a Twin Eagles grill on-line and it was the same. The expense is due to the high-end products they sell. Customer service is good. My salesman, Craig, spent around 3 hours over two visits to explain the products and and make selections for my outdoor kitchen project. BBQ Outfitters is a good place to plan and purchase for your outdoor kitchen project.

I ordered in my Traeger grill by phone, through Buddy, who had held it for me and offered me a deal on it with assembly and a cover, and when it came in I was notified. I came down to the store, and they loaded it up into my trailer without my help, it was great. I highly recommend, and will be returning!The only bad thing is their parking lot is NOT truck and trailer friendly. Had to back out on to the shoulder of 620 in heavy traffic. So just be prepared and try to go during non rush hour times and youll be ok.

This is bar none the best place to buy a grill in Austin. They have the best selection from good quality starter grills to some of highest end grills money can buy. But in addition to the selection is the family like service they provide. My grill I bought 5 years ago had some parts fail, they went back to the manufacturer and got me new parts at no cost to me. They did all the work and handled the process, then called me and come pick up your replacement parts. You simply dont find customer service like that anymore. I used to buy my grills at the big box stores and replace them every ~5 years when they would fall apart. Save yourself from that, shop here and get a high quality grill from s team that will back up the product they sell.Great job guys, looking forward to buying another grill from you.

Bought a Weber grill from yall back in the day, now I was back to buy a Traeger Pellet Smoker. Craig and all the guys were really awesome to deal with. They even made sure I didnt forget my wood pellets!

I had driven past BBQ Outfitters many times before and finally had the opportunity to stop in with my wife. I can honestly say that I was underwhelmed. The “friendly” salesman seemed off put by my experience with Traeger grills and chose to ignore us as we then looked at other options. I had hoped for a more inclusive and consultative discussion but instead was left to collect pamphlets on my own. I won’t waste my time again...

Last Saturday, I went in to BBQ Outfitters to purchase a grill. I talked with Craig who listened carefully to how I plan to use the grill, my expertise, etc. He ultimately recommended a Saber grill. He could have sold me a more expensive grill, but sold me a grill that meets my needs.I picked it up later that day and brought it home. I hooked it up to the gas connector, and it just wouldnt light. The next day, Sunday, I called Craig and after some trouble-shooting, he passed the call to their service manager. After describing the issue, he said hed send one of their gas grill experts out to our house the next day.So, the expert came (I wish I recalled his name) and within 10 seconds said that the regulator wasnt installed correctly. This was a simple mistake made during the conversion to gas by the shop at BBQ Outfitters. He fixed it, checked all other aspects of the installation, and now all is good.Two points here:- the knowledgeable sales experience with Craig was outstanding- anyone can make a minor mistake and the very quick fix was greatly appreciated.I could have saved a few dollars if Id purchased online, but I wouldnt have this sort of service. Plus, I cant imagine the hassle of trouble-shooting the regulator issue over tthe phone with a call center.Bottom line - before you buy online, go to BBQ Outfitters.

Had a great shopping experience at this store. Purchased a Kamado Joe grill after getting great introduction from the salesman. Store has plenty of BBQ supplies and grills for those in the market. If youre lucky, theyll be cooking something on a grill and samples will be provided.

Easy place to get in and out with what you need for some great BBQ. We got a Weber Smoky Mountain, lump charcoal, some Post oak chunks, and starter bricks in less than 10 mins of being there.

The process was fantastic. Chris walked me through everything I needed to know and they even loaded the grill up for me. I would never go anywhere else to buy a grill!

I have had pretty bad luck at this store on two different times, a year apart. First time, I bought a pellet smoker that would continually malfunction. Our salesman kept insisting he would stop by and trouble shoot it. A couple months and a dozen phone calls later I still had a broken grill and the salesman never came out to look at the grill.I decided to give the company a second chance and buy another grill a year later since they carried the model I wanted locally. The employees refused to sell the model I wanted because they didnt have time to assemble it that day. I told them I could assemble it myself and the employee said it was “half-assembled already and he didnt know if all the parts where there”.

Sales guy was nice, patient, and tried hard.Could be much better at being special and convince me with reasons why I dont just order from online local hardware stores.Instead it was: Limited to high dollar grills (there are a lot of middle of the road grills they could also sale).PlusEnd of season sale was same price as local hardware stores online shopping.Ohhh...delivery is extra (even though I live 2 miles down the road).Ohhh... cant deliver till next week cause we dont deliver after Thursday (rather than we will have at your house tomorrow).Ohhh.... you have a problem with the grill, contact the manufacturer (rather then..any issues...we will fix it)

After dealing with another company for two months to have two DCS grill components delivered, I called BBQ Outfitters in Austin, hoping by some miracle, they could order the units and have them shipped to Indiana in time for a fundraiser we were hosting at our house in less than a week. Stephen was professional, persistent, up front and honest, and went above and beyond to make it happen. He got it done in less than a week when the other company couldnt make it happen in 2 months! The guys at BBQ Outfitters are top-notch and did an excellent job walking a newbie like myself into the world of the Big Green Egg. With a ton of Eggs and Eggcessories to choose from, these guys really know their stuff but arent pushy like most high-dollar-item salespeople. They were able to price match a local competitor and still helped me put together a better deal than I would have gotten over there, and then helped me strap up my new Egg in my minivan for the drive home to avoid a delivery fee. On top of all that, theyve been responsive in answering the one or two over-the-phone questions I had after purchasing. Excellent!EDIT: Seeing reviews below about unhelpful salespeople baffles me. My husband and I have stopped here several times looking for grill accessories. Each time, the men at the store seem put out by having to help us. We get the impression that if you dont go to the store looking for a grill or with a big purchase in mind, they dont want your business. This is short sighted on their part, because next season we will be looking for a smoker, but will go elsewhere.
