After dealing with a dealership and waiting on a warranty part that continued to get delayed from 2 weeks to 2 months. I finally looked elsewhere and was referred over to Dave. Within two days I had my JEEP back and he addressed everything that was needed in a no bs type of way. Super straight forward and to the point, Dave went above and beyond for me! Can’t recommend him enough!

Dave and his crew know what they are doing and will figure it out if they run into something they have never seen. I own a AC Cobra replica, which is ALWAYS a problem when it needs to be fixed. Western Drivetrain found the problem - not too hard since it was a broken axle - but found a way to get a new axle replicated and installed along with new wheel bearings and new rear end gearing. OMFG, the car is like brand new! Way to Go Western Drivetrain, and thanks a million!

Great to work with. Had a full regear done on a 4x4 F350. One of the trucks hubcaps was accidentally broken and they mailed a new one one to my house to replace it. Also had a dust seal come loose several weeks later and they replaced it no questions asked. Great to find a shop that not only does good work at a great price, but also stands by their work and takes care of their customers. Highly recommend Dave and his team. Gio was a pleasure to work with and helped to answer all of my questions. Keep up the good work guys!

Co-owner David is very dishonest and a rip-off he said if I bought spider gears for my differential from him he would charge me well over $600 for the spider gears, but he would sell me a complete new third member for $400 installed. This makes no sense! There are at least 7 to 8 stores on line and in town that sell spider gears from $80. to $150. for my vehicle. I do not recommend going to someone who is dishonestly shady!

Brought truck for noise. Diagnosed and was told transfer case need rebuild. After a week, repairs were done, noise didnt go away, blamed tires. Charged warranty anyways. Have somebody else diagnose and then bring it to them for work, 1500$ spend on rebuilding a part that did not solve the issue in first place.

A1 service! I brought a front axle out of a 1956 Willys wagon here to be straightened and was told it would take about a week. At the end of 2 weeks it seemed nothing had been done. Finally got a call the following Monday morning about it and was told NO CHARGE because it took too long! Dave was super cool about it and even hooked me up with some gear marking compound for setting the gears. I will be taking all of my axle work to this place from now on!

These guys rebuilt the drive train on my 1966 Chevy 4x4 truck and did great work. So when it came time to rebuild my 95 Landcruiser front axle, I needed help pressing new ABS tone rings onto the new Birfield outer axle. All the local Toyota shops were either afraid, didn’t know how, or simply source out that kind of work. The gentleman at Western Drive train did it on the spot without hesitation. This shop is old school in the best way! Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

From the first phone call, Bill was straight forward and asked the right questions to not only have the correct parts on hand, but to let me know a fair estimate of the work to be done and the time frame it would require. You couldnt ask for a more knowledgeable, precise gear installer. We had to trailer the car up there this morning, upon inspection we found more issues than expected. Bill had the parts on hand, updated my estimate, we agreed on the work, and we were out of there by lunch. We drove the car back down to Peyton, CO and the rear end was perfect. The noise level was better than stock. The engagement smoother than stock. The ratio was perfect for the vehicle and gives a greater feel of power without robbing fuel mileage or losing too much top end.Thank you for the great service. I will recommend anyone looking to have their vehicle differential serviced contact Bill and his team.

Brought my 06 Tahoe in that had been making progressively worse howling noise from the rear differential. I had an appointment and Steve did an excellent job of keeping me informed of what was going to happen. Before I left he made sure I knew there was a small possibility that if I decided to have the work done after they gave me a quote it might not be finished by end of day, but it would be no later than the next morning. He called a couple hours later to let me know the carrier bearings were shot but everything else looked good. He gave me a quote of under $1000 (less than 1/2 of another quote I received from another shop) and said they could probably still have it done that day. I authorized the work (which also included axle bearings and seal) and sure enough it was done by 4:00pm the same day. I asked if I could see the old bearings and Steve walked me back to the shop and had the tech show me the bearings.Differentials and axles are all these guys do and they do it well! They warranty their work and as someone who does 90% of my own work on my vehicle I can vouch that they know what theyre doing and are honest. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends and if I ever have axle issues again this is where Ill go.Thanks Steve and Western Drivetrain!

I first came here to replace rear differential bearings for my 2010 Jeep. Im pretty ignorant when it comes to cars. So I went in without doing any research. Paid $950 for the bearings, which was cheaper than Jeep but Im sure I couldve negotiated it down. A day after the bearings were replaced, the engine light lit up. Still dont know for sure if it was just a coincidence or it has been tempered with. Steve suggested a engine tuneup so I did it, for $250. He said he replaced plugs and wires. An hour later, engine light lights up again. I go back, and he says now he needs to replace the coil. He will charge me $150 for the part with free labor. This is when I start getting suspicious and start researching costs on these parts. Coil costs $50 at Oreileys and it is the easiest thing you can replace on a car. And for $250 engine tune up, coils should have been included in the first place. He basically tried to charge me twice for the same service. I went to this place because it had good reviews. Im probably not going back as long as Steve works there. If you do decide to go here, DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO.

In the midst of an epic road trip a howl emerged, wheel bearing maybe even axle would require replacing. An hour away the night before, Steve the shop manager promised to fit me in the very next day and get the job done before COB. His head tech Dave was reassuring and empathetic, even stayed late putting his personal life aside so that I may continue enjoying mine. This is the kind of shop youll never stop going to. its not flashy, its not overly pampering, its a good old fashioned shop that knows its stuff and follows through on its word.(PS for being out of state, last minute and hard to find parts, they didnt over charge a cent!)

Steve was very helpful. They changed the gearing in my 1972 Chevelle. I couldnt be happier with the end result. When I brought it to them it was geared so low it was barely drivable on the freeway. Following Steves advice on the gearing, now the drive ability is much better. Still plenty of torque for coming off the line so its still a fun car and no problem at all on the freeway now. I have other vehicles I am bringing them as well.

Fantastic experience. Needed a dana 35 carrier w/ limited slip put together (new clutch packs and planetary/spider gears). Im out east a bit and our local shop said they dont even do those, they take them to WD. I walked in 5 minutes before closing, but Dave the shop manager (who was also running the desk) still took it right back and put those gears in for me on the spot. I was figuring Id have to be back in a day or so to pick it up. Dont get service like that a lot anymore. Very much appreciated.

This business has become overpriced since Steve took over dealing with the clientele. He has a sort of car salesman personality. He will try and take you for a ride, especially if you are ignorant about how much these things cost. He told me his parts would cost 600-800$. I bought factory racing parts and only paid 250$. The owner, Bill, is a good guy and made a lot of friends and customers. Hope that will not be lost by the new guy behind the desk. I know I will never be going back. I got taken for 740$ to rebuild a diff and I supplied all the parts. Less than two years ago I dealt with Bill and paid 680$ with all parts included. Shop around people! I wish I did.

I brought my 70s muscle car down to Western Drivetrain after talking with Steve over the phone. I described my problem with the right axle shaft and a stud that was loose preventing removal of the tire and my desire to install posi-traction. Steve knew exactly the type of parts my car used including the odd ball parts that could be on the car. Sure enough my car has a axle that the posi-traction is no longer built as new but they had a rebuilt unit in stock. Western was also able to repair the axle shaft for a new wheel stud.
