Due to some faulty contract work (Not AFC) we had a leak in our bathroom sink. Which required the sink cabinet to be removed from the wall and new fittings installed. The fellow that came (Nick) was very professional & courteous. He explained what needed to be done and did it. He reworked what the contractor failed to do and made sure the sink cabinet was level and all the fittings were secure. we are very pleased with the work. In this community where customer service is a must due to competition employees like Nick represent your company in a fine light.

Additionally, their prices are always great, and they have plumbing, electrical and heating staff to address all of your issues. Scheduled my annual furnace cleaning with AFC. The technician that came was Zak... he was very pleasant, introduced himself and of course in a sign of the times was wearing mask, etc. Zak walked me through the furnace, asked all the appropriate questions about usage, etc... and got right to work. Since we recently purchased the home I was really interested to get his feedback. Zak spent a good amount of time and thoroughly checked out/cleaned the furnace. I was extremely please with the work he did and would recommend AFC and Zak to anyone considering AFC as their fuel company.

I use AFC for my personal home and I also use AFC for the large property management company I work for. I have experienced great customer service, whether it be the folks answering the phone or the drivers of the delivery trucks. Any time I call I am greeted with a cheery voice and an eagerness to help with whatever I may be calling for. I highly recommend!

I relocated to Maine from Texas and was not familiar of how the heating and propane services operated here. I had heard of sticker shock of the prices of heating fuel and propane. I was apprehensive as to what it would cost me to heat my recently purchased home. The customer service representative explained to me the budget program and broke it down into a budget that I could afford.I am pleased with the time the customer service representative took the time explain my options.

Last week I lost a circulator on one of my four zones and I cantthank AFC enough for their attention. When I shut off the furnace aflame came up which scare me and although I did not expect its replacement that night I asked for someone to check it out for safety.It was a comfort when I received a return call saying there was atechnician in the area coming in a few minutes. Colby arrived andwas able to fix the problem that evening. Colby was so pleasant andanswered the many questions I asked. Thank you all for your quickresponse. My furnace was installed by another company before I bought my house. It always seems to conk out on the coldest night of the year at about 9 PM. No problem for AFC - they have it up and running before I can get the wood stove lit! Top notch service from a top notch group of people.

We, Ernest Tyler and I, were automatically assigned AFC through the HEAP program; which was fine with us, no big deal who delivers the oil, right. So, when our furnace was kicking out on us the staff person there told me that because I qualify for fuel assistance then KVCAP also has an assistance program to help with furnace repair up to a specific $$ amount. I called KVCAP, we got the assistance for repair. It was like pulling teeth to get a time or day when AFC could come out to fix the furnace. First of all, I was informed that they do not make appointments and of its an emergency call they fit you in when they can and will call you so be ready for a phone call when theyre on their way, could be later in the day, tomorrow, or next week! Eventually I got a narrowed down time frame for the technician to be out. Now, when he got here all he did was replace the motor/control box with a digital push button style box on a furnace that was new 5 years ago. I guess that is their fix all solution because the furnace is still kicking out and now we need to push buttons to get it ro fire back up!! They did not fix the problem and I was told it would be $80 for them to just pull into the driveway. Mind you, this was paid for by an outside source. I am not implying that KVCAP should pay for the return service, Im saying I dont think it should need to be paid at all and how would KVCAP react to this outrageousness!? I am not at all happy with the service and I want a repair person to come out, for free, to really look at the problem because it obviously was not the motor or control box!! When I called them back, of course it would be on their time, like people dont work and can sit around waiting on their Beck and call. I am extremely unsatisfied and I think KVCAP will think twice about sending as much oil/k1 business their way once they hear about their absurd business practices and policies.UPDATE:14September2020I had received a response from S.Isaac at AFC the very same day I posted the review; which, basically said he will look into the matter on the next business day. Well, here it is, a week later and I have yet to hear anything back. Called for a quote two months ago, got one. Since then, no repairs or work has happened. Asked for a second quote for more work, no returned emails or phone calls.Update: I reached out to Paul, who was very professional and apologetic. AFC got someone out to my house for another quote within four days. Repairs were then scheduled and conducted in a professional and timely manner. It is my intention to continue using AFC, as I was truly impressed by the crew that came out to do the work. They not only conducted their repairs, but addressed issues that presented at the time of repair. They did not leave me hanging.Tip: If you use AFC, just make sure you have a clear line of contact, and that you are able to reach representatives quickly. Scheduling is heavy, and people fall through the cracks, so don’t let it happen to yourself.

Rude customer service thats sighs at you on the phone when you call about drivers taking pictures of the back of your house without approval.Update: so respond 11 months later. First of all it was not a code violation. Your driver complained he couldnt hear the vent pipe which if he wasnt busy playing with our bird house and paid attention to his job then he wouldve heard it especially since we can hear it loud and clear on our cameras right where he was standing playing with our bird house. I also read to you the code for the fills and vent pipes which you guys admitted we had no code violation, that your driver was in the wrong and if you had a problem with it you would fix it free of charge as it was your own personal problem and in fact not a code violation. You also inspected the tank and pipes before you approved deliveries and filled this many times without issues and we discussed this too.So no. There was no code violation. Your driver legally does not have the right to take pictures of other peoples property and windows AND threaten us which was also discussed on the phone with the manager as you guys didnt think we had cameras and audio.

The technicians that come to the house to fill the tank are always great - really friendly, very efficient, never had a problem. I would agree with another review posted here, however, that Linda has really inadequate customer service skills. Ive worked in customer service and in interpersonal jobs for my entire adult life so far, and this woman is not only unprofessional, she is downright rude. My husband, who is a very polite and patient guy, called specifically to tell her that it was inexcusable that EVERY time I had to call the office, I ended up in tears because of her. A company can have the best of everything to offer, and if the person answering your phones and greeting your customers is rude, that ruins the entire thing.

We had an oil delivery last week & my vehicle was blocking the driveway. The delivery man had to park in the road & walk up our lawn in the snow to get to the tank. When I came out to leave for work he was finished & I apologized for blocking his way to the tank, he was very professional & polite and said no problem & told me to have a nice day with a smile. Augusta Fuel always provides great customer service.

We had an issue with our AC unit and service came out on Tuesday. We were told they had to order a part and it would be in on Friday and they would come repair it. We tried to contact the service person and our calls went ignored. We called the office on Friday around noon to check on the part and were told it would be Monday before they could come out. We spoke to Linda and she was very rude. We called back again to see if there was any update, and again were told They didn’t know anything about the status of the part. I asked if they could track the part and was told no. The customer service was lacking and didn’t offer any help with the solving the issue. We have a child Who is medically sensitive to temperature and customer service didn’t care.

I have to say I really love having to call AFC to pay my bill. The girls in the office are extremely kind, they do not act robotic, they treat you like a person and always cheerful. I had Weymouths fuel for 30 years and when AFC bought them out I thought oh great....but it has been truly a pleasure. I dont always agree with the prices of fuel but the CSR are trained well. I never call to pay my bill at other places as the Customer service is usually lousy. I will do everything to avoid calling. But I just have to say to those girls taking the calls. You would win the JD Power Award for sure! Keep up the amazing work! 🇺🇸

Ive been a customer with AFC since moving to Maine in 2011. I inherited a 35 year old HB Smith boiler which theyve kept running in tip top shape. They also ran new propane lines to fire up an iron gas log stove and installed a big Rinnai in my upstairs. All work just fine. The repair service is quick and capable, have upgraded my old steam system (which I love), and they have come promptly when they were needed urgently (only once). I highly recommend them as a fuel supplier and maintenance/installation company.

Been with AFC for 10 years. Since they bought out J&S oil all hell has broken lose. Techs unavailable or Techs who are not trained showing up and replacing parts that are not the problem because they do not know how to PROPERLY trouble shoot the system. Call for same problem and say they will get back in-touch with you and they never call. Say part is on order and weeks go by until you have to call them to remind them. They are very overwhelmed and confused. sorry would not recommend AFC.

Called to order some heating oil, was told I with my discount it was 2.39gal. called around found out average cost of oil was 2.05gal. Called back they instantly dropped the price to 2.19 (still couldnt match other price) these guys are a rip off. call around and compare!

Very expensive. They dont have their oil prices listed like other dealers. Delivery people are nice enough but if you have to deal with anyone in the office not a pleasant situation. Linda is rude and demanding. I refuse to speak to her when I call. Overly priced for what you get.

Well I have been a customer of J&S oil now Augusta fuel company for many many years I just got screwed out of $58.16 thats a lot for a disabled Vet hell thats a lot for anyone I usually call and have them match the oil price on Maine Oil Com and they do.. but if you pay with in 30 days they knock of 40 cents a gallon but no more the women is bla bla bla our regular price is $3.249 a gallon and with you military you get it at $2.949 There is not another oil company in the state of Maine charging those prices. Well those other oil company have no overhead don’t service you in the cold they won’t even answer there phones but we do. Don’t use AFC oil company for heating oil they will rob you blind . If you can’t be a good company at fair prices and have to put others down to make your self look good instead of your merit and action you shouldn’t be in business. First off you should be fired for that then there would be less overhead you lost a long dedicated cash paying customer and I hope this review is read by many

They are the only system 2000 techs in the area and Im told that because Im not a current customer they cant help me out because they are short on staff. In the meantime I sit here with a boiler that isnt working properly. My pepere who help found that company would be rolling in his grave to know they turned down a new customer. Thanks AFC!!! The technician Michael arrived & knocked on my door. I didnt hear him and thankfully rather than just moving on to his next appointment he called to tell me he was at my house. He fixed our problem (no hot water) and explained what the issues were and what he had done to correct them. He worked efficiently and was very friendly.

Really 3.5 stars.The good is they seem competent. They back what they install. They address any problems that occur as they should.The bad is they flat rate repairs . The charges seem extremely high given that you are their customer and they want to sell you fuel afterward. They need to be upfront about the charges before they come over. When they guote hourly rates,they should charge according to that. As a customer I feel that your fuel supplier should not rip you off and they should in fact give you a break. Then you will have that customer for ever. I dont think that is asking too much. It just seems to be good business practice for both sides. I have to add that they did adjust the repair bill when I pointed out my views on this flat rate practice.Also they should make it a definite practice to go over new equiptment with the owner after it is installed.

I have mixed feelings about this review. I called to set up a delivery for the first time. They gave me couple discounts. (Sweet)I missed the delivery, thinking it was the next day. The gentleman who was at my house called me and said if I could get to the house in time to unlock it, he would still be able to deliver. (Above and beyond excellent service there) Unfortunately, I couldnt. Called and set up for the following week. That was yesterday. I called the company to confirm the delivery, they had no record of it (what?) but willingly sent a message out to their driver. (Good thing I called). I arrived home at 7pm to a bill that was much higher than originally quoted to me and a cold house. I called the emergency line to be put on hold for 3 hrs. 11pm at night, the crew showed up. Looked at my furnace for 5 mins, told me it was a blown blower motor, 10 mins later, the crew said we needed to replace the whole furnace, and there wasnt anything they could do. The furnace had been working just fine earlier that day, might I add. They disabled the furnace so we couldnt turn it back on and left. House was down to 40 degrees by 1:30am with fire alarms chirping because of the temp. (Can I also throw in that we had two kids sleeping upstairs?) We called a family friend who installed a new motor blower-in less than 30 mins and low and behold, we now have heat and we do not need a new furnance. Sounds good over the phone but once they got to the house, it was all about the money.

My husband and I called and ordered propain from this company when we moved to Chelsea two weeks ago and unbeknownst to me they told my husband they were running his credit so we could get propane? That sounds insane Ive never had to give anybody my Social Security number so they can run a credit check through me so I can buy propain with cash. New Years morning and I am shopping for a new fuel company. We are out of propane (2nd time in a row on auto-fill) and they just screwed up an annual service and left a tenant without heat. We are landlords with multiple buildings but AFC just doesnt seem competent to keep our properties going.
