Mark took 3 precious pieces of jewelry and created a timeless keepsake ring a couple of years ago. This past weekend he took 2 rings, one from my mom and grandmother and is designing a pendant that I will wear for my sons wedding. I wouldn’t trust anyone else but Mark and Tammy.

When we lived in Auburn and were getting engaged, we shopped around quite a bit before choosing JBD to make my custom engagement ring. Then we moved to Louisiana and thought we couldnt use them for the wedding band. After some disastrous results from Kay Jewelers, we reached out to JBD to see if they had suggestions and they offered to work on the wedding band with us long distance! They were so quick and responsive, and the master jeweler had actually already created some mock ups of what he thought the wedding band should look like back when he made the engagement ring! What a personal touch! It just reminds me to always shop local! They did an absolutely stunning job (our professional photos arent back yet and cell phones just dont do this thing justice) and Im so honored to be able to wear this ring forever. Thank you to Genesis who worked with us every step of the way, as well as the rest of the team. You all do amazing work!

Make sure you ask for your total for ALL work being done. I was being told prices for one, not the total for both. And have them circle and clearly state the quoted price before signing! It felt extremely sketchy and youre stuck when they surprise you with the true cost at pickup! I will never come here again. Poor communication and subpar customer service.

My 1.5 ctw wedding ring was appraised at 1.24 ctw by jbd. My 2 ctw tennis bracelet was appraised by jbd at 1.45 ctw. My 5 ctw aquamarine pendant was appraised by jbd at 3 ctw. No mention of the need to remove stones to receive an accurate appraisal when I brought my pieces in. Needless to say the low carat weights greatly lowered the appraised value of my pieces. The appraisals were finished a week late. No courtesy call to let me know they wouldnt be ready on time. I called multiple times upon the scheduled ready date and after to check in on their progress. I finallyrequested that they call when the pieces were ready. Overall an extremely disappointing experience. And unfortunately the appraisals are virtually worthless.

I brought a newly purchased watch in to be refitted & the experience was first-rate. Met three of the employees & they were extremely friendly & professional. Would definitely recommend them & their service.

I had a watch repaired here over a year ago. It broke again within 6 six months after the repair.

The customer service here is WONDERFUL! I simply cannot speak highly enough of this store! I brought in a family ring I inherited and wanted to melt it down and create a new right hand ring. When I went in, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted it to look like, I just knew I wanted a right hand ring. Other places I have been to, I would walk around and just look to get ideas, and people would get very frustrated with me or just ignore me. When I came into Jewelry by Design, and told them I didnt have any idea of a style I wanted, they were so helpful and patient and were excited to work with me and show me different pieces. It was actually fun working with them! Not to mention, being a part of the entire process and seeing it be created from beginning to end. It also made me feel so much better that they do everything right there in the store, they dont send anything off unlike other places in town. They also scoped my diamond with me to show me how to identify it so I knew it was my same diamond when I got it back. I will always recommend them to everyone! I am always treated like family when I walk in the door, I just love the feeling of a small town local jeweler I absolutely LOVE this place!

My husband and I ordered a ring for our six year old son to give to him on our wedding day. They were able to fit the entire inscription on the ring and it turned out great. The employees were very friendly and worked with us on what we wanted.The only reason I didnt give this place 5 stars is because it took longer than we were told for the ring to come in. It may not have been something they could have changed and it worked out fine. I was impressed with this place overall.

I went in to repurpose a ring that was passed down to me. I’m beyond thrilled with the setting that will now hold the stones from the passed down ring. The staff, Kelsey, was an amazing help. Quick and easy watch repair

I have the first ring they did with the AU design on it and it is beautiful!! My mother used her engagement diamond from my father and gave it to me for Christmas. I have had many compliments on it and I absolutely love it! I have also purchased AU inspired earrings to give as gifts and both recipients loved them!

This place is fantastic! From start to finish, my fiancee and I loved our experience. The jeweler was able to take multiple antique family rings and create a beautiful engagement ring for her. We also both bought our wedding bands from them, and the advice and expertise was very helpful. 10/10 for sure!

My first visit was terrific! They fixed my necklace fast & I cant even tell where the repair was done! Ive been hearing good things about Jewelry by Design for a while, so I decided to take my necklace for them to fix it. I love that they have jewelers in the store and the lady that helped me was wonderful.

This place isnt going to make it if they dont start telling customers that they take months to do anything. Ive called and asked numerous times when my ring will be finished. I keep getting told its looking great and the jeweler is almost done with it. Its been months! I wouldnt have taken it there if I had known this great jeweler takes this long to do anything.

Had a great experience here, I went in and ordered a custom ring 22 k with center karat and genuine rubies, they did amazing job. i had moved out of country for a while but im back now and will call them up again for more business. they did AMAZING job for my spouse. my husband cried and was so happy when he saw the ring. it was a wonderful experience, and I liked how they did everything for me & allowed me to create a unique design & were really responsible. I had no doubt in my mind ordering from them. excited to purchase more from them! i will looking to make another ring for husband and rings for my kids probably after christmas going towards summer.

I am not a person that typically writes negative reviews but this was an experience that had to be shared. I walked into Jewelry by Design with my custom made, one of a kind engagement ring. It has 4 bands that meet in the back. My engagement ring had cracked where the bands meet and one of the bands had broken off. I still don’t know how it happened but I was devastated so I took it in to get it repaired. I took it to Jewelry by Design because of all the great reviews and because the original jeweler was now retired. When I took it in, the service was great and I also asked to resize down 1/4 size because it had been fitting loosely. My first indication that something wasn’t right should have been when they didn’t check to see if they agreed that I needed it resized. When I came back for my ring, I could no longer put it on my finger after only going down a 1/4 size and they had bent the bands causing the halo for the diamond to be out of place. It no longer looked like the same ring and the setting for the diamond was crooked. I went back to them the next day and explained that I believed somewhere in the resizing process/repair that some of the bands looked a little out of place and asked if they would be able to fix it. I also brought a picture of the ring to show how it looked originally. The jeweler at this point was incredibly rude and even asked if the picture was of the same ring. I then explained to him that it was and stated again that this was a one of a kind ring and that it did not look like the picture and also didn’t fit. He then proceeded to tell me that I had not needed to get it resized in the first place and didn’t understand why I had gotten it resized. He also said that he had only done work in the back so anything that was messed up in the front was not his doing. He walked away at this point and his sales rep picked up the conversation asking if we wanted it resized. I said yes and that I would like it fixed to look like the picture. She relunctantly asked me to send the picture to the store email. I was charged more for the resizing than I had been originally and they told me it would take a week to resize it. I should have at this point taken it elsewhere but I wanted to give them a chance to fix their mistake. A week later I got a call in which the jeweler said that he had gotten it “as close as humanly possible to the picture.” He also said that the ring was unstable and that it needed additional structural support insinuating that it was poorly designed. My fiancé picked up the ring and much to our disappointment and frustration it looked nothing like the picture. The 4 bands had originally been crossing and now they were parallel to each other. On top of that they removed the 14k gold stamp from the inside of the band. I hope that doesnt mean that they used some other metal when they resized it. I don’t know how he thought that it looked like the picture. I have shown several friends and family members the before pictures and what it looks like now and they all agree that it’s not even close. To make matters worse he added tacks to the ring saughtering the bands together. This was not part of the original design nor had we asked for it and he never called to ask before he modified the ring. The jeweler was again very rude to my fiancé when he picked up the ring making comments about how the design was unstable and insinuated the damage to the ring had been some how done by my fiancé between leaving the store and giving it back to me 10 minutes later. We believe that our poor treatment was due to our college age and that the piece was from another jeweler. The jeweler who had created our ring had designed most of my family’s engagement rings, had been in business as a family for over 80 years, and was highly respected as a master jeweler for his unique design and pieces. So to anyone who has jewelry designed by another jewler or who is young do not go to this establishment because they are extremely arrogant and have no respect for you or your jewelry.
