**UPDATE** - moving down to 3 stars, last couple times i have order there have been issues due to the togo wrapping and packaging. TOday I had 2x Cuban Sandwiches and 2x Salmon sandwiches. Because they are merely wrapped in paper foil they are easily squished in transit. TOday a salmon sandwich was so wet and juicy it tore through its wrapper and leaked fish juices onto the cuban sandwiches under them. Their food is great but i cant keep coming here if they dont improve how they wrap things to go.Delicious food options. Their Kitchen is a bit small so if you have a large order expect a bit of a wait even if you ordered for pick-up at a certain time. Staff is friendly and apologetic when delays occur.

The food is pricey and it was not as good today. I placed a small order. When I ordered I saw people with bigger and more complicated orders get theirs before me. My food was cold when I did receive it. I gave specific instructions on how I wanted one of my items made when I asked for it to be made I saw the older black cook comment in a snarky way about me asking for it to be remade to a coworker. I come here often to support. It was rude and unprofessional. I didn’t get an apology. It’s ok I won’t be returning.

2nd or 3rd time visiting this shop and it will surely be my last time visiting this shop. The higher prices I didn’t mind due to convenience however the racial micro aggressions are not acceptable. It is clear that the store caters to the surrounding White residents. what is sorely missed is acknowledgement and respect to the community- Black and brown people- who populated the area before gentrification.

I absolutely hate to write a negative review about a small local business especially during a pandemic but there are things that have to be known-I always know I’m going to pay more than publix or Kroger or even Whole Foods, I know what I’m getting into but I live around the corner and if I just need enough groceries to make dinner I’m happy to give my business to someone local. What I cannot stand by and watch happen is them repackaging or re-labeling sub par products or covering sell by dates with price tags. This is unethical and resulted in my dog getting sick.I purchased dog food here recently because my Chewy subscription was delayed and I purchased what I thought I be organic grain free food- when I got it home, I fed my dog that night and the next morning and my dog started getting sick- I went back to the dog food label and I noticed the label was slightly off-center and another label was underneath. I peeled the top label off and the label underneath was for a completely different food at a much cheaper price point and even worse- Not grain free and it was well past its expiration date.I’ve noticed before that they have products from Costco that have been re-packaged and price tags placed over the “not meant for resale” print on the boxes but didn’t think anything of it because I know better than to purchase certain products there but this is just irresponsible. The same day a salad I purchased, I wasn’t paying attention to the price, my fault, but when getting it home I noticed the tiny Greek salad that has no meat and not even a handful of greens was $9, it’s even in a skinnier to-go tub than usual. I know they are smaller and have to hike the prices up for convenience but enough is enough. It’s a shame because the people that work there are super cool and friendly and I used to love walking down there to get groceries for lunch/ dinner.

Really enjoyed my time here and the selection of foods until I got home to meal prep and all of my veggies were bad. The outside of the onions looked fine until I opened it up and it was dead inside. I should’ve known something was up because their was fruit flies all over the vegetables. For a place that charges quite a decent amount of money for their products, I’d assume they would care about the state of their produce. I’m upset because I wanted to support this small business. I will give it to them for their selection of other goods and a great staff though. Just a little sad about the produce.

The restaurant inside the market is a joke from my experience. The market itself is fine. The cooks weren’t wearing hair nets and you can see them cooking, that’s problem number one. Next, the blonde cook is on her cell phone most of the time, distracting the other cooks. I ordered the steak and fries, both came out cold. I can only assume that’s because the lazy cooks on their cell phones (excluding one Hispanic Male who was working hard) would rather do that than help the two servers out and drop it off for them since they were busy bussing tables and taking orders.I only eat my meat rare, so I ordered my steak medium-rare since I don’t know the cooks abilities, which it came out that way despite being cold from sitting. The fries were cold. I let the server know, and they took it back. As soon as he did, I told my girlfriend that I guarantee they’ll just heat the steak which will then ruin the rare cook because they don’t want to make a new one, and the fries will be the easy replacement. What happened? Exactly that. My steak came back out with the fresh fries nearly well done, which is disgusting. The character and laziness that shows would have you fired at my place of work immediately. Unacceptable by all standard, except for Grant Park Market I suppose.Definitely won’t be returning.

Stopped in at the Gather restaurant in the market on a Friday night and decided to try it out. We sat at the bar and got a front row seat to the chaos in the kitchen.Clearly, the staff is all new, and there are many problems that need to be ironed out. The waitresses were very apologetic about the long wait time (about 2 hours between arriving and receiving my order) and I felt bad for them.Hopefully, those things are improved as the staff is properly trained. However, the food is too expensive for what it is. I think most customers would expect a better value in the food from the counter of a grocery store.

Nice place. Its very clean and the staff are friendly but clearly its not for the convenience of EVERYONE. This community is a diverse area with mostly African Americans, Caucasians, and Hispanics. Yet, you cant use SNAP in this establishment to buy groceries. That turns away a lot of business. Especially when you consider the fact that the closest decent place to buy groceries is two exits down at the Kroger on Glenwood Avenue. I guess I will just continue my services there.

Sitting in the parking lot writing this review after having visited. Lets start with the good. I went there to purchase whole bean coffee and they had Counter Culture - which is my favorite and the roast date was fresh. The deli on the other hand smh - terrible. I thought I played it safe ordering a burger and garlic fries for lunch but the fries tasted like frozen, frost bitten fries that were tossed into some hot oil. The garlic was HUGE chunks that were barely eatable. The burger claimed to be 1/2 pound but theres NO WAY this thing was any more than 1/4. Burger was kinda okay, but I still cant get over those dismal fries.
