Delicious spot! Came with a friend for breakfast. Delicious! Great portions for the price. Egg whites were great, as were the pancakes! I didnt try the French toast, but my friend seemed to really love it. Coffee was good. Staff was friendly and masked. Would for sure recommend!

Despite being busy and short staffed, we received excellent, quality service that we are always used to! I’ve been going to this place for years and I always enjoyed the menu and the fact that they stay vegetarian/vegan friendly. Their hours are insane and they serve breakfast all day. My kind of people. The lattes are naturally sweet and warm, the meat is always cooked perfectly, and the pasta was extremely addicting. All in all, yet again, they continue to provide quality service and food in these trying times and that’s why I will continue to go here. P.S. say hi to the parrots on the way in and out the door!

Great food, slightly pricey breakfast, but as my partner said, This is Buckhead.Eggs were done perfectly to order. So many places cant get over medium right, but here, they do. Homemade bread is used for the French Toast, and as seen in the photo, its scrumptious. (Thats a HALF order, incidentally!)My partners breakfast burrito eats most restaurants regular burritos for breakfast, and really, thats my pun of the morning.Fantastic service, great atmosphere, and a fantastic understanding of vegan and vegetarian lifestyles help makes this a place Ill be bringing guests ever onward.

The food was delicious, and dessert was amazing. Lots of vegan options when it comes to food and drinks. Staff was efficient, professional, and compassionate towards the children. Not our first, and definitely not going to be our last time here. If it wasnt such a hike, wed happily dine there daily!

Great late night vegan and vegetarian options! The veggie sausage was tasty, as was the tofu scramble. The french toast was also very good. Great portions and great environment. The service was fast and friendly even though they were super busy.

Eh, honestly this is a late night last resort spot. The food is similar to a diner and if that’s what you feel, go for it. The food came in a reasonable time. The tacos were good, having broccoli on them was weird but good. The Pasta was good, but it was very basic like it was for children. DO NOT get the chicken in this pasta, it was a bit dry. The salmon was very good and the potatoes was good. The green beans were a bit undercooked but I suppose that’s good if you want to be healthier. Lastly the teriyaki bowl was pretty good. Mine had Tofu and the tofu is soft and chewy (you have to like it). Really pay attention to the vegetables in the dish, maybe you could have some removed like the celery. Also if you’re looking for a drink, they don’t have good ones, mainly a wine and beer spot. Wear warm clothes. I’m here in the winter and they sat us near the end of the tent, so my butt was freezing but my friends were fine.

Edit: (July,25,2021) No one answers the phone after midnight. Its very upsetting when you find out resources have been allocated for a security guard to keep up with the line rather than address the real issue. This has happened 2 weekends in a row. Im also very aware of the night/weekend demographic but Im going to go out on a limb and give you the benefit of the doubt. im taking my 2 stars and going home for this shenanigan.Its no news this is the original peachtree gem but I recently tried the lemon and herb linguine for the first time and I was blown away.

We try to find restaurants that can accommodate multiple (some very strict) diets. R. Thomas fit the bill! The food was so good! I didnt give it 5 stars because the traffic noise is awful and we were seated right up against the plastic curtain that separates the tables from cars whizzing by. Also, our waiter was okay, not superb. They have a very limited booze menu.

Unique place to go for breakfast or brunch. Service was good. Didnt have to wait for a table. Love the parrots..Food was decent.

Always come here when I crave some French Toast. The best around. I chose the big breakfast. Scrambled eggs are amazing and so if the veggie sausage. Delicious is all I can say to this. The staff is always super friendly as well.

Loved the space. The ambiance made this spot for me. Its nice to go somewhere thats not all commercialized like almost everywhere is nowadays.I ordered the curry coconut linguine and it was perfect. Couldnt have been happier with the dish full of flavor.Wasnt a fan of the chips and salsa.Miami cooler smoothie was amazing and so was their blue moon Yerba mate I think they called it.

Overall nice experience. Its a diner. If you come here expecting Michelin dishes, then shame on you. I ordered big breakfast. Not bad at all. Perhaps I should return for their famous brunch, but my dinner at R. Thomas Deluxe Grill wasn’t anything to write home about, especially for the price. The food was hot and filling. I got the vegetarian sloppy joe, which is more like a sweet thick faux meat patty wrapped in a tortilla. The overly sweetness put me off. My mom got their chicken quesadilla which she enjoyed. I found my potatoes extremely dry and bland. The atmosphere was nice and our waitress was friendly.

This is my breakfast spot. Great food and atmosphere. Been coming here for decades. I would love to suggest the half order of French Toast and the Big Bang drink. The Big Bang drink is their secret healer. It fights of any and everything before it even starts. I would have one every day if I could.The live bird display right outside the building is beautiful and impressive. As a bird collector it does it for me. 🥰

A fine campy space. Has a lots of options for everyone, a little bit limited on vegan options but the vegan options are quite good. I went two days in a row so trust me try it. Also, vegan desert!

Food is great. However, every time I come to pick up my food I find these beautiful large birds in tiny small cages.I don’t understand why the owner is keeping these innocent animals outside in Atlanta heat all day long in small cages. It’s inhumane. You should release them or take them to a sanctuary or something. People come to enjoy a meal and have a good time and not to witness animal abuse. There’s no point of having them at a restaurant.

So Sunday is our day for brunch and we are always on the hunt. So we got out late today and found this gem. Breakfast was fantastic. The reason for the 4 stars is the service. Our server just seemed not interested. I mentioned this to him and nothing. Im big on service but this wont stop me from coming back for the breakfast.

This was a wonderful dinner experience! All of the food was lovely, very tasty, and the smoothies were out of this world. I will absolutely be back next time Im in Atlanta.

Dont let the busy, color saturated decor throw you because inside this establishment is some delicious food. The menu offers plenty of tasty delights and offers a welcome, robust vegetarian selection. And dont forget to pet and talk to the tropical birds on your way out.

I love this spot! The decor is so funky and the staff is great! They have a great menu with lots of different options. I always end up getting the breakfast plate and everything is so good every time. They give you plenty to eat.My most recent trip here was the best out of all my experiences! Darius our server was so nice and made us feel welcome! 10/10 customer service (: We were also happy to be seated immediately during prime brunch hours on a Sunday. This is one of my favorite spots in my neighborhood for sure.

The french toast was amazing, our server was awesome, and the interior was just super kitsch but I loved it. Oh and coffee was perfect. Not too bitter, but too weak! I really appreciated the whole aesthetic.

The food was great. Awesome and interesting decor. Service wasnt that great. We waited a while for our waiter to assist us. And it took him a long time to come back and check on us and give us our check. However people around us were recieving great service from friendly people.

I randomly stumbled upon this spot when other brunch places were too packed. I loooooooove their french toast and apple&orange juice. I like the ambience and decor here. Staff is friendly, and I could tell they are trying to do their best ESPECIALLY during COVID. I see other reviews regarding the birds; I can not imagine GA humidity being a bother to exotic birds. They are caged, shaded, and I do see feeders and water supply filled.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Atlanta hands down the vibe is hip, mellow and diverse. The birds are beautiful and so is the decoration of this place. The servers are super fast friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Now the food is just amazing and fresh. I love it! I recommend this place for sure. Open 24 hours and seating is easy.

Ever since the first time I stopped in here looking for a healthy meal, R Thomas has definitely been my favorite place to eat when I’m in Atlanta.. Ten years ago, when I asked the intern at PatchWerk Studios where we could get food in the middle of the night, he sent me to R Thomas.. The fact that they serve breakfast (and specifically some of the best French toast I’ve ever had!!) around the clock was enough to win me over.. But once I started exploring their other menu options I was hooked.. The decor is part of the experience so expect it to be a little wild.. The cages outside of the entrance are filled with exotic birds year round and there’s an endless collection of funky collectibles all around the place.. Truly a fun time, some great food served by good people.. R Thomas is an Atlanta institution and absolutely worth a visit if your looking for healthy soul food at a fair price!!

Came here on my first visit Atlanta. I ordered the shrimp and grits and I have to say they were the best I’d ever had! There were many options which looked really food. On my next rip I’ll dedicatedly make time for multiple visits to this establishment.

Wonderful neighborhood eatery. Good food, decent prices. I ordered the Big R Breakfast. It included French toast (which was amazing), eggs, bacon and potatoes. It was a nice portion and really good. I also ordered hot wings, they were whole wings which are chargrilled. I didnt really care for those. Overall good experience, I will be back for the French toast.

Uniquely decorated! Its small so the seating is TIGHT! But the food was pretty good for late night eats. Parking is interesting its on a steep hill and looks kinda sketchy... well it is. There was glass on the ground where it looked like someones car had been broken into... be careful!

Loved the atmosphere, the food, the people, and the birds! 😍 I went on my birthday and had the raw veggie dinner #1 with the coconut delight smoothie and the vegan cake! The smoothie and cake were definitely my favorites, along with the guacamole that came with my meal. Overall, we had a great time and I would come back for more! 😋

Absolutely outstanding! The Mediterranean Bowl was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had. Our server & the management dealt with our difficult, demanding table with graciousness. Highly recommend!

I had the Veggie Sloppy Joe. The meat was good, but it was in a wrap, which was weird and didnt add any flavor. The wrap came with bland slaw and cinnamon sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were the best part. The place may have good food, but I just didnt order it.

The food and Service was okay. I just want them to be more respectful for wild life. They have large birds in smallish cages through the day. When asked if they get any time out, I was told just an hour or so a week! These birds are social and live long lives. I would love to come back and more often if they donated the birds to a sanctuary. We all went crazy during Covid from staying home for one year- imagine a lifetime in captivity.

Not only this place is not clean and the food isn’t that good, these people think it’s ok to keep large birds in small cages in the heat outside all day everyday. It’s a shame what they’re doing to innocent animals. I will not be coming back.

Get the veggie burger! It was delicious. Do not get the portabello mushroom stuffed with vegan meatloaf. The meatless loaf was dry, and the green beans were undercooked. I hesitated between 3 and 4 stars. If I had just had the nori rolls and veggie burger, I would have given it 4.5 stars, but the fact that you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom was weird to me due to cleanliness. Then, I was disappointed by the dry meatless loaf, so that lowered my rating. I might try again one day, but veggie burger only. Pretty good service.

The food here is great and the service is even better. I had the pancake early bird this time around, with a smoothie I cant remember the name of. The smoothie and juices are freshly made and are always amazing. My pancakes and eggs came out perfect. It is a bit pricey, but I think its worth it. My only issue with the place was the leaky patio canvas, and the aggressive cockatoo lol.

Yummie late night goodness! We came here after Fernbank After Dark around 11pm on a Friday night and we definitely came at a good time. There was no wait. Becky was our waitress and she had the most upbeat positive attitude! I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich with sunny side up eggs. Such goodness! Becky suggested the French Toast to go with it and that made the meal perfect and complete. I love the atmosphere and the eclectic dining area. I really enjoyed myself and so did my date. It was his choice to come here and he made the right choice. This is a great late night spot and the prices are pretty reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. Great job Becky! Brunch at my daughters favorite restaurant 😋. Even without her raw plate special it was up to its old standards. The vegan diet never had a more sparkling promoter. Egg and toast brunch is also the best.

I absolutely love R. Thomas! This is the perfect healthy place to eat in Atlanta when it is late at night and everything is closed in the city. They are open 24/7, have a vegan selection and everything is cage free! The feel here is really laid back and nothing but good vibes here. The waitress who assisted me was bitter and obnoxious. After I paid for my to-go order, she handed me the money holder without my card. Once I told her that my card was missing, she then started looking for my card. After a short while, she returned to the window with a different holder with my card in it, claiming that I overlooked the card. Additionally, while I was waiting for my order, she walked outside to the back of the restaurant, and returned with a stray cat. She took the cat into the restaurant and later exited the restaurant with the cat, and returned him to the back of the building. Also, there are caged birds outside of the restaurant, and the cages emit a horrific odor. Save yourself the disappointment and find a more sanitary eating spot with better staff.

I last came to this joint about 20 years ago so this is my first review. I dont remember anything about that visit because I was probably drunk and with friends, though I do remember the birds.So this place is set up like a bedouins tent, with tables and chairs. Employees dress very casual as its a very casual atmosphere, however you will see all walks of life and dress styles here, from business people to casual. Waitstaff are all pretty laid back but efficient and friendly.Menu is pretty eclectic. You can do breakfast all day, or sandwich, or burger, or wraps, or a pretty solid blend of different stuff, including some vegan type stuff that I ignore. 😎Today I had the R-hearty big breakfast which is french toast with bananas, 2 eggs your style, your choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, and some kind of potato hashbrown medley, which is kind of bland but still tastes good. The french toast was made perfect and tasted delicious. Eggs over medium were perfect, ham was good. I also had a side of sourdough toast, that was a pleasant surprise.Wife had chicken curry basil wrap. She wasnt impressed. The curry tasted chalky, there was a bit too much basil to it and the curry overwhelmed the red and yellow peppers and other ingredients, so we wouldnt recommend that. Prices are moderate, but well just go to IHOP for breakfast next time.Overall the place has a certain charm to it, parking is adequate, birds outside are cool (Peaches and Cream like their necks scratched, and Sam the Toucan has no interest in anything but hes cool to look at!).Ill probably come back in another 20 years.

R. Thomas is an Atlanta institution. Ive been eating here for fifteen years and have never been disappointed. My server on this day was Todd. Todd knew every detail of the menu and provided top notch service. Todd is not unique in that regard, the service is as much of an experience as the food and whimsical atmosphere.

RT’s is one of my favorite places to take visiting family and friends whenever they come to Atlanta. I think it’s partly because the atmosphere is so unique, but also in part because they serve quality food and have a good variety for meat lovers and my vegan friends alike. They also have a pretty decent selection of hot and cold beverages that I would highly recommend trying. There’s plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant and you can also park in the metered lot right beside the restaurant (they validate your ticket in the evenings). I think the only semi con is that during the winter the place can get pretty cold (it’s traditionally outdoor enclosed seating during the warmer months). So if you are going around that time, either ask to sit near one of the heaters or bring a decent jacket.

They did not have my Ultimate favorite VEGAN MEAL on their menu. When i asked they said they may not even have it back on the menu again. There was hummus, guac, and flaxseed crackers and different salads SO GOOD!! Im so disappointed, the other food is not that great but they do have Good smoothies. See the photo of my Fav vegan meal

Kitsch place with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. I had the veggie sloppy joe which was delicous. also recommend the grilled vegetable plate with pita and hummus. you have to pay for parking but you can get it validated.
