What could be a great local bookstore and addition to the amazing shopping at Taco Hills is sadly a weird uncomfortable place to be. Masks are required despite there being no Georgia mask mandate. The older female clerk is rude(on and off the clock, she eats at Chris Pizza and does not tip/is rude) and she seemed to enjoy denying me entrance, closing and locking the door in my face. I hope Taco Hills brings in new management or replaces this store with a REAL bookstore like Half Price Books(which is a great store, next to Walmart.) If Tell Tale staff can read this, please remove these mask mandates and let us browse in peace!(with door unlocked please, a locked front door while customers are in the store is a fire hazard and makes us feel uncomfortable.) Shame on who ever implements these insane rules on staff and customers.

Their policy of keeping door locked and following you around once inside is bizarre . And then they lock the door behind you. Understand being sensitive to covid concerns, nut this is the opposite of good customer service. I like to shop local but never coming here again. I left with the clear understanding they do not want people coming through their doors.

The doors were locked but a young lady came to the door after she saw us looking through the window. She looked scared to death to open the door. She asked if we had a mask and we informed her that we did not. She quickly closed the door and locked it. We stood there in disbelief. We will not be returning!!

Helpful and active staff! I enjoy visiting and purchasing here for years.Ron Douglas cookbooks and the latest flop Methods To Millions is such a disappointment. Ron Douglas operates as a novice not an expert in Internet Marketing for sure! His books should be trashed!!!

First, you have to wait outside until they’re ready to unlock the door & escort their only 2 customers outside. Then, when it’s your turn, you get to enter (door locked behind you) where the employee basically tells you that you aren’t allowed to enter the store,...you must remain in the 5’x20’ area, where they’ve already selected the most popular of various paperbacks, hardbacks, genres, etc. I don’t know if these were all COVID-driven precautions, or the owner is scared-to-death that someone’s going to shoplift, but it totally turned us off to shopping there. I mean, the very best thing about a good book store (and this one is large enough to be a great one) is the EXPERIENCE of browsing through so many potential purchases. And let’s face it, it’s the potentials and “I didn’t know I wanted this until I saw it” purchases that bookstores rely upon. If we were shopping for that one book, we’d use Amazon. The restrictions killed the experience we were hoping for. Speaking of experiences, I’ve never experienced a conjugal visit in prison, but I suspect the fee on entry is less than this bookstore’s.

Tall tales is great! Rebecca and her staff care for their customers with the same witty repartee of Marlene, the original owner. They carry wonderful books to read, books for kids, cook books, travel, and carry a fun selection of games as well.During Covid, they are taking precautions to keep everyone safe, so call ahead.Of special note, they can find used books for a small fee!Worth the trip!

I could never say enough good things about this lovely, well-run independent bookshop. Its a great reason to shop local & small business. My family has shopped there for at least 20 years. They have always had bestsellers plus other high quality books, and they can find & special order almost any book for you. I recently called them, stuck in my search for Christmas books for a 10 year old grandson interested in the space program & military. Rebecca had lots of ideas, pulled 12-15 age-approptiate, cool books, and I came to the shop. I was masked, as was everyone, & there was plenty of hand sanitizer. She set me up on a bench where I could look at the books at my leisure, far from others. I picked 3 great books, and she found me the adult version of one of the books for myself. Check out was easy & safe. -- OH, and wow did it help my soul just to be in a beautiful bookstore!!!

Owner and staff are very helpful with special-ordering books. On principle I refuse to order anything via Amazon, and use this bookstore whenever I need something ordered. Always a pleasant experience chatting with the ladies who work here.

There is a lady who works here who sits up at the counter and enjoys delivering a LOUD long-winded narcissistic monologue about her life to anyone who will listen. I couldnt even hear myself think much less enjoy browsing and reading potential new books to buy in this place.
