If I could leave a 0/5 I would. On Saturday July 17th, I went into the store to purchase a PS2 console that I have been searching for over 6 months for. They finally had one in stock, I purchase the console and a memory card as i had a bunch of PS2 games from when I was a child that i wanted to play. Proceeded to pay $80 for a PS2 slim and a memory card. Immediately drive home, hook the console to my TV and try playing a disc. I then got the Disc could not be read error on screen. I clean the disc and try again, but same message. I try three other discs and no dice, the consoles laser is fried in the console. I immediately call back asking for a cash refund due to them selling me a broken product. Im informed that they do not do refunds and only in-store credit. I call the store manager the following day and he just parrots the same message and gives me the corporate number. I will never refer people here for any product, and I speak to hundreds of people a day.

This place used to be really good, now all they care about is selling anything except games. Toys, comics, cards, models, etc. just bought a used 360 controller paid $25 plus drove 60 miles total. 2.88 a gallon (thanks Biden) so especially paid over $40 for this controller. Get it home and 1. It’s filthy with a layer of dirt and grime. 2 doesn’t work correctly. Called them and they said they didn’t have anymore in stock but I can exchange it for store credit. Stop worrying about selling everything else under the sun and sell you know games. At least check them out before you sell them. Not going back anytime soon.

The greatest attribute about this store is customer service. Staff is friendly and will gladly help whenever they can. While offering a great selection, their inventory is mainly sourced through contributions and trade-ins. In short, certain consoles or games are hard to find, specifically some of the oldest, and newest, titles and systems.

This place is cool for video games and other stuff but dont trust their movies. Its like they just take whatever somebody gives them. Evidently they dont even bother to check the disc before they take it as a trade in. Im so tired of buying movies to eventually find out the mf dont even work. Seriously. What are you supposed to do with multiple defective movies if its only one exchange per receipt? Ive had that happen. More than once.

Cool place to buy games and other stuff! I always come out ahead here! I always do store credit and for the some part I am happy with my purchases. They also do exchanges within 24 or 48 hours of purchases if you happen not to be satisfied with product.

I love coming here. The people here are great, and I have always gotten great service here. You can also ask the price of games they do and dont have. Its a great place for gamers, and the people here know how to strike a conversation.

I wanted to sell my galaxy tab A for store credit that I paid $300 for. He says $20 and tried to explain it was only a month old and had the charger and original box it came in but every time the phone rang he would spend his time helping the person on the phone. They didnt even care when I got mad and left, they should just shut these places down!

I go there all the time. Theyre always adding new items to their stock, and are expanding beyond DVDs, games, and so forth. Now they are buying/selling records, collectors cards, comics. I like returning to these style shops when they have so much to offer.

This place sold me an Xbox one for $169 and I bring it home and the system will turn on and then turn off I didn’t want to bring it back up there cause my cousin drove me around to look for one and gamexchange was the last place we looked I wasted all my money that took me weeks to store up and now it’s all gone because this store doesn’t know how to check there system I was also by the counter while a worker was walking around talking to a friend I trusted this place but now I can’t even play the games that I bought from the store with the system that I also recieved I would give this 0 stars if it had that😡

They wanted $35 for a used game that you can get new $19. I was just by their store, so figured I would try to give them business as a smaller store vs Walmart. Not a good look.

This is THE PLACE for games! If you want any game they most likely have it. I come here often for my assassins creed games and skyrim because its the best. I love shopping here and will forever be shopping here for games until they close!!

We got a game system just about like three hours ago and took it home and hooks it all up the right way and the game system would not read any of the games that we got and it kept saying the game system has a virus on it. I will not be doing any more business with this store oh and one more thing they tried to tell me that I would have to pay the difference for another game system cause they didnt have anymore of the one that I just got like three hours ago. That is some bs if u asked me someone needs to get some nicer people to work in the store too are just close this one down. No more business from me I will take it somewhere else

I really like this store, much better than GameStop. Typically a good place to pick up used games and DVD’s. I have an autistic son who is hard on his DVD’s so we buy them here for a fraction of what Walmart costs.

On this particular visit, I went in to purchase a power cord for my granddaughters Amazon Fire tablet; the salesgirl was very polite & knowledgeable.I have went in on other occasions & purchased games for my grandson & they are very reasonably priced on their used games.

Got a defunct game in December of 2018 and was told they would get a transfer, here it is February 2019 and still no game. I gave them my cell phone number and told them to call me as soon as the game came in 2018. Well 2019 happened. I finally get the game in May! MAY of 2019. They said they called my number, which was false due to the fact that I looked in the history and never saw their number in the call history. I told them to repeat the number I put and they said the number as it was written. So I show them my call history and it clearly shows they never called me.

I was looking for some Magic the Gathering cards. We had to ask for help even though there was no one in the store. The guy that finally came over and helped us was rude. We then found out he was the manager (James)! We didnt buy as much as we would have. We were just ready to go.

Have been going to Game X Change for years here in Athens TX. Overall a good experence. Have purchased a lot of games. About 90 percent of the used games and movies we have purchased work. The other 10 percent do not and we have to take back to get replaced or get store credit. We live 30 minutes outside of town so when we have to make a return its a little of an inconvience. We know we run a risk of getting a game or movie that doesnt work since most are used and not new.

Just bought a game..it said 1 player on back. Before I left the counter I asked if required internet. The person said yes..which I dont have. So he said Zhe would void the ticket.., but 2 seconds later said he can only give me a store credit!! No..you can void it..you just said it.Wow. What the heck!! Beware of ripoffs..it had several scratches too and not the exact same name or DLC codes that would have came with the original disk...Destiny Complete Collection..he said it would automatically download? No it wont...not unless you have a code. He might know about a few games, but not this one.

Everything here holds Nostalgia for my childhood whether its game systems I never owned or items that I can never find anywhere else , I look forward to finding something that Sparks my inner childhood so I can relive the memories once again

The manager sold me the incorrect stuff for the game I bought for my son... Asked if it was the right stuff he said yes get home guess what does not WORK!!!! Call the store spoke to the same manager that sold me the game and things that go with the game and ask if i could get my money back store policies say store credit well they dont have the right stuff i need so basically wasted $60 and the manager didnt give me my receipt and my son is very upset... Yall need a manager thats knows about the stuff he sales bc in the past two days i have spent $140 and half of the money wasted on some used bs that my son cant even play bc your store manager dont know his sh**

Great place lots of movies games and other stuff

Im from Fort Worth and I always look forward to visiting my family in Athens. I always make it a point to stop at Game X Change, its a family tradition. On Saturday evening my family and I went to Game X Change and spent a little over $200.00. My complaint is about Katelyn and her lack of customer service and making my family feel unwelcome. We walked in 30 mins before closing and Katelyn was ready to go home. Its Saturday I GET IT but when you are on company time. At least pretend to love your job. My brother walked to the back wall to see the prices of the game consoles and Katelyn yelled at my brother and was very aggressive with her body language and tone of voice. This was very embarrassing.... Katelyn informed us customers are not allowed back there and prices are listed on the counter. We get it and respect it... However, we did not know that. Please have the back wall blocked off so other customers dont get yelled at for walking up to look at the consoles. Its not noted anywhere that customers are not allowed to walk back there and Im so disappointed on the way it was handled.

Every time I’ve bought a Blu-ray here it always stops halfway through the play. They don’t check the merchandise, and they won’t give refunds on movies that won’t work . If I were you, I would use Amazon, or EBay you will probably get a better product .

This store and staff are the worst. Stood at the counter for 15 minutes while one rep was on the phone and the other helped a customer. Fast forward to a new customer waking in and instead of the rep assisting us he ignores us and helps the guy that just walked in. Well we walked out and will never return!!! Highly unprofessional, no thank you.

We moved here seven months ago, and needed a place to buy our games and systems, should they stop working. When I found Game X Change here in Athens, TX I had no idea what to expect, I had honestly never heard of this place before now. I missed Video Gameover Games in Arlington, TX.My eyes lit up, this place was and is so much better! My God! They have everything! It’s ridiculously insane! I fell in love with this store immediately and forgot all about the Arlington location.Sebastian is the Store Manager there, and has been nothing, but exceptional and flawless. I sold some games, but, I lost my receipt, on two different occasions he was able to look things up and help us, my last visit, he was able retrieve a store credit that managed to slip my mind. Sebastian always goes above and beyond what it is expected, he exceeds expectations while staying true to company policies and explaining things to customers, like me, why those policies are in place, thank you Sebastian, I’m sorry for being a pain.Thank you to Game X Change FOR EVERTHING and just plain rocking! Y’all are awesome! I would recommend this store to anyone. My Son and I are frequent shoppers there and that will continue for a very long time, #Loyality.Hands down! This is by far the BEST DANG GAMING STORE ANYWHERE! Love y’all, you’re the best!
