Sad to say Jo Ann is the only place in many places that is an all in all store for crafts, fabric, and sewing needs. Just don’t understand why the employees aren’t more friendly, and helpful. What happened to“ the customer”.I recently went in the Athens, Ohio Jo Ann. Bought a piece of material and told the girl cutting it a yard she measured it right on the line I also mentioned that they type of material once cut it always shrinks up when cutting could she go over a little Her reply was I’m doing what they showed me. Well guess what I got home and , yeah at least 2 inches too short of yard. Now that’s not much but when you need a yard and pay for a yard it does make a difference

Liv and other staff are pretty helpful. Despite a limited inventory compared to Michaels or Hobby Lobby, it is nice that Athens does have a craft store with baking, Cricut, scrapbook and floral options available. Download the Joann app for rewards and coupons which helps!

Abysmal if you make soap. The extremely limited quantity of supplies is disappointing. The markup on soap bases is nearly 90%.

Just when Black Friday sales began, there were so many different discounts, some exclusive, some inclusive, and additional on-line coupons that even the cashiers were confused over what prices were. Since I couldnt find out exactly what the prices were unless I went through the check out, I decided to go to a competitor in a nearby city instead of buying from JoAnn.

They have such a great selection of craft, art supplies, sewing, gifts galore and more! Love using my coupons. My goal is to never pay full price.😉 I found some beautiful glass containers that I needed for a project. My daughter bought herself some gorilla glue and Easter socks. Hopefully not to use together 😂

Joanns often has what you need in terms of decor, crafting or sewing but They are kind of pricey. Which is why I only use them when I absolutely have to. The stuff they have is cool, original and good quality, but a bit out of my student budget.

Five Star place with a Zero Star staff... this is an update because everytime I go in the staff is completely rude to your face (even if youre smiling and polite). I never post about this sort of thing but an 80ish yr old lady was in front of me asking about yarn and the same worker was so mean to her for no reason. This place is never busy and the staffs attitude is probably why. I could see this place going out of business. The same worker also had issues fixing a discounted item and said she just wouldnt sell it to me if she couldnt fix the price.Best place to go in Athens for all things Crafts. I love this place and can spend hours in here. They have a great selection of fabric. They also have tons of things for cake decorating. Honestly a little bit of everything. The prices can be a little high BUT they have great coupon options. You can get some deals if you pay attention to sales etc.

Staff here have a history of being rude, Ive also seen people in here without masks, even though the company itself requires them for entry.

Not very user friendly and does not have a complete selection of fabric colours and patterns.

I was looking for lace and all I could find was lace with bigger patterns than I wanted. There were just a few patterns that were the same in several colors. I expected more options. Will not bother with Joann Fabrics again.

It would be nice if Jo-Ann Fabrics would invest in thicker bags. Nothing is worse then the cashier loading the bags full and not double-bag them even though you requested it and you walk out in the parking lot full of ice and snow and your stuff goes everywhere because the bags are ripping.

Great place for everything fabric related. The tools can be a bit overpriced compared to online, but you cant beat the fabric selection and the ability to see them in person.

Great place to get crafts in Athens. The staff is usually really nice too. I prefer here to Walmart for getting fabric since theres always someone at the cut counter.

Staff does a pretty good job keeping the store clean and orderly. Check out lines can get a little long though but back up usually arrives swiftly.

Very dissapointed! I was just in this store and had a question about yarn. I was told there was no one in the store who knew about yarn. REALLY!???? HOW MANY ISLES ARE YARN???? And no one knows anything about it?!!! My question was that the pattern states lion brand home spun thick and quick. I found lions brand homespun but it didnt say thick and quick. Do they carry the thick and quick adn the answer I got was idk lion brand makes so many yarns YA THINK?! walked out of the store I will just order online. I dont see the point of going to a store like Joanns if none of the workers know anything about craft supplies.

Doesn’t carry anything i need. overall a very small store. impossible to do the intore pick up feature because anything they have online that isn’t “online only” they don’t carry in store. for being the only craft place within at least 30 miles, i hoped for more, especially with the needs of college student along with the athens community.

I live in pickaway county, but I come to this store when I can. The yarn selection is awesome! The Athens store has a much greater yarn selection than Chillicothe or Lancaster. Every Joann store should be set up like this one.

Was able to find a zipper for my coat and she showed me how take the old one out and replace it with the new one bygone to the top of the zipper loosen a few threads Slide the old one out over the end but the new one back in the same way you take that out unstitch a backup

I just called to ask about a job and a girl assumed I was someone else and started rambling about how they did not have the fabric I wanted. When I told her I had no idea what she was talking about and that I just wanted a job I laughed it off and she hung up on me. Rude. Totally not applying now.

Had what I needed and got great help

Speaking as a single guy who has been forced to do his own sewing, I first thought Jo-Anns was to arts & sewing what Harbor Freight was to toolage. In a word, the selection at Jo-Anns is HUGE. Thats great and would othewise garner the store a 5 star rating but their pricing and marketing practices are just a pain in the neck. Really, only an ignorant person would ever pay full price for anything in this store--there are always coupons to be had. So if you find yourself paying full price, it occurs to you that if only I had the coupon, Id be saving 30-50%. My take on their pricing policy is get people in the door with ok discount coupons (which often only bring the price down to a typical online offering), then hope the customer also buys a few other things at quite high markup. IDK, maybe I just shop value too much to be wowed by Jo-Anns. Its a great offering of stuff but I can never feel like Im getting good value unless Ive got the Golden Ticket of the week.
