Pilot House has unique expressions of whiskey, Oregon single malt (aged at sea!), gin, vodka, and “agave spirit” (it’s tequila but legally can’t call it that I guess). Rum and absinthe too if you’re adventurous. They also have canned cocktails (10% ABV) that are great for going camping, to the lake house, etc. Super convenient when you don’t want to fuss with a million ingredients for Bloody Mary. Or for a gift basket! We try and stop by anytime we are in Astoria. They have a Portland location too but I haven’t been yet.

Stopped in today and picked up a bottle of fantastic American style whiskey. It made the perfect Old Fashioned. Learned a lot about how it was made from the man at the counter. Heard rumors they will be making bourbon so I’ll be back to try that!

Amazing place! I sampled whiskey, gin, and vodka and they were all great. I usually dont enjoy just sipping on straight gin or vodka but these were very drinkable. The owners were super friendly. Cant wait to stock up on all their offerings once we move to Astoria this summer!

I got really into making cocktails in 2020 because I don’t have the patience for sourdough. I’ve started to learn that if you want to stock your liquor cabinet with interesting, creative ingredients, local distilleries are the best place to find unique flavors you can’t find anywhere else. Pilot House Distilling is definitely one of those spots!I especially love their absinthe — very smooth for 70% abv, and lots of herbal flavors without the bitterness that some absinthes have. Their coffee liqueur is also great — it’s 80 proof and way less sweet than you might expect from a coffee liqueur. I’ve been using it to replace the vodka in White Russians for a richer coffee/vanilla flavor. I bet it would be great in hot cocoa too.I only wish I would have picked up more while I was here! I’ll have to stop by their Portland location when I get the chance.

I wrote a quick review when we ducked into the distillery on a whim back in October 2017, and at this time Im editing my review, still keeping my rating at 5 stars. The proprietor was pretty cool and provided us with a very personalized tasting experience and I admired him for following a dream to strike out and do a distillery startup. We tried the Painted Lady Gin and really enjoyed that but the real star of the show for us was the Columbia Absinthe Verte. Weve continued to enjoy the bottle that we brought home and will definitely be coming back for more on our next visit to Astoria.

My favorite distillery in Washington. Painted Lady gin is perfect for gin & tonics. Their American Whiskey is great. You can get canned cocktails. Go in when the tasting bar is open to sample. Youu wont leave disappointed

The hell or high water is where it’s at. We had a Covid shortened bottle that was still a great batch. Don’t get to Astoria often but I’ll make sure it’s on my itinerary.

I was recommended this place by a gin nerd/bartender at a fairly trendy Portland mixology sort of place. I only tried the gin, but both were exceptional (I bought a bottle of both).The nice surprise was that the owners (I assume) are great! Their assistant was also extremely helpful and polite. Pretty cute too.Edit: I’m not seeing the picture I posted with this review, so I feel the need to mention that their assistant is an adorable dog.

This place and the couple who own it are fantastic!! There products are great and the owners are extremely friendly, informative and are genuinely grateful for your business even as their success rises. I happily go out of my way to stop here. They also have the best bloody Mary canned cocktails!!

The potent potions at Pilothouse Distilling are an afternoon well spent. Thoughtful, creative, twists on classic and traditional flavors make this distillery a gem of the North Coast. Highly recommend Painted Lady Gin and Hollen Aquavit.

Im not too big on whiskey or vodka but this place knows what they are doing cus I liked it. I seen a guy buy $400 worth of liquor here and I kid you not. He looked pretty happy.

I visited with my high school girlfriends and loved the tasting experience. They are wonderful, fun and kind-hearted people who are extremely creative. I bought way too much but dont regret it. A truly wonderful experience.

Wed just missed their hours on our last visit to Astoria and made a note to return -- boy am I glad we did! We were treated like friends and locals, the owners took time with us and kindly answered all of our questions. They even recommended a restaurant and bar near where we were staying that ended up being phenomenal [the pickled fish] -- we walked out with some gifts and a few bottles for ourselves. Love these people, love this place. World-class spirits (especially the absinthe) and shrubs (try the grapefruit!).

Amazing and creative libations! We came across NCD at a distillery festival and came up to Astoria to visit the tasting room. Excellent gins and infused spirits. Such genuine and fun people make visitors feel welcome and appreciated. I didnt used to like gin but I love his painted lady and bar pilot gin mix them like a Moscow Mule and its amazing. He even makes his own tonic that will make you rethink your views on gin and tonic. Always look forward to seeing them when we visit Astoria.

They have a tasting room, and good selection of delicious spirits, here, including canned cocktails made with their own liquor (perfect for camping, or floating the river!). My personal faves are the Jalapeño Lime Vodka, painted lady gin, and ThunderMuck coffee liqueur. They have housemade 4-packs of canned Bloody Marys, gin and tonics, and astoria mules. They have absinthe, too! Owners are often the servers, and are super friendly and informative.

A must for anyone visiting Astoria! The spirits and experience exceeded expectations. We will definitely be stopping in the next time were in Astoria.
