Everything Ive ever had here has been exceptional. Their cocktails are amazing and unique. Great appetizers--especially the piggy back dates and deviled eggs. Burgers are delicious as well as every other dish Ive tried there. You will not be disappointed! Great service too.

This dinner experience was above average. Food was well prepared and presented. Street view dining area better matches a casual diner than a $55 plate offering. Interior dining area is very nice. Front of house staff seemed a bit stressed and distracted. Would visit again for seating in the interior dining room.

Even the bartender got in to the game when she overheard us debating selecting side dishes!When the food arrived, it was consistently good. We could not decide which we liked best. The wine - a local bottle - paired very nicely as well and the staff checked on us frequently.Another gem!

We have been going to this restaurant since it opened. The food has been consistently good and the service competent. We have enjoyed Sunday brunch often. We visited lately, were seated promptly. The server was attentive. When our order was taken, we were informed that due to the rising cost of beef, our selection had increased in price. We checked the menu and saw the price had gone from $20 to $30!! I am well aware of the cost of beef right now but....really, a 50% increase. Theyre going to outprice themselves right out of this area. Shame too as we have few choices of higher end establishments.

More than meets the eye! From the street this place looks casual and not up scale. But it is amazing, great food, high end if you want it, but you dont feel stuffy at all. Would come back anytime!

Best experience eating and drink here! Tayler made outstanding Thomas Rennicks. Very refreshing. We all sat at the bar. The bartender was polite,and friendly. Highly recommended the flatiron and hanger steak. Never a bad meal!

Very sad! We have been sending friends from Cleveland to this destination for the last 3 years. There has been a turn over in management and the food was dismal. I could have the same eggs Benedict at any chain breakfast restaurant. The staff is still wonderful but again why drive so far for mediocrity.

Every time I visit, I get consistently good food and service. The vegetarian options are very flavorful and worthwhile. Like this cauliflower steak. I also like the side of mushrooms. The many other dishes we have tried are wonderful quality and taste. The vacuum coffee is the best ever, as long as you have the patience to wait for the fascinating process. We have come here just for dessert. Even though their creme brulee is very good we tend to go for the homemade hot fudge sundae! Although if youre ever going to get a banana split, this is the place. An upscale version big enough to share. A good choice for most any diet. We love it.

Last night was our second visit to Rennick & we loved it as much as we did 7 months ago, if not more. Turkey burger still best I have ever had. My husband had ribeye and he was very happy. They are in our top 3 list of favorite restaurants.

What a great place for delicious, unique food. All of the food choices were unique in that they were not your common burger. Definitely a fun place for lunch and then to walk the little town.

What a fantastic dining experience! I loved the Covid-19 procedures that were in place - if only for the additional privacy it provided. Rennick certainly had a unique aura - located in an old butchers shop, the ambience was excellent.The food at Rennick was some of the best Ive had in Ohio. The Cheese curds are out of this world. Fresh Mozz breaded and deep fried - fantastic guilty-pleasure appetizer. I had the scallops - they were fine, my wife ordered the dry-aged NY strip - which was cooked to perfection and well seasoned.Now the sweet potato fries! The BEST Ive ever had. Sweet, salty and cooked perfectly. you wouldnt think a side dish would have that kind of lasting impression, but please please please, try the sweet potato fries.Overall, the experience was great and we cant wait to come back .

Where are all the great revoews coming from!! Walked into Rennicks tonight and sat at the bar. The bartender was more interested in talking to the guy then asking for our drink order.I ordered a Grey Goose martini. It was horrible!! It came with a large piece of ice in a regular short glass. I had her remake it, once again horrible!! I saw her barely put any Vodka in it. To say the least the service was terrible, the drink was awful and so I left. Wont be back.

Loved downtown Ashtabula and Rennicks is right in the middle. Great food and everyone was very kind and friendly.

The service was very slow on a Friday night (with reservations) but we felt very safe with the covid precautions inside. The deviled eggs and cheese curds were phenomenal. My cocktail was average, the steak (I had the ribeye and tried the hanger) was great, but the sides could use some work.I would definitely go back if I was in town again.

I was in search of a good meal while in the area on business and found this gem. Hands down top 5 dinners Ive ever had. Greeted as soon as I walked in the door and the service did not disappoint. Tayler was my server and she did excellent. I ordered the Ribeye, sauteed green beans and mushrooms. Portions were large and the steak was done to perfection with the perfect char. Fresh roasted coffee from down the street, I could go on and on. Beer and wine list was spot on as well.Do yourself a favor and visit this great restaurant and spoil yourself. I cant wait to return, Ive got my eye on the seared duck breast.

Small cozy and excellent food as well as service. Not cheap but not crazy expensive.. meal for 2 with a couple drinks will cost you around $125 .... Worth every penny check it out. I recommend you call for reservations ENJOY

My girlfriend and I went on a Thursday evening with no RSVPs, we were seated at the bar as the place was full. We both ordered the 12oz Filet. It was dont perfectly and the meat was perfect. Our waiter was great and the evening, even though unplanned was perfect as well. Just know you WILL NOT get a table on a Friday or Saturday night with out RSVPs!

I had Joan as my waitress for my first experience at Rennicks. Not only was the atmosphere pleasant, eventhough covid is in full effect, I loved the setting. Joan genuinely cared about my dining experience, and was absolutely adorable. I highly recommend this restaurant nestled in the Ashtabula harbor. Having recently moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio, I can honestly say I have a new favorite place to get steak! Thank you Rennicks for the amazing food, atmosphere, and location. I have been looking for a steak house like this. Everything was perfect. This restaurant is set in an old part of town. It has a dive vibe that just sings character. The service was laid back and efficient. I loved the water being in a picture. The apps. ( Deviled eggs.) A soft boiled egg topped with this awesome sauce. I would give them a 6. Then we also got the carmelized onion dip. I can only say I wish I would have gotten more. A 9.I ordered the porterhouse cooked to predict med rare. And thats what it came out as too!!!! This steak was perfect at every bite. It melted in your mouth with an explosive amount of flavor. I did my happy food dance the whole time.... The wild mushrooms had this sensational sweetness to them with an added woodyness. All and all I have to give the place a 9.5 only because I dont give 10. A must go.... Hats off to the chefs and servers great job!!!!

Best porterhouse Ive ever had! The unique, rustic atmosphere adds to the experience. Its a bit pricey, but worth it.

Fought to find parking since we had our boat with us and then after walking several blocks even though there were atleast 6 open tables we were told they were fully reserved and could not be served. Also bar was empty.

Awesome restaurant. Eat there multiple times a year between spring and fall. Never had a bad meal there. As the name suggests, they specialize in cooking with meats (they have some alternatives for vegetarians as well). They have a good beer list and make excellent cocktails too. Atmosphere is great! The restaurant is located in an old/former butcher shop. Its decorated as such to show its historical roots. The staff are all really friendly and knowledgeable with their menu and help to decide if youre torn between a few items on the menu or want to know a good suggestion to pair your entree with.

The steak tartar was absolutely amazing! I preferred it on the bok choy, but my husband preferred it in the crustini. Either way it was amazing, and the hearty portion was served with both. Then came our steak meals with sauce and veggie sides. Both the flat iron and hangar were cooked to perfection and were delicious, but the veggies almost stole the show. Then I splurged and had the Earl Grey Creme Brulee - yum! Just a fantastic meal all around. We were in no hurry, which was good because the service, while good, was not fast. Overall it was a wonderful meal and well worth lingering over and savoring.

We enjoy this place very much. The meat quality is very good and it always tastes amazing. It is expensive, so be prepared for that, and portions are on the smaller side. The drinks here are pretty good, we prefer the wine usually. The atmosphere is very neat, its in a beautiful historic building and historic neighborhood. The service can be a bit slow if theyre packed but its usually not a big deal.

Had a late lunch dinner date with the other half. Was worried about the prices a bit. That was until we got our food! Absolutely worth every penny! Not so much our atmosphere. Very new aged for us old time country folk, but would not keep us from coming back. Was clean and well treated. Definitely will be going back to try some of the other different odd foods they offered. Dont normally try new things, but this place sparked try something new in us. Cant wait till bbn our next date to go back!

We absolutely love this place. Very historical place to dine in Ashtabula Harbor. The place is a very neat, and clean. The food and service is fantastic! Great for all ages. The atmosphere brings me back to the days of more than 50 years ago when I used to ride my bicycle up and down Bridge street. I would say the prices are very fair for the quality of food 😉 and service you receive. The bar and the dining areas are well 👌 organized. I dont want to forget they have a wonderful brunch.

This is my favorite meal of the year. We plan our lake trips around eating at Rennick. Best steaks in the entire state, amazing bar, and cool atmosphere. Could not recommend any higher, but you MUST make a reservation.

We stopped here one whim. It was raining and it was the only place open. It was a small place but it was nice, I believe it use to be a meat market. Really good burgers, I had the lamb burger it was excellent! The fries were good and and so was the service.

Service is terrible. Great steaks but they almost always over cook them. If you like medium rare, order it rare. Steaks have a char on the outside and are seasoned deliciously. I wouldnt recommend for cocktails as drinks take forever to make and every pour is jigged.For under $40 you get a steak better than you would get at Red, Hyde Park or Urban Farmer in Cleveland AND you get two sides.

A hidden gem in Ashtabula. I have eaten there twice now when visiting from out of town and the food there is always unbelievably fantastic!. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. You cant ever go wrong eating there.

I only give it 4 stars because of the dessert.But the savory food was to die for! I got rainbow trout and it was perfect.My husbands Brazilian steak was a bit salty but still great.The creme brulee was insanely overcooked but hey it isnt Paris, so they are forgiven.Id definitely go there again.Also the mixed drinks were incredible!

The place has some charm to it. An old historic building with a fairly interesting decor. The place seems well maintained and clean. Our first was poor, the swordfish was spoiled. Today’s visit was much better. Just came in for an appetizer and a drink. Good wine offerings.

Went here almost 3 years ago and made it back up and Im editing a previous rating. The food here is outstanding and I was looking forward to returning since we dont get up to this part of Ohio very often. We went in around 5:15p on a Sunday evening with a medium sized party and asked the hostess for seating. She was very rude and off-putting and told us we would have to wait and that they wouldnt be able to seat us until 7:15p. The restaurant was well over half empty and she provided no explanation. I was incredibly disappointed.

We had a huge family dinner here and we had all sorts of appetizers and entrees, so we put the kitchen staff through the paces. They where fast, efficient, and so polite. The bacon wrapped dates where amazing. The hamburgers where perfectly prepared, but despite their amazing ingredients lacked a wow flavor. The schnitzel was AMAZING. The ice cream with carmel and crunch was very good too. The spaghetti and meat balls where a HUGE hit! Overall I give this restaurant and their staff very high praise. I would like to add that the atmosphere was conducive to intimacy and good conversation. Bravo!!!

Absolutely fantastic! We’ll definitely be back. This was the best meal our family has had at a restaurant in a very long time. The staff was great and the chef/owner was also very accommodating. Unfortunately, they where out of two of the dishes that I chose. My wife had the Swordfish, my son had a burger, father in law had eggs Benedict, mother in law had the Cuban and I settled on a steak. Homemade tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons was excellent as was everything else. Thanks again Kyle and Alex, we’ll be back soon for sure.
