My husband and I have been going to Dr. Cahan for many years. He has always helped us with any problems we have had. We have both had cataract surgery as well as other surgeries performed by him and we have been very happy with the results. We feel Dr Cahan is very knowledgeable and caring. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff then the doctor and nurses, make you feel welcome. You are important there and not just a patient among many. We are glad to be able to write this comment and recommend our “go to doctor” for our eyes!Grace Conrad

First time visit and the office staff was great ! Helpful and friendly. However the dr was not. Very rude and abrupt. I need surgery on one of my eyes which he apparently cant do (even though his brochure said he did ). He was uninterested in getting me referred to one that could. Made comments about how he “doesn’t understand people” when stating that I hadn’t been to eye dr in several years (my eyesight hasn’t gotten worse until recently) and was very rude when i stated I work from home on a computer. Then tells me the prescription he just wrote won’t work for that. Made me feel like he was in a hurry then just went to front office to talk politics with the front office staff. Never said thank you, see you later, nothing. Like I didn’t exist . I had hoped I found a new eye dr but guess I’ll have to go back to Asheville eye. This guy definitely doesn’t want my business.

While the staff here has always been very polite in professional, after several years of being a patient I can no longer tolerate Dr. Cahan’s elitist attitude. Every time I have my eye exam I take my prescription with me to get glasses at one of the cheaper chain businesses not because I want to take business away from Dr. Cahan but because I can’t afford to buy glasses that start at $200 just for the frames. I can only afford my eye exams because they are 100% covered by my insurance but glasses aren’t.The first few years he made comments about discounts at his office but didn’t push me on the issue. When I went a few weeks ago he made rude comments about how the reason I was having some trouble with my vision was solely because of my cheap glasses and when I repeated again that I would have to purchase my glasses elsewhere he stated “fine you’ll save $20 and pay for it with you vision” before quickly exiting the exam room.He attempted to make me feel small and lesser because of my decision to try and make my vision issues affordable for myself which is unprofessional and elitist. After over 5 years of coming to his practice I won’t be returning again. If like me you are struggling to afford your vision care I highly recommend you go elsewhere; if not I’m sure you’ll have a pleasant experience

I have been a patient of Dr. Cahans for quite sometime. I have had my fair share of iritis incidents and cannot say enough about the care I receive from him and his office staff. B Schoenheit

While the wait was a bit longer than I would have liked, I still love this place. I didnt feel pushed to buy frames. I felt listened to as an individual. Every staff member was pleasant and friendly. Ken took the time to make certain I understood how to care for my glasses (Ive never had them before) and that I knew I could come back if I needed adjustments.
