We had a great experience at Waterways. We stopped by there to look at kayaks and went to a couple other places. We decided to come back because the quality of the kayaks were so much better than the big box stores. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the products. We picked up two kayaks, PFDs and paddles.I’m sorry to hear about a previous review where someone had a bad experience with the dog. While we were there the dog was leashed and behind the counter so it couldn’t interact with us.

Oh, yes! The Waterways showroom was bright, roomy, colorful and off the hook as was the customer service offered by Lawson. NOTE: Although Astral doesnt list Waterways and Waterways doesnt reflect Astral on their website(s), we were pleased to find Waterways had a fantastic selection of Astral PFDs at the time of our visit. Parking at their West Asheville location was no issue whatsoever which made the visit even better and more efficient. We appreciated the smiles and knowledge, Waterways. When we need additional PFDs, back to Waterways we will go.

Drove here from Raleigh to buy a kayak. Met Sam and Craig. Awesome people and awesome shop!! Amazing customer service and knowledge on angler kayaks. Highly recommend this place!!!

The staff were very knowledgeable and I left with a kayak, but I would caution future customers. There is a shop dog, which I found adorable, but was pretty aggressive. It started with just barking but the dog bit me and my clothing multiple times, enough to leave a few bruises on my arm. None of the staff seemed to care and did not apologize, just laughed it off which was also very uncomfortable. I asked for the dog to be leashed because she would not stop biting me, and she was unleashed before we even left and again, bit me and my rain jacket leaving marks. I am a huge dog person but that is not the kind of shopping experience I wanted. If kayaks were not so hard to find I would have bought elsewhere.

Sam was great. We stayed well over a hour trying out different kayaks and he never rushed us or pushed anything on us. Ended up buying two 3 waters Big Fish (105&108) highly recommend

Awesome customer service ordered a lure 13.5 online and drove up yesterday and picked up a lure 11.5 for my son after a whole conversation on what would be best made me feel like we were family will always come here for all my yak needs

Great people, great kayaks. Knowledgeable and willing to help. Really like my Big Fish 120 and will definitely be back for another when the wifes ready for a new one!

This could be a very long review so I will try to keep it short. Even great products, which they have, can not stand alone without great, informed and honest people in support. The folks I worked with (Sam, Craig and Mattie... hope I spelled that correctly) were terrific at their jobs and also made me feel like a friend. If you are in the market for a Kayak or related equipment please check this place out. It will remind you of the kind of customer service you wish you had with every business encounter.
