So I came into town to ride bikes. Accidentally broke by rear derailleur and called this place 15 min before they open. I was taking a chance. Not only did they have the part stock matching what’s listed on their website but Eric who I spoke to was empathetic to me needing a quick install, Invited me to bring down my road bike welcomed me when I walked in and repaired my rear derailleur realigning the hanger and installing a new chain in 30 minutes or less. And no price gouging, their prices were lower than other bike shops. Outstanding result I’m so glad I found this place and every time I come to town I will stop in to buy some thing.

Arrived in Asheville for a tour with my bike and two right hand pedals. The tour leader, a local from Asheville recommended Youngblood. Matt at Youngblood said he could sell me a pair or lend me a used pair for the week. Very helpful!

Killer experience, great guys. Easy chat, good accessory selection, accessible expertise. No elitism here, but they definitely know their stuff and can talk shop with fanatics. Highly recommended for everyone.

Only place in Asheville/WNC that sells Pivot and maybe even Yeti. Still had a decent selection of both + Cannondale despite COVID/other shortages. Matt was great. Super helpful and willing to take all the time I needed to answer questions and talk shop on bike components and local trails. Also offer local demo/rental rides

Came in from out of town and needed service right before they closed. They put down their work and talked with me and ended up replacing my broken cassette on the spot. I can’t say enough about how amazed I am with Youngblood’s crew. Thank you for making my experience 10/10.

Look no further. This should be your forever bike shop. After having a HORRIBLE experience at Herns Cycle and Fitness, I came here in hopes that they could fix the busted used bike Herns sold me. Chris was the mechanic who fixed up my bike but I feel confident that anyone on their staff is competent and professional enough for any of your cycling needs. My bike runs so well now. Thanks Chris and Youngblood for everything. You guys rock.

I called and and asked for a particular part and they said they had it. I drove 9 miles out of the way to pick it up. When I got there they brought out a different part. Thankfully I noticed. So he brought out another and said this was correct. Thankfully I double checked once I got to my car and saw it was the wrong part again. This is without apologizing at all. During the sale I asked if he could show me real quick of how to install since I am a rookie bike mechanic. He was very short and said no they didn’t have time. I offered to pay them for the little advice it would have taken. So he then showed me but not happy about it. I returned everything and explained how bad this situation turned out and the whole shop started kicking me out of the store. I have never, never been treated so bad from any business. I don’t recommend this shop for any reason. They are also way over priced on their accessories items!

We took our sons bike in to be repaired. The employee told us that it would cost $50.00 to fix. It took 7 weeks for the repair to be completed. We called several times for an update and were told they were having difficulty getting the part they needed due to Covid (ok, understandable). When we finally got the word that the bike was ready, it cost $119! YIKES, that more than twice what they quoted us. They never contacted us to ask if it was OK to make the additional repairs.UPDATE: after speaking with a representative on the phone, I feel my concerns were heard. Communication is key! I hope on one else experiences sticker shock upon picking up their bike!!BTW- Im confident the repairs were done correctly and our son is thrilled to have this bike back (hence the 4 stars).

Disrespectful. We rented two bikes for a Saturday in Brevard. Which came out to $200.We were informed that is was okay to return the bikes on Sunday to the owners house or Monday at the shop. No extra charges were mentioned. Since we were visiting with no car or bike racks to transport the bikes we had to ride them back to the store location. Young blood told us he was okay with this, again no charges were mentioned. We arrived to the store in complete disbelief. The owner asked if there were and crashes with the bike. We lightly bumped the bike but no scratches were detected by us on the bike. The owner began to inform us that we scratched the bike in a complete opposite place were it which it was actually bumped. He told us we had to pay 200 extra for a scratch that was super small and not even caused by us. If you are a tourist do not go here. They know if you not a regular and will completely take advantage of you.If you do decide to rent here make sure you are clear about the rental and take pictures of the bike before to leave the store. The did try to add on to the cost with other things that were not discussed.

This place is flat out awesome. I recently bought my first mountain bike here and theyve taken such good care of me and my bike! They are very knowledgeable and were so sweet to make me a cup of coffee while I waited for my bike to get worked on this morning. The staff and owner are very chill and happy to help you. Cant wait to get my next mountain bike from them. Theyre the best bike shop in town!

Absolutely taken advantage of. I brought my bike in for a simple service (I provided the parts), and they ended up taking twice as long as quoted, charging me 3x as much, and not even making the repair. I checked on the bike twice (first after a week passed) and each time they doubled the repair cost. Eventually I told them to give me the bike as is because I would not pay anymore. To have all the parts in hand, the bike disassembled, charge 3x the quote, and NOT make the repair is a joke. There are plenty of bike shops in the area, dont waste your time here.Edit: I was able to remove the stuck bolt in less than a minute without using a penetrant or lubricant, just the correct size hex key.

Favorably impressed with friendliness and expertise. There is so much more to know about bikes than there was 35 years ago! It can be a bit staggering for a newby to bikes. Thus, I can understand people feeling a bit intimidated trying to master it all at once. This is a fine shop in which to learn and get fair treatment with both repairs or sales.

Ordered a pair of riding shoes on 4/20/19. Two weeks later they still hadnt come in so I went to another shop and bought a pair. Youngblood agreed to give me a store credit for $160.50. I pretty much figured they would give me grief when the time came to use the credit and many things went through my head about what I would do when they said they wouldnt honor it. Walked in the store on 7/27/19, over 3 months later, picked out a helmet, walked to the counter and the guy says hey, you have a credit. How is the road bike going...Just doesnt get any better than this shop!

What a great group of guys. My wife and my two sons and I went into Youngblood early one Saturday looking for used bikes. The guys at Youngblood’s were so helpful in helping us Identify the right bike and bike sizes for my family; we purchased three bikes and got great advise on the purchase of a third used bike from a third party. When I called a couple days later, I was impressed with the detailed feedback I received on the status of the bikes as well as the status of a bike we ordered. Not many businesses give you that kind of feedback without you having to ask for it.I highly recommend doing business with the Guys at Youngblood Bicycles.Great Job Guys.

I’ve been window shopping for a new mountain bike for years, but it was only until recently that I felt it was worth a significant investment. I’ve been to LBS’s here, there, and everywhere, but Youngblood is one of the few where I felt the owner & staff hit that elusive balance of being deeply knowledgeable about all things bikes and also being all about the thing it’s about: getting a big grin when you ride. They helped me find the right bike for me. Notable: female riders welcome here. I can’t wait until the temps hit double digits to be able to roll my Yeti Beti down the mountain.

Ive had nothing but great experiences at Young blood Bicycles. I just bought my first road bike, a Cannondale CAAD8, which I was very nervous about doing. Chad and the other employees were very patient, informative and helped me make a purchase I was confident in. Great place!

This is a We-Know-It-All bike shop. Even when they dont. They will judge you by what youre wearing when you walk in. If they think they can make a buc off you, then theyll be your best friend. If they dont, theyll ignore you and almost show you the door. There are a few stories of Young Bloods on MTBR noting their snobby attitudes. Its mostly a beginner cyclist shop since they refuse to carry new equipment to the industry, even if its locally made. Youll find a wider selection of accessories at Toys R Us.Plenty of other great bike shops in town if you prefer not to be talked down to.Try Epic Cycles, Billy Goat Bikes, Liberty Bikes or Carolina Fatz. Those are the top bike shops preferred by the Asheville locals.
